Background:
Deivon Jafi was born into a Varisian traveling caravan family. He was born under the sign of the Stargazer in the cosmic caravan, a sign that proved to be quite accurate. His grandmother instructed Deivon in the geography of the stars, and how to use them to navigate. She also taught him the faith of Desna, the goddess who had created and arranged the stars in their heavenly formations. Young Deivon was an eager student, and took to these lessons well.
However, when Deivon looked up and watched Desna and her creations, she also watched him, and saw what he could become. One night, when he was twelve, Desna revealed to him the grand vastness of the heavens. He saw the planets whirling around the Sun. He saw all the stars of the galaxy, spinning around the center. And he saw the beauty of Desna's palace on the North star. In that moment of revelation, Deivon's eyes were burned by the radiance of uncountable stars. But, though he could no longer see them, he didn't need to. They were a part of him now, and he would always remember.
In the six years since, Deivon has only scratched the surface of his power. He managed to use healing magic to regain some of his sight, but nowhere near enough to see the stars again. When he came of age, he left his family to seek whatever destiny Desna has waiting for him. However, he has found himself just as nomadic as they were, as his goddess is one of travel. He now finds himself in the town of Sandpoint, awaiting the consecration of a new temple.
Appearance & Personality:
Deivon is clearly Varisian in origin, with a tan complexion and numerous tattoos in the style of his people. He is somewhat small in height and build, standing slightly more than 5 feet. He wears leather armor, openly displays his Desnan holy symbol, and bears a pair of starknives at his sides.
As a wandering traveler, Deivon is almost insatiably curious about the world around him, including people, places, and cultures. He is eager to meet new people and hear there stories, and trades his own stories easily. As he has yet to experience anything truly tragic, Deivon's outlook on the world is relentlessly optimistic, nearly to the point of naiveness.
