Let's see you dodge this!

Darvan flips open one of the pouches on his belt and pulls out a shuriken. As he throws it, the shuriken cackles with energy.

Shuriken Attack and Damage: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 221d2 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + (2, 5) = 8

As the shuriken hits the creature, it explodes in a fiery burst.

As am I...

Darvan puts away his flask and puts his hand in his pockets. He is a tall, slender man, and there is something odd about him. He has two swords sheathed in their scabbards on each side of him. On his belt, the buckle depicts a head of a cat. Attached to his belt are about 6 pouches, each seem to be filled with something.

Upon seeing Elise speak up, Darvan walks up to her.

I don't believe we've met before, I am Darvan the Purifier, but you can just call me Darvan.

He smirks and takes a swig of some sort of liquid in a flask.

The ninja I'm playing is level 6, so improved critical isn't currently an option

Yes under the literal definition for haft the hilt of a sword qualifies but when most people (myself included) think of the word haft they picture longer hafts suck as the staff portion of a great ax, naginata, or scythe. Under that logic the best weapon you could get to qualify for wyroot would be a nodachi.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the "haft" requirement. I'd imagine a sword would not qualify. I think a nodachi is something you'd have to ask the specific GM about, since, really, it's just a big sword. Though Pathfinder does classify it as a pole arm for some reason. Keep in mind, it's described as having a 4 foot blade, and it is not a reach weapon, so how much "haft" can it have? It's one of the best weapons in the game already, and it's probably got the best argument for an 18-20 crit range weapon that works with wyroot. Maybe the fauchard would also qualify (unless that's assumed to have a metal shaft).

I suppose the sansetsukan and the heavy flail would also qualify for other 19-20 crit range options. The sansetsukan has the advantage (like the dan bong) of having the "monk" weapon quality, though Monks are not proficient with it. It's bashing, though, so no making it Keen. Improved Critical is still an option.

None of these, of course, are weapons the Ninja is proficient with, though most are martial not exotic, and a nodachi might be worth a feat, a level dip into fighter, or using Heirloom Weapon/masterwork transformation. It's just that good already, and if your GM rules it works with wyroot, it's a fantastic weapon for a THF ninja. I generally play PFS, so unfortunately wyroot is not legal for my ninja or my monk.

I am the DM! I was just trying to figure out how he's broken, and apparently he isn't.

doesn't that mean that it can any weapon that has a handle can be wyroot?

sorry then, I would really like to use this character as he is, I'll just make a campaign so that way I have a sure way to use him

From the D20pfsrd

The root of the wyrwood tree has a peculiar quality. When a weapon constructed of wyroot confirms a critical hit, it absorbs some of the life force of the creature hit. The creature hit is unharmed and the wyroot weapon gains 1 life point. As a swift action, a wielder with a ki pool or an arcane pool can absorb 1 life point from the wyrwood weapon and convert it into either 1 ki point or 1 arcane pool point. Most wyroot weapons can only hold 1 life point at a time, but higher-quality wyroot does exist. The most powerful wyroot weapons can hold up to 3 life points at a time. Any unspent life points dissipate at dusk.

Wyroot can be used to construct any melee weapon made entirely of wood or a melee weapon with a wooden haft. Constructing a wyroot weapon that can hold 1 life point increases the weapon's cost by 1,000 gp, constructing one that can hold up to 2 life points increases the weapon's cost by 2,000 gp, and constructing one that can hold up to 3 life points increases the weapon's cost by 4,000 gp.

I am back, and I've made some mistakes with my equipment, the poison costs half for my ninja, and the armor costs twice than what I've paid for, I am still working it out. The belt just costs a little less than half my gold, and I just don't feel like deleveling him

masterwork

This is true. However

1.)Ninja's are non-proficient in the Terbutje.
2.)He probably is a weapons finesse character and needs light weapons to reliably hit. Am I right Darvan?

Yep

Get a +1 keen kama or siangham made of wyroot. They are wooden weapons, and are finessable. should cost you about 9,302 gp for one ki point, 10,302 for 2 points, and 12,302 for 3.

Keen is a +1 enchantment bonus, and wyroot adds +1000 for 1 ki, 2000 for 2 ki, and 4000 for 3 ki, so how'd you calculate your prices?

what weapon do you think I should get keen on? It must be able to have some wyroot on it

One thing i do find op is how much stealth rouges and ninjas can get, right now my ninja has 24 stealth :P

I didn't feel like maximizing stealth, since I already had 22 dex 0.0

My GM mostly thinks it's op because he says that is like a class that is basically a rouge and monk smashed together

I have 8 ki and I do have vanishing trick, good observation.

also, I didn't know there was such an item that could do that.

What weapon has that much crit range btw?

I didn't mean full round attack, i meant as in he doesn't move and then do all of that, or do you mean I can't use ki charge and flurry of stars in one round?

The leprosy is just in case i die, I leave them a special present :P

anyway, it would cost 4 ki to do that, and like i said, poison isn't cheap.

One of my players/GM thinks that ninjas are op

My ninja is level 6 and here is the most damage he can do:

3d2 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) = 59d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 6, 1, 4, 3, 3, 6) = 316d12 ⇒ (4, 9, 11, 3, 3, 8) = 38+three chances of catching leprosy+3 con damage

Now, this is only if he does the following:

Uses Flurry of stars ninja trick
Uses Ki charge on each shuriken
Throws 3 Viriduim shuriken
poisons each shuriken with sasson leaf residue
gets a sneak attack
gets a full round action
enemy fails 3 DC 16 fort saves
enemy fails 3 DC 16 ref saves

This costs about 500 gold to do btw

Feats:

Stealthy
Weapon Finesse
Skill Focus (Stealth)
Extra Ki

Ninja Tricks:

Flurry of Stars
Ki Charge
Vanishing Trick

Traits:

Rich Parents
(To be determined)

Post when you've at least looked at it.

Scabbard Lined with Lead

150 Shuriken
50 Cold Iron Shuriken
5 Adamantine Shuriken
5 Viridium Shuriken
50 Alchemical Silver Shuriken

His wife has the feats craft magic arms and armor, and also has the feat craft wondrous items. The ninja himself has craft (Alchemy) so poisons cost half price.

He still has some gold left to spend, and I am considering removing some items. I've calculated his gold spent, down to the nearest copper piece.

It will take awhile for me to post this, some stats are in my profile.

I would like to play, problem is, I've been looking forward to using my ninja, and he's level 6, he is already fully built. I know what sources I used to build him, here they are:
