Background
Who are you to the tribe?
An embarrassment. Draz's egg warned the elders of the rot that had set in well before it hatched; as its shell bore stains of gold, so the young Kobold's scales shone a burnished gold. If he hadn't been meek, eager to please and quick to hide his deformity beneath concealing robes and bandages, he might well have been killed or kicked out during his formative years. As matters stand, Draz spends most of his time in the egg-hatchery and the nursery for new hatchlings, seeing to their needs, cleaning up their messes, teaching them their letters and the history of the tribe. What little time is left, he likes to spend reading the books the tribe has acquired over the years, sifting them for knowledge useful to the tribe; this is how he learned Wizardry...

What do you bring to the team when you join up?
Draz has spent a lifetime placating those who feel they have good reason to beat him up or otherwise brutalize him; he is quick with his words, be they mundane or magical. In addition, he will be fine taking care of the mammal hatchling; he isn't squeamish about cleaning up messes or grooming the young, and he'll be fine carrying her.

Why volunteer for this? Why go on such a dangerous mission?
Quite apart from an (for a Kobold) overly powerful parental instinct... Draz has simply had enough. Enough of constantly being kicked around for the colour of his scales. Enough of living underground, in narrow tunnels. Just... enough. Once the mammal hatchling is safe, Draz secretly plans to sneak off and find a destiny that involves wide open spaces and the opportunity to walk tall (as tall as a Kobold can, anyway) and never need to be ashamed of his appearance again. Maybe he'll find another outcast and start a whole new tribe. Or maybe he'll die alone. Whichever it will be, it will be on his terms.

What attachment or relationship do you want to foster with this infant?
Draz will be nanny and defender to the mammal hatchling; he is strong enough to carry a baby, and has the instincts to protect the young and defenceless.
