I'm really looking forward to tanking out. Straight fighter going out and kicking ass and taking names across the land Conan style. Once I've run that through, I'll swing back for some wizard time, taking the intellectual path.

I personally have found that the xp for each adventure is approximately correct. My group (6 characters and their cohorts) skipped Karran-Kurral and are about to walk (fully rested) into the final battle at the tree against Dyr'ryd, Sheb and "The Jester" at 16th level. They are a smart group, well prepared with buffs from good Commune questions, so I expect them to succeed even though they are lower than the expected level.

Our party also found the battle at the tree to be somewhat easier than expected, and I believe we were average 15/16th at the time. Good strategy will help any party overcome this one.

Our party never ventured far from Cauldron and the only time we left the locale of Cauldron was by teleport to a large city for the purposes of selling and buying. Though, overall, our setting was Forgotten Realms, we placed Cauldron in the South near the jungles of Chult.

We just finished our several years SCAP campaign a couple weeks ago. It's been a lot of fun to finally be able to read all the posts in these forums. My own character in the campaign, a bard, was the one to gain the Smoke Eye template. He died 4 times during the campaign. Of the other 5 players, as I recall, only one (our wizard), survived the campaign without dying at least once.

Our DM played this well using the CR30 Blaspheme. He used it to kill off the entire party except the Smoking Eye character (myself actually). Then through another plot device he gave me the opportunity to make use of a wish spell to "turn back one recent event". In essence, he left he party's fate up to me.
