"Diplomancy, eh," says Daufni quietly. "This should be interesting."

"Yuki's right," says Daufni. "The mayor wants the goblins gone. Killin' 'em or chasin' 'em off does the same thing. Besides, we still need to find out where they got the fireworks from."

"Burnin' down the village might set the whole marsh on fire." Daufni points around to all the trees. "We don't want to risk that. But we should try to find out what happened here."

Pointing to the fire pit, she says "Someone, or something, killed those goblins."

Daufni, believing the left side is taken care of, moves around the pit and attacks the nearest (pink) goblin.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Daufni re-adjusts her grip on her sword and takes another swing.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Crit: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

"Well," Daufni shrugs, "we tried to be nice."

Daufni swings at the goblin that attacked her.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
It's safe to assume that that missed, but just in case:
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 (Ouch!)

Daufni also wants to know what happened, but she still has a job to do. "See if you can find out where their leader is," suggests Daufni. "I think his name is Gut...somethin'." And in a lower voice to everyone, "Remember, we're tryin' to get them to leave, not convince them it's okay to stay."

"Hey!' Daufni shouts into the building. "Where are you and why are you hiding?"

"I'm with Yuki. We should check out these. . . 'buildin's' just to make sure we aren't leavin' anythin' behind.

Daufni goes with Yuki to the shack door. Weapon drawn, she'll put her hand briefly on the other girl's shoulder and then move past her into the building.

Daufni will investigate the bones by the pond.

Daufni takes a few steps inside the gate. If she is not attacked, she will move forward and investigate the smoking pit.

Daufni peeks into the village, then stands up straight. She looks back at her companions and signals for them to approach.

Seeing no lookouts or guards, Daufni moves up to the sundered gate and peeks into the courtyard.

I'm going in on the opposite side of the gate from the pond.

Daufni whispers "I don't see anythin' movin' inside. I'll sneak around and see if I can get a better look"
She moves a little bit away from the group and attempts to stealthily move towards the shattered gate. She also looks for evidence of what shattered them.
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11If I need Tracking instead, +1.

"Looks like somebody got here first. We should check it out."
Daufni looks about for signs of movement. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

"The goblin tracks cross the trail, not go along it. Also, the attacks took place on the road, not the trails. The culprits, whoever they are, presumably fled into the marsh to escape and would not use the trails to do so."

As the group moves along the trail, Daufni looks for tracks or traces of any creatures using or crossing it.

Daufni listens to the planning and finally speaks up. "Why set traps at all? The mayor and sheriff want the Licktoads gone. Trappin' one or two goblins a day is not a very efficient use of our time. They breed faster than that." She looks around at the group. "We should go in, find 'em, and kick 'em out of the marsh."

"As for Old Megus..." she continues. "If Walthus was attacked in his own home, maybe someone should check up on her. It's not like we're pesterin' her, or anything."

Daufni listens to everyone's introductions and comments before replying."Well, I'm finished here. And I'm not due back for a few hours." She looks behind her and points with her thumb. "Let me get my gear and we'll see about those gobbos."

As she readies her pack and slings it over her shoulder she asks "who's life did you save, anyway?"

Daufni had just finished cleaning up in the barn when she heard the whistle. The other guardsmen had left for Sandpoint a little over an hour ago, leaving the newbie to clean up the mess they made last night. Must be some initiation ritual, or something. After grabbing her sword, she went around the house to see what the commotion was about.

As she rounds the house, she sees the 4 people approaching. She immediately recognizes the white wolf and his rider and waves. She listens as Mari makes her introduction. "Hey, Mari," she says in reply. "Nah. We were on our way back from a prisoner transfer to Magnimar. The others went on to town, but I stayed behind to clean up." Looking up at the group behind Mari, "I knew the boss, er Sheriff, was thinkin' about findin' some adventurous types to deal with the gobbos. I thought about doin' it myself, but I like thinkin' I'm not stupid." She looks at the others, "doin' it by myself, I mean."

Hi Everyone!

I'll be joining your group shortly. Daufni is a switch-hitting ranger and has been living in Sandpoint for several years. She has recently joined the town guard. Other stuff will probably come out in RP.

I've been playing table-top games for decades, but pbp for only a short while.
