Considering that Conservatives give to charity at a much higher rate than Liberals, your statement is patently false on the surface. Conservatives believe that such should be an individual choice, not mandated by government. And government should be limited so individual freedom is not squashed, but I guess you like being a slave to the State.

Deston will act a little erratic as is expected of his family and their drug habits. he will also attempt to nudge his date just before he speaks so she will be aware of his attempted distarction. Looking over to Sarah,"Shall we?" as he holds out his arm.

Ahh, just like the rest of our endeavors, a lot of playing and yet we are in the same spot."

Then Deston wanders in an apparently distracted manner to another table and lays down a bet as if the money has little meaning.

Deston will keep an eye on Talic and when he begins to make his way towards the vault Deston will try to precede him so as to provide a distraction for guards there.

Deston wanders towards a table and looks at the game.
"Sarah, come here and let's try this."
He hands her a gold bar and waits for her to throw the dice.

Deston looks at his 'date' and says,"Well, we may as well head towards the vault area. I will act as clueless as I feel at the moment. Maybe we can at least be enough of a distraction so that Talic can get a better look at the vault itself."

Deston looks disgusted and puts his sword away. Then brightening slightly he looks at his sleeves and says,"These should do."
Digging through his gear he pulls out a spring loaded wrist sheath with a coin holder on it. He then places a few copper,silver and gold coins in it. Strapping it to his wrist, Deston then reaches in and pulls out a coin.
"There! A simple coin purse." He says.
He then makes a slight motion and a stiletto appears instantly in his hand.
"Ahh... much better."Deston remarks in a much more relieved voice.

It's a spring loaded wrist sheath from the Adventurers Armory. It is an immediate action to get the dagger loaded in it.

Deston again looks at Celeste in expectation of some other admonition.

Deston begins to buckle on his swordbelt then looks at Celeste.

"Uhh... I can wear this, right?"He asks with a little trepidation.

"I agree."Deston shudders,"I do not relish going to this party, but I suppose that I have no choice."

I agree, and we have to decide how we are going to go tonight since the boy knows us.

I'm OK with Samisel getting those. Also, wonder if something happened to GM he hasn't been on since Sat.

Deston moves up to the blinded guardsman who had the crossbow.

Oops I asked for timezones and then forgot to say mine. I'm on EDT (east US) also.

I'm lucky that I have constant access to the computer during the week at work so I check a lot. I think some of the slowness comes from time differences and we are in a situation currently that relies on our "face" people in the party. Those of us with decidely lacking social graces are letting them shine now :)

Didn't think to check back on this thread. You guys can take what you want from the first loot, I have already got the same armor and the other stuff might help some of you more. As an aside, can everyone tell what area (timezone) they are in so we all have an idea about waiting on posts (esp. for combat).

Deston says to Lynnara,"You or one of the others better question him then, most of the people I have questioned over the last few years were much worse for the wear when I finished."

I make sure that Duncan overhears that part.

Deston then walks to the side of the room and takes a seat to watch.

Deston tells the others what he remembers of the Penderghasts."The note says Duncan so that kind of confirms who this is. It looks like the two younger twins want out of that household. Let's put a little fear in this one and then we can hold out the hope of helping them. We might get some good inside information from them."

"I would hazard to guess that the embroidered P stands for Pendergast and the mother they speak of is probably Emilia. If so, this might present us with an excellent opportunity as they are the ones that own the Calypsia."

"So, now that we have that business taken care of, what information do you have about the night of the fire, Garret?"Deston pointedly asks.
"If you're going to tell me something about ORCA, they were the first ones I suspected. However, after a lot of effort and money, I could find absolutely no connection. In fact, there were several indicators that it was some newer group."

Deston looks back at his companions and approaches Lynnara and Qarxan. He whispers to them,
"When she finishes, could the two of you check me for any type of enchantments or whatever?"
Deston seems very nervous.
If they agree he will nod and go back to the girl

assuming they agreeDeston unbuckles the mask that covers the left side and lower half of his face. The mass of scars is gruesome to behold. He has a perpetual death's grin where the fire has all but eradicated his lips and his left eye is a milky white from the damage.

"Well then I guess there's nobody to love me then because you well know my mother is dead."Deston replies with equal coolness.
"Despite our falling out, Garret, I know you bore my sister and parents no ill will so, unless you are going to carry through with the threat to kill me, I would like to finally know what information you might have about that particular night."Deston casually waves towards the rest of the group."The others with me are also interested in any information regarding ORCA's new prisoner. She threw something to one of them as she was being transported through the crowd this morning."
Deston then meaningfully places his hand on the hilt of his sword as he stares down Garret.

"We are here to speak with Garret. Tell him that Deston Praevelle is asking for him." Turning to the others Deston says with a wry smile," That ought to provoke an interesting reaction."

"Samisel, your mount should be safe enough here. I will go speak to the owner so he is aware that we aren't all foriegners and that will help keep him more honest. Also, it might lower or negate any "insurance" we may have to pay for his safekeeping."Deston looks at the rest of his companions."As Qarxan said, well fought. It was refreshing to be in a fight where I was not alone."

Deston ignores the thief in front of him and takes a running jump to get on the boat before it takes off.

Loading any firearm is a full round action requiring both hands and provokes an attack of opportunity.

New Feat: Quick Load
Benefit: You may load a firearm as a move action. This still provokes an attack of opportunity. If you fire in the same round, you take a -2 to your attack because of the lack of time to aim.

Ammo costs 5 gp for 10 shots w/powder.

There are additional flavor items(racial variances, special ammo, magical items, etc.), but the GM can decide on those, these are just the basics.

I like it so far, pretty neat doing it like this, getting to game with completely different people is a big plus too.

We can go in that tavern and see what we can hear because it's been a long while since I've been here and I'm not exactly current on events." Deston pauses and frowns. "If we need more info, there is someone here that I know that would be well informed. I am loathe to talk with him as we did not exactly part on good terms, but he also might have some other information that I am in need of."

Deston watches the guard as he approaches Talic and prepares to intervene in Talic's behalf.
Deston REALLY dislikes those ORCA guys.
