Could someone please direct me to the proper place to post my item critique? I think I found an acceptable thread but I wanted to run it by folks who know and understand forums better than I. (More of a YouTube guy myself.) Treads of Momentum
Description The wearer of these dark brown leather boots never quite feels perfectly settled on the ground. Upon close inspection a faint change in color is apparent across the sole. Like the opalescence of a sea shell it shifts from pale blue at the top to murky grey at the bottom. Any round in which a wearer of these boots does not use their full speed in a movement action they may add the difference to their move speed the next round. The wearer must move at least 10 feet for this effect to apply and the bonus speed lasts only for the next round. If the wearer uses the Bull Rush Combat Maneuver they surge forward as a torrent of water. They may apply their accrued bonus movement to the additional distance they push their target back. Could someone tell me whether it is permissible to record a review/playtest of the new classes from the Advanced Class Guide? We'd likely go one of two ways:
I intend on posting this video to my YouTube channel. Many thanks for any feedback! Andrew/DawnforgedCast
I'm an Elementary school teacher, a Game Master and a Player and I have yet to find an entry in which all three of these aspects are satisfied. Good concept but poor formatting and writing.
I have also found I really shy away from liking the items that all but force one player into the spotlight to the detriment of the rest of the group. A lot of these items would be great if there were only one player and the GM at the table, but, given that most games usually have a bunch of other people there, should we really have items that one person uses while the rest of the group waits for ten minutes for it to be resolved? Anyone else feel that way?
Is it against the spirit of the game to plan out your party before you play? Is it metagaming to go in with the "ideal" party, with all skills covered and none of them being redundant? Should players play what they want and care little for a balanced party or is the balanced party an essential element of the game? Your input would be much appreciated on this topic!
A player has gotten themselves killed, or you did it, or they just got bored and let their character wander off. Now they want to play someone new. How do you bring this new character in to an already ongoing story? It isn't as hard as you might think! In this video you'll find three main avenues to go down in order to bring a new character into the group: 1. Connecting the new character to the old
If this is something you struggle with please take a look! As always please feel free to expand on what I offer here by leaving a comment or video response with your own tips or suggestions.

Hail and well met fellow gamers. I had a viewer ask me about the Master Chymist Prestige class and whether levels in that stacked with Alchemist for the purposes of Extra Discovery being using. I've compiled the question, some research and some thoughts in this video. I'd love to have your thoughts on the issue as well! Additionally on the channel you will find rules discussion, live gaming sessions and many other gaming related topics. Your feedback and contributions to the conversation we have going about all the wondrous aspects of our hobby would be much appreciated. Monday Night Gaming (Live Sessions)

Hail and well met fellow gamers. On the latest in the series I am asked whether the feat Improved Critical is overpowered and speculate myself on whether weapon damages are appropriate. This is one of many videos which attempts to answer questions submitted by the community or generated in one of our live games, which elicits responses from intelligent gamers like you. Questions are asked and answers are give and all benefit. Join in, won't you?
Do you have your own DMing philosophy? Had a great DM? Let me know! We'd love to hear those stories! The Dungeon Master's Philosophy Andrew
I've started dating someone and she doesn't know a thing about table top gaming. So I thought to put together a series of videos in an effort to win her over to our side by making it a bit less confusing. I hope I am successful. Please let me know if I've left anything out or made an error in any way! This one is well worth the effort to have at the table. :)
Hail and well met fellow gamers! My name is Andrew Armstrong and I run a YouTube Channel devoted to tabletop gaming (and a few other things). Our most popular series has been the Monday Night Gaming series in which we record and broadcast many of our sessions. Additionally there are a series of videos on Dungeon Mastering (DM Basics) and Rules Discussion (Is It Legit?!). I thought to begin combining these elements into a new show called The Forge, where all of these elements are discussed in the form of an interview with a fellow gamer (Sean Conners of TheOutsiders68 is the first). In this interview we discuss upcoming gaming events, gaming rules, tips for DMs and players alike and even do a bit of roleplaying in the RP Showdown. Overall I really enjoyed the conversation and I think you will too. Please check out The Forge here: Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and happy gaming!
Thanks for the feedback on this guys. I ended up dropping the character only to replace it with another seemingly broken combination, particularly that of a Sacred Shield Paladin with Antagonize. I made another video about that which most of the feedback said it was a legit character. I'm still not entire sure though.

Yeah, there is still a lot I have to learn about the policies and protocols of forum posting.
This question came up more than any other in response to my other videos: “I love Dungeons and Dragons but I’m having a really challenging time putting a group together. It is hard to find people to play with!” So I set out to make this, to offer a few tips that I’ve found effective in my own life, both concerning one’s public approach to talking about table top gaming and where one goes to find and meet other gamers. Tips for Forming a Gaming Group If you find yourself in this predicament or would just like to be entertained for a bit do check it out, and feel free to let us know whether this was effective for you or not. Happy gaming! Andrew
Hello gamers! Allow me to introduce a new series I’ve been working on called DM Basics. 9 videos are up so far, largely focusing on Campaign Building, and addressing such topics as World Building, Integrating Player Backgrounds, Adding Immersion, Creating a Gaming Group and many more. Additionally this series has a companion series called Monday Night Gaming, which is a recorded session of my friends and I playing in a campaign. Monday Night Gaming has entered its second season and has 20 videos now. Each session of the new season will also come with a special recipe crafted by one of our players. Primo gaming food! Please check these videos out and, if you feel so inclined, leave some feedback, both on the quality of the videos as well as how we might improve our play. Many thanks for your time and happy gaming! Andrew/DawnforgedCast
I made a video for my question. Is This Legit? Step Up and Pushing Assault. Please leave some feedback! I'd love to hear all manner of views on this issue. |
