Did an exhaustive search and was unable to find this addressed.

It’s practically impossible to catch yourself on a wall while falling. Make a Climb check (DC = wall’s DC + 20) to do so. It’s much easier to catch yourself on a slope (DC = slope’s DC + 10).

If a Create Pit spell is cast and creatures over the pit fail their save, can they then use the Climb skill (DC 45) to catch themselves?

So if I cast the spell and a creature adjacent (described as a slope in the spell) fails his Reflex save - does it then get to make a DC 35 Climb check to avoid falling into the pit?

The spell description simply says that a failed save results in a fall. But the skill seems to allow yet another attempt to avoid taking damage.

Just want to make sure we have a consistent and RAW-compliant solution.

I'm trying to create the "drinky-est" cleric ever. Any advice on how to improve his adherence to theme would be appreciated.

Porthos Irongut
Human Cleric (Cayden Cailean)

STR 13
DEX 08
CON 14
INT 12
WIS 20 (17+2+1)
CHA 16

Porthos is wise and affable, but he is nearly always tipsy and unsteady on his feet.

Traits:
World Traveler, Fortified Drinker

Domains:
Charm, Travel

Domain Spells:
Charm Person (hey, buddy!), Calm Emotions (whoa, friend...let's talk this over), Fly (Whoo!)

Porthos is well traveled, having drank his way across the continent, and has many entertaining tales to tell.

Variant Channeling:
Ale/Wine

Porthos is able to project his drunkenness to enemies, or his iron stomach to friends.

Feats:
1) Combat Casting
1) Catch Off Guard
3) Selective Channeling
5) Improved Channeling

Porthos uses a huge table leg as his primary weapon (improvised weapon). He acquired the table leg when in a drinking contest with an Ettin. Hence the Catch Off Guard feat.
Selective Channeling and Improved Channeling are to improve his ability to nauseate his enemies while leaving his friends alone.

In the future I plan to give him the Throw Anything feat as well.

Items:
Giant table leg [damage as greatclub]
Breastplate +1
Amulet of Natural Armor +2

Am I missing anything, thematically or mechanically?

I'm working out ways to foil bringing back an assassinated VIP. So far it looks like the Clone spell is economic and powerful. All it requires is to keep a 1" cube of flesh preserved and hidden somewhere.

If the subject that was assassinated is turned into an undead, will this prevent a clone from being created?

I noticed that all types of Raise, Resurrection...even Wish and Miracle can't bring back someone turned into undead. But I don't see this prohibition for Clone.

Is it just a general rule that the undead status blocks all attempts to revive a dead person - or is Clone really the sneaky back door that is more powerful than all other spells?

Would appreciate any insight into this. Thanks!
