The intent is the same, yes. But note the last sentence of the definition I provided. I've been able to download my purchased files as many times as I would like onto as many devices as I need to with no problems or time limitations. Just some extra characters imprinted onto my pages to prove that I own them.

The purpose of DRM is to prevent unauthorized redistribution of digital media and restrict the ways consumers can copy content they've purchased. DRM products were developed in response to the rapid increase in online piracy of commercially marketed material, which proliferated through the widespread use of peer-to-peer file exchange programs. Typically DRM is implemented by embedding code that prevents copying, specifies a time period in which the content can be accessed or limits the number of devices the media can be installed on. None of these things are strictly applicable to the watermarking system that paizo, drivethru.com, and most other online pdf retailers use to mark their documents.
Wow, thanks everyone. A lot of good ideas in here. I'm especially liking the spire defender. With the right traits the concept could be functional pretty much at first level and the rogue levels would only make it better. I also like the look of the Shadow Magus, though. It balanced ok with out of the book characters? Thanks again for all the suggestions. I've got a lot to kick around.
I'm looking to build a character based on Corvo from Dishonored who supplements stealth and precision attacks with spellcasting. If possible I would like the character to be functional in both disciplines at first level, so I'm thinking either a base class or an archetype of some kind would be the way to go. Unfortunately I lack the experience to come up with such a thing and be completely comfortable with balance, so I'm curious what the boards suggest. Any advice?
Hmm. I was actually really intrigued by the concept. I'd love to be able to play a spellcaster/assassin kind of character in the style of Dishonored (for example) that works at first level without having to multiclass. I'd be interested if anyone had any thoughts about bringing this archetype down to a balanced level.
Sometime in a few months my group is going to be starting up the Reign of Winter AP. Since I like to play melee characters, and since at least one, possibly more, of the other players are looking at playing winter witches, I'm thinking of doing a half Ulfen/ Half Orc designed to be a big strong meatshield and protect the squishy casty types. Right now my plan is to multiclass Viking archetype fighter and witchguard archetype ranger, take tribal scars, and go axe and shield, but I want to optimize as much as I can within my concept. Any suggestions? Thanks for reading. |
