Description

Dural ir’Winthorpe stands 5’11” and carries a 270 weight on his frame. He has black hair, blue eyes, and fair complexion. He’s a bit of a dandy and like a good meal. While in the office he normally wears a Scholar’s outfit and likes to keep his desk area neat. While in the field he normally wears an Explorer’s outfit or Traveler’s outfit depending on the circumstances. While off duty he is most often found in restaurants of quality enjoying fine meals, most often wearing a Courtier’s outfit.

Background

Dural ir’Winthorpe grew up the seventh son of the minor noble Verden ir’Winthorpe and enjoyed a happy upbringing in Ardev, a small town in Breland. During his childhood he noticed that his father managed to keep his older bothers out of the war. On Dural’s sixteenth birthday, son and father got into a bit of an argument regarding the issue of young Dural wanting to join the Breland Army. It seemed that Verden had already made arrangements to send his seventh son to Morgrave University and that as they say was that.

Dural went along with his father’s arrangements since one did not stand up to father, at least in his presence. But one week after being enrolled in the university and his father safely back in Ardev Dural left the university and joined the army. While in basic training, Dural wrote his father and informed him of his actions. Two days before shipping out to the Aundair Front Dural received a letter from his father informing him that he had been disowned and was not welcomed back to the ir’Winthorpe estates.

Dural regretted his decision to join the Breland Arny, for soon after his posting to the Aundair Front he was captured in his first battle and spent the next few years in a Aundairian POW camp. While in the camp he became acquainted with Issac Vale, a fellow Breland prisoner, who I later learned worked for some intelligence unit of Breland. One of Dural’s barracks mates was Oarsen Perryn, a cook from Breland, who was captured earlier in the War. In the confusion after the Day of Morning, many of the POWs of the camp managed to escape and luckily made contact with a Breland Army unit. A member of the Army unit was Var, a mercenary from the plains. Var was consigned the task of seeing the ex-POWs returned to Breland.

Dural was assigned to light duty in Sharn after his liberation and worked as a low level agent gathering information on foreign dignitaries passing through Sharn. And soon after the War he joined with Issac, Var, and others to form the Insert Agency Name a detective agency.
