About Darius Gulzar
Viewed from afar, he appears to be a tall figure in a turban, desert robes draping from his broad shoulders and a long, curved blade and a quiver strapped to his back. When he slips out of the shadows, the green pallor of his skin and small, protruding tusklets are clear indications he's not entirely human.
His backstory...
The Qadirans celebrated their defeat of the raid by the Savage Tusks, but the Orcs had left at least one shameful result. When the Agha confirmed her daughter's dishonor, she quickly disposed of the problem, selling her and her swollen belly in the markets of Sedeq.
A local caravan master knew that the half-breeds often grew quickly to be strong, if not always quick-witted, assets and purchased the grey-skinned boy. Indeed, as he grew, he showed special promise at protecting the caravan from his own kin, until one caravan was betrayed and only a handful escaped the assault.
The slave knew he had been tremendously lucky. Neither his grandmother nor his mother smothered him in the womb, his master had been rather benignly neglectful, and he survived a calamitous attack that killed all he knew. Unsure of what to do, he retrieved a little gear and gold from the remains of the caravan, and headed to Absalom. A traveler, someone who called herself a Pathfinder, once had said it was the best place in the world for a half-breed...
