Umm..so are we still doing this game??

Overlord Jon:

+1 skill rank, +4 size (small), +3 class skill, +3 Dex Mod, +2 Racial, +2 Equipment (Shinobi Shozoku)=15

Now there is something with the Shadow bloodline that I cannot figure out. On Herolab there is a 'shadow' condition which give a +4 circumstance bonus as long as I am in shadow. That is why I keep casing Penumbra on myself every 10 minutes. I cannot, however, figure this bonus out as to where it comes from (other than from the Shadow Bloodline, as it disappears if I remove that bloodline). I know one of the abilities Shadow gives is a bonus to stealth equal to the level of a shadow spell cast for 1d4 minutes...but I do not thing that applies, as Penumbra is a 0-level spell.
That all said, I will uncheck the "shadow" condition on Hero Lab, and reduce my stealth to +15 as I cannot justify the extra +4 and must conclude it is a system error...I will forward the character to Hero Lab to see what they think. Sorry for the confusion...I took the system as correct without checking all the factors...

"Indeed"

Casting Penumbra she drifts away and scouts the ship, noting where guards are, and where the main bridge is located.

Stealth: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (11) + 19 = 30

"Maybe it might be better if I go and take a look first, just to see if they are telling the truth."

Duskade gives guard #1 another jolt

Attack-Melee Touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4 again non-lethal

Duskade summons the shadows around her and moves forward into the ship's hold.

Stealth: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21

Attack-Melee touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4non-lethal; plus dazzled for 1 minute

Ok..what exactly was our plan? Did you want Duskade to sneak up on one of them and use her special ability to dazzle him?

"What about the guards? How should we handle them?"

Duskade nods her agreement.
"I can get to the far side of that machinery and then we will have them flanked. I have magics to perhaps render them either unconscious or dead."

She will return with the information, appearing out of the shadow, like a ghost :-)

"The way ahead is guarded, and the access is very narrow. Two guards block the only door further into the ship."

"You all stay here and I will search. I will return once I have finished searching this vessel."

Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

I guess Duskade can take 20 as well then.

Stealth: 20 + 19 = 39

A patch of gloom slowly spreads across the gunwale and onto the deck.

Duskade is already in scout mode!!!

"Ok then", and Duskade vanishes into the gloom.

Cast Penumbra to keep to shadows.

Stealth: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (10) + 19 = 29

Duskade moves forward towards the school, keeping her eyes open for any more intruders.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

"I shall do so...what would you have me do if I come across more of these thugs?"

"I think that is enough Khol. We have got the information that we wanted; he knows nothing else of importance. He was, after all, just a lowly pawn."

Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Duskade exits her self-generated shadow to suddenly 'appear' next to the thug.

"I am unharmed, and the other two raiders are dead, I believe."

Duskade creeps from the shadows and moves towards the unconscious raider.
She keeps her crossbow aimed at the fellow while someone ties him up.

Not wishing to hit any of her own people, Duskade lowers her crossbow and extends her hand towards the final gunman. In a low voice she murmurs an arcane phrase and a bolt of utter darkness flies from her outstretched hand to strike her enemy unerringly.

Magic Missile Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Duskade, still in shadow, again strikes at the gunmen (G1)

Attack-Ranged: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

From the darkness, Duskade aims down her light crossbow, placing the fool whose weapon misfired squarely in her sights.
She will want to stay in shadow, so I am not sure if I need to roll stealth to stay hidden in the Penumbra she already cast

Stealth: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (5) + 19 = 24

Attack-Ranged: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Duskade quickly cast mage armor on herself, and tightens her grip on her crossbow.
She can see in the dark...can she make out what the shadow is?

Duskade only moves 20' as well...so we can keep each other company...lol

Duskage continues to move in her own created shadows, swiftly and quietly returning to the town where the airships is attacking.

Duskade keeps to the shadows, her crossbow aimed at the fiery creature.

She will continue to cast Penumbra to create shadow to improve her stealth.

Stealth: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 35

Duskade nods at the wisdom that the Mistress of Faith is imparting, but is shocked when she conjures the fire elementals and now pits them against the class.
Do we need to roll initiative?

Duskage quickly fades from view moving herself to a safer distance where she can work her magic, or ply her crossbow.

Duskade steps out of the forest gloom, the same unreadable look on her sharp face.

"Why a study of the elements? I believe we all know of the four, but what about the quasi-elements, of which shadow is prime? Do we get to learn about those as well?"

DM:

A quick question. I have been looking on various web sites to find out if the spell Prestidigitation could be used to produce a small flame, or create a small amount of water. Some say yes, and others say no. Just wondering what your take would be.

Wow after listening to you guys and seeing your characters, kinda feeling underwhelming as a little sorceress. I guess I can always hide in the huge shadow you make...lol

Staying in the shadows of the great conifers, Duskade breaths in the cool, thin air. So different from the moist, heavy musk found in the swamp and the welcoming darkness of the Banyan trees. She wonders if these trees, like those of her home, have special powers to turn back the fog. But she remains quiet, listening and watching from the shadows as the children take in their lessons.

Ummm...is this the correct place???

Duskade is much more a Stray than a Waif..lol I think she has everything she needs (or can afford), so ready to go!

Duskade will be happy to be included in either group....

Duskade is a sneaky character who will be taking some levels in rogue in time. She is definitely a distance damage dealer, or backstabber. I also have her older than most of the other characters, so I hope that does not cause any problems...

Woot!! thanks for choosing my character. I look forward to playing. Oh and her avatar should be complete

Yeah, I can see how it would be pretty difficult. I had thought, because I believe this adventure is done in chapters, each could take a chapter and run it, or something like that...or each runs their own separate game..like I said just trying to think of how to include all the wonderful characters that were made :-)
Oooo..I am very excited and nervous..only 5 hours left!!!

yeah...that was me..lol maybe co-DM the games.... don't know, just know that it will be a fun game and want to spread that fun around :-)

Looking forward to seeing who made it in. Maybe someone else might be interested in taking a stab at being a DM for those left behind...

Is it possible that you might run more than 1 group, due to the volume of submissions?? Just curious...

Thats funny because I have a Zen Archer in another game as well....I think Eclis and Pari would work quite well with one another...(Hint, Hint Yorik..lol)

LOL...what are you playing here??

Hey Lexi, its Vik from the Kingmaker game....did not notice you were interested in this one as well...best of luck, and maybe we will get to be in a group together again!!

Here is the completed portfolio for Eclis, my Wayang sorceress. Any concerns please just ask and I can change/alter whatever is needed.
Thank you
