Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Suse shifts her feet nervously, clearly not liking that train of thought. "We could always use those guys as shields instead." She says, jerking her head toward the half naked guards. They don't seem very happy about her suggestion.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

And survey says...: 1d20 ⇒ 16

No gun, and in fact you're more then a little disappointed at first to just see clothes. However, hidden under the peasant garb are two decks of cards- one regular, one marked -and bag of 20 gp worth of mixed coinage. You have a feeling any guns likely wouldn't be kept in the personal effects of the guardsman, but in the armory.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

MORE LOOT: 1d20 ⇒ 13

While one still refuses to bow to your mad skills, the other relent's it's treasure. A whetstone, cleaning supplies for chain shirt, extra black powder, and a small book of the recently established Holy Bullet Musketeer Legion. It seems very embellished and full of odd laws and honor codes, though you suppose it has the potential to be useful.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

All but five of them click open, three of those chest's locks are too damaged to try again. For the rest, though?

SO MUCH LOOT: 6d20 ⇒ (3, 19, 5, 7, 6, 2) = 42

She finds in the first chest some Ink, quill and a personal journal that reveals this week’s password for the gate is “Hesterfield," though that's likely moot by now, and also mentions that there was a poker game going on in he gatehouse tonight. This may be where some of the guards, and Blackerly himself, were.

A traveler's outfit, a finely made pipe with a good supply of high quality shag tobacco in the second.

A bottle of fine whiskey- smoky, peaty with just a hint of sweetness when she takes a sip -without a label in the third.

A silver holy symbol of Mitra and a Mitran holy book in the forth. Just holding these seems to make your hands burn, though you're confident it's all in your head.

There's another bottle of Absolute Rot Gut in the fifth.

And finally, a changing of peasant clothes in the last chest.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

WHATS IN THE BOX???: 1d20 ⇒ 6

The chest seems to contain a bottle of Absolute Rot Gut, a popular drink in places without proper taste-buds. There are eleven more chests to go through if you wish to spend the time, and you realize that your party picked up a couple keys that could go to these.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The the next room is surprisingly better kept, though not by much. A fancy bed is in one end of the room, with a dresser nearby. There's a table with two chairs set up, and a small chest. Tee floor has some animal skin rugs, though you can tell at a glance that they wouldn't be worth much. The real issue... is when Snog looks up at the walls. Nearly every inch of it is covered in plaques displaying various trophies, a disturbingly large amount of them seem preserved penises. It's very disturbing honestly. A rather large empty plaque hands above the bed, as if it was want to be the centerpiece of the macabre decoration, though he name is illegible from the doorway.

Snog's Akys is on the table, and appears to be surrounded by nut shells.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

They scowl, but follow along. Suse dosn't even spare them a glance as she keeps her arms crossed, waiting near her fellow half-elf. The guards are led over to the office with little trouble, though you're not sure how long they'll cooperate like this.

Collette remains near the barracks for now. Besides the guards, the simple room has a few cots and a dozen locked chests throughout it.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The door bursts on open with that hit. The room revealed is dingy and cluttered. There's a large desk littered with paper, weeks old dishes, and small metal frog toys. A single chair sits in front of it, the very surface of it just makes you think a fort check is needed to sit down. There's another door to the far side of the room.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The door cracks, but it dosn't give away completely. You think if there was just a little more force behind it, the door would break.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

the other three share looks when they here their fellow rifleman's name. She dosn't go over to see them, and simply points across the hall to the other door. "It's right on into the office, and then to his bedroom." She shudders at a bad memory. "I'd prefer to not go in there again."

Combat is over for now.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Even with rolling a one, the guards can easily tell that they're at a massive disadvantage here. They give each other uneasy looks, but then proceed to slowly raise their arms up in surrender. They don't say anything just yet, but it's obvious enough they don't intend to attack with these odds.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Bo nudges Colette to the side as he bursts through the door, catching three guards making a pitiful attempt at getting their armor on. "S!+~ s@*@ s+#!!" The female of the group shouts.

Suse -> Bo -> Colette -> NPCs -> Snog

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

While it's been so long that the GM is unsure how much health she had, he's confident that the sword-strike has managed to successfully gut her. She falls over, and starts bleeding out. Suse takes a careful step back, and pops a round into the other guard's head, finishing her off.

"That's enough of that then."

It's now Bo's turn.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The universe split a apart, and time is reversed to correct a GM's mistake. The sheer witnessing of a level 20 gamemaster using his strongest ability, Retcon, would normally fry the brains of any PCs present, but luckily said effects are also retconned.

ahem.

The guards-woman manages to pull her pistol out and keep it there, Collette failing to properly knock it out of her hands. Stepping back a few feet, she fires on Collette.

Retcon blast- er no, it's actually just a pistol.: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

damage?: 1d8 ⇒ 2

The gun misfires, damaging her weapon just as effectively as disarming would've been. She swears in pain as it very nearly takes off her hand in the process.

Don't play with guns kids.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The gaurdswoman just barely manages to wrench her blade to the side in time, keeping it in hand. She quickly retaliates by taking advantage of the AOO, and also an actual attack. It's a bad situation in general.

AOO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

damage?: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Actual attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

damage?: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Bo misses the attack by several feet.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Randel attempts to light one of his bombs, but accidentally dumps all his explosive chemicals on himself. He tries to to take this in stride with a calm head, for all of two seconds before rushing away while screaming. He explodes moments later, safely out of everyone's range. The guard looks very confused, and Suse is in utter disbelief that just happened. luckily he dropped the veil right before this happened, and it's now next to Bo, who by coincidence is up next.

Randel has removed himself from the game.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The door opens fully, revealing a single human guard, who gasps in alarm, reaching for her sidearm. Suse attempts to act like she had nothing to do with this, on the off chance of not getting shot first.

bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

The other guard fully believes Suse isn't willing part of your escape attempt, and ignores her for now.

Suse -> Randel -> Bo -> Colette -> NPCs -> Snog

Randel's turn

This order remains in effect until danger of combat is finished.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Bo hears what Collette heard. Now though, everyone can see the door near Suse turning. Everyone roll Init

Suse: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Collette hears the startled sounds on the other side of the door in front of her, as well as muffled sounds from the other nearby door.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

As soon as everyone leaves the room and gathers up near the barracks door, You all hear a commotion from the kitchen as the two servants fly out the backdoor. Their screaming is quickly accent by signal horns from around the island prison. "Ah, f*!%." You hear from Suse as she preps her musket. Seems there's no use sneaking around being quiet any longer.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

It seems that it's actually the mess hall. You see a large decorative tapestry on one side, bit you're quick to realize it's likely worthless to most people. Nobody is in here right now, and the tables are cleaned and polished. there's a door at the far end, and another to the right of tht one against the left wall.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

"The door up here leads to the food hall, the door to the barracks is at the other end with another to the main hall up there as well."

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

"S-snogs what now...?" The man is honestly confused.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Suse rolls her eyes at the madman before turning to the scene before her. The male servant shakes his head furiously, tears staining his eyes red. "C-crystal..." His fellow is meanwhile, cowering in the corner, being a very poor example to young girls everywhere. But then again, these are four of the most dangerous criminals in Talingarde, so it's understandable.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Randel manages to stick his hand in the flames, and his temporary clothes catch as he struggles to put out the flames as fast as he can.

Randel takes: 1d6 ⇒ 3 fire damage.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Suse sticks her head closer the fireplace, but not enough to get burnt. "Oi if ya just gonna stand up there and complain, why don't ya go n take a piss ta put it out yaself." She's had enough of today and would very much like to get on with her life.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

"Wh-what do you want from us?! W-what do you even w-want me to say?!"

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The man start's full blown sobbing by now. "N-noth-thing, we didn't s-see n-n-" It's hard to tell what he's more afraid of, your voice or the fact that your everything is just hanging out. Though it's likely a combination of both.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

They stop what they were doing, and start cowering in fear. "W-we didn't see anything..."

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

There seem to much in way of cutlery and foodstuffs, but meanwhile you get a feeling that those two cooks are about to bolt.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Collette is almost able to synchronize with bo and Snog, but sadly, it is not in the cards. She manages to not get burnt nor loose her feather in the process.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Bo and snog in fact do a synchronized tumble out of the fire, and end in a flourish. The workers are actually impressed, though put off by the naked man.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Snog gracefully rolls past the flames and into the kitchen propper, spotting two human servants, a man and a woman. They look scared as hell from seeing you come out of the fire.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

You can't make out anything with all the smoke as you jump down into it, but you do hear startled gasps as soon as you land at the bottom.

Snog and anyone else jumping down, roll an acrobatics check.

Suse Jumps down despite knowing how stupid this is.: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

She manages to get down there relatively unsinged.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

"Just the cooks." Snog does indeed see the tell-tale embers down below. He feels it'a possible to get down somewhat intact, though he might get singed.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

"If by Door you mean the fireplace, yeah. It'll likely be... interestin, though. Fire's always lit. The stairs would lead down to the entry hall."

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The only other thing notable besides weapons is their chain shirts, shields, and the keys they carry, though like all the other soldiers they were wearing the blue poncho and fancy feather hat. The crest for Talingarde is embroidered on their fronts.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Room twenty is small, with only a single table and two chairs. From the bits of blood on the floor and how close this is to the cells, this was obviously the interrogation chamber

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The hit is enough, you hit him square in the back and he quickly takes a tumble, hitting his head against every step as he falls unceremoniously down. He doesn't move when he finally stops, and you can't hear anyone else.

"Eesh, brutal much?"

Combat is over.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The man stumbles back from a thick and heavy punch to the gut, bleeding profuse'y from his mouth. His eyes are wide, and he tries to get past Bo in order to flee down the stairs. Any attempt to scream for help comes up as gurgles.

Bo may make an AoO as he's fleeing.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Dead guard assumes his namesake, and is indeed dead. The other man's jaw is slightly hung open as he watches his friend get cut down.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

And Bo misses by a good foot. The man is mainly thankful that Bo's other anatomy didn't swing close enough to him either. Though, not dying is certainly a plus.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

The guard is struck hard, he gasps out in pain and stumbles back, but he seems to still be holding up, though just barely.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

"I have a feelin that won't work so well..." The door opens up to a short and portly man, a sword in his hand and a signal horn in the other. "IS everyone al-" Eveyone's readied actions go off, roll for init.

Init for Dead Gaurd: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Init for slightly longer to live gaurd: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

As the party move's closer to the door, Bo and Colette are able to make out a muffled conversation on the other side.

"Coulda sworn I heard something going on in there..."
"Cut your worrying, if there was anything wrong they'd have blown the horn by now."
"but, but what if they like... What if they didn't even have any time too-?"
"Bah, if your so worried just open the door."
"Fine, I will then!"

Footsteps get closer to the door.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

Suse stays more behind, she dosn't like having to do all this, but it's better then dying. At the very least she's not gunning anyone down.

Perception check for anyone getting close to the door.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

You can tell now, that it's a simple potion of Cure Light Wounds by it's subtle color and viscosity.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

It's a single potion, of what you can't tell right away.

Astronaut Skeleton level 20 Gamemaster

When he pull the patch away, it does indeed form a small sack, though it seems there's a second attached to it. The first seems to be a common spell component bag full of various things worth less then a gold piece, though there are clothes in there enough for each PC, and somehow sized to fit them. The other, Randel can instantly tell from the small clinks inside, is full of dangerous chemicals. He estimates that it's enough for his mutagens, bombs, and extracts for just a single day.
