Octavonius listens to the back and forth for a moment before rubbing his eyes. "I'm afraid I've been too long removed from society to really understand much of this. Debt is a word I've heard but not yet had the luxury to encounter. Having a physician, if she is indeed a good one, in our pocket could be beneficial in the long run. A little gold spent in her favor now could save us much more in the future. If we find her services agreeable I am more than willing to offer up coin from my own purse to buy her allegiance to our cause."

After over a year of playing prepared spellcasters I can easily say that was one of the quickest and most satisfying prepared spells I've ever managed to pull off! Going into this adventure blind and I was hoping that maybe we'd run into another dangerous plant to have the spell do something, very pleasantly surprised it was a swarm of all things!

Also wanted to take this space to say how much I am enjoying this story and everyone's characters so far. Chill players playing not so chill characters is always a fun combo haha

Octavonius makes a mental note on the statue's significance. His eyes dart in the direction of Whisperwood. If things got bad enough in this town, he could find himself having to survive out there in the wilds. Even with his meager magics he doubts he'd survive long.

"Good job!" Ohd squawks in Infernal in regards to Aurelius' performance. "Good talk!"

Though he knows the bird dosent mean it, Octavonius can't help but infer meaning from the croaked words. Yes, they will need to do a lot more 'good jobs' here to avoid a very messy end. He staggers over to stand just beside Aurelius. The boy was quickly growing to be a very important piece of the puzzle. Though the old man couldn't protect him much physically he had at least one or two spells that could help defend him in a pinch.
