Drovic immediately slips over to Ryma and twirls his dagger. "The only thing that will keep you both alive is if you keep your voice down and start talking. Otherwise I will use a poison on you that is so vile your blood with curdle. Literally."
"Well apparently this woman knows nothing of any use, so unless she can tell us something that helps I say we tie up loose ends."
Drovic narrows his eyes at the woman. "I hope you know something more 'she's around town somewhere'."
Drovic holds his arm where the woman had struck him fighting back. He seethes at her, twirling his dagger. "And I suggest the truth. When men like him ally with men like me, you don't know what kind of lines will be crossed."
I usually just plan out major plot points, then wing it from there depending on player actions.
"I think a straightforward approach would be good. Perhaps I can come in through the back and take out some big names before we start."
Finals week. Please DMPC as necessary. I will return on Wednesday night, thoroughly stressed and exhausted and probably eating a whole pizza by myself.
Wow. I'm on my laptop and I still can't post. Every other campaign is working fine for me.
For some reason I can't post in gameplay. I got a 16 on my knowledge check.
Don't worry. When the excrement hits the fan I will be very happy to have somebody who can handle the combat magic. Drovic is not very scary in combat unless he can get the drop on the enemy.
Actually I think the problem is more along the lines of how long our breaks from the game have been. I think were starting to forget the main plot points that we are on right now.
"We know that Kreed wants to blackmail the People's Council to send the Eagle Knights in order to make way for the Lumber Consortium. But we need to learn more before going in. We could simply take Kreed out, but a political assassination would serve better. A simple death or disappearance may not solve the problem. We need to destroy what Kreed stands for."
His place in the church has served him very well. Perhaps I should forge some documents and get some "titles" as well for the future. But that's for another time... "I will ask some questions in the seedier parts of town. The downtrodden know secrets that even nobles don't."
Don't worry, we'll need that. This stuff is right up Drovic's alley. He's far from useless in combat, but it's definitely not his forte.
"How do we want to approach this? We could be slow and methodical or I could break into the palace and see what I could learn."
"Yes, we have all the evidence we need from here. Let's move on and see what else we can learn."
"Let me take a look. There was so much I was just copying down words without real comprehension."
Once the party is a few dozen feet within the trees and has broken line of sight from the manor, Drovic drops down right next to them. "I assume your end went well than? My mission was a complete success. I don't think I could have missed all that evidence if I was blind and drunk." He takes out his notes and starts showing it to the others.
Time to leave. Dashel will handle himself. Drovic makes his way out, slipping past the guards and going back into the wild. On his way he stops by one of the more superior-looking guards to memorize his features in case he needs to disguise himself as the guard later. Once on the outskirts, Drovic perched up in a tree in the shadows, waiting and observing.
Drovic is appalled at how blatant their crimes are. He uses some of his writing materials to quickly scrawl notes, getting as much information as he can. Then he gets ready to move out.
With the room empty, Drovic starts searching the room for anything he can find to get him leverage. Paperwork, notes, weapons, anything of interest. All the while keeping a mental clock for the duration of his invisibility.
My schedule is decent right now.
Well I'll throw a bump up here. Is the game dead? I would certainly still like to continue it.
Drovic remains silent and listens in the corner.
Drovic grins at the cleric. "I'll make a pragmatist of you yet. I think that sounds like an excellent plan."
Drovic comes back to the party. "Security is competent, but nothing serious. I could sneak in and get some dirt before we talk to the guy."
Drovic pays special attention to the human security, trying to get a read on how intelligent and effective the guards are. He also tries to see if anything gives away any kind of magic security.
While he may have given a sarcastic retort to most other people, the cleric had earned his respect. "Spent some time doing it in Taldor. Have to make sure there's no surprises, like hired security or magical defenses. Information is power. If all goes well I'll just scout to learn what we can before going to talk to him. Right now I don't intend on taking anything, just snooping around and reading some papers."
I seriously love the roleplay between Drovic and Dashel. He seems to have a very "necessary evil" attitude about Drovic.
Drovic disguises himself as an old human beggar and stakes out the house, learning the comings and goings of the inhabitants. He also keeps an eye out for any interesting or shady figures.
So, how are things? I think we're ready to move on.
Drovic smiles behind his mask. Like we care what you think of us. Please, make a move on the group saving the world. Tyrants have no place right now. "Well I'm glad I made a friend, but we have work to do."
Drovic conveys the information.
"I know Garland, I've bumped into him before. He's a director for the Lumber Consortium, the batch of greedy tyrants. He lives in Oregent with four other board members. Arianna is from the same place."
Much better, thank you.
Drovic remains in the back of the group, leaning against the wall and keeping an eye out. In all ways he seems like a quiet bodyguard, keeping to himself and letting the others talk. Dashel is far more qualified for this than he is.
Perfect. A legitimate way in. Drovic nods at the suggestion, letting somebody else take the scroll. "I think we're ready to depart than."
I just had surgery. Nothing life threatening, but I'm going to be in a lot of pain and on a lot of drugs the next week. Please DMPC as necessary.
Drovic's lip curls into a smirk. "Yes, continue."
Drovic shakes his mostly-empty coin purse. "As much as I care, I'm about 200 short."
Drovic stares in silence at their newest addition. I don't even...what? He hisses. "Assassinations, magic, poison. Need any of those, talk to me. If not, keep to yourself."
Even Drovic gives a quick chuckle at that one. At least he's amusing. Drovic looks at their newest addition. "So, what can you do?"
Feel free to introduce yourself to us in character Bradley! Description, personality, all that good stuff! Also, you will find me (the player) much kinder than me (the character). Try not to take it personally, Drovic will warm up to you!
"Good, it always helps to have local contacts. Let us get moving."
And I'm that guy that works in the back that nobody makes eye contact with.
