Story:

Deodin was born in Calembel, near the Ciril River in Gondor. His father was a sergeant in the local militia. Growing up, he heard tales of battling orcs and goblins that the militia have fought over the years. When Deodin came of age, he joined the militia with visions of glory and honor. The training was long and arduous, but he endured and learned how to use a shield in ways most warriors only dreamed.

For years, the young man served to the best of his ability. Fending off raids Easterlings and some orcs. Then came the day when the annual caravan headed to Bree to trade with merchants from the Shire. The sea portion of the voyage was uneventful, but the land trek proved to more hazardous than usual. Constant bandit raids plagued them day and night. Just south of Bree was the worst and the caravan was lost. Deodin awoke in a bed, wounds cleaned and bandaged, of a Bree farmer.

After recovering his full strength, the Gondorian warrior headed into Bree to purchase supplies for the trip back home. It was there he met a hobbit asking for escort back to the Shire. Not being one to turn down a call for help, Deodin accepted. They were off the next morning.
