Male Human Sorcerer 1
Having never been to Falcon's Hollow, Dannic is a bit taken aback by the other's reactions. It does seen a bit quiet, the only thing Dannic can think is that the slavers have scared people into staying home by ambushing them on the road. "This slave ring may be a bigger problem than we thought. Tiberius, is there someone in town you can trust?"
Male Human Sorcerer 1
"I figured as much, we'll set out first thing in the morning. We don't have the coin to purchase horses." Looking over at the others he says, "I'm going home to tell Ma what's going on and get one more night in my own bed. I'll meet you back here at dawn."
Male Human Sorcerer 1
"Thank you sheriff. We'll get these folks taken care of, then we set out for Falcon's Hollow in the morning? Sheriff, I know this is asking a lot and I don't know if you even have it to give, but do you have horses we can use for the trip to Falcon's Hollow? The faster we get there the better it is for everyone." Diplomacy if needed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Male Human Sorcerer 1
"Where is your family? Perhaps they could be spirited away and replaced by some folks who don't care much for slavery. What do you think Garreck? You know of any volunteers?" Dannic turns back towards the slaver and tells him, "You will face the consequences for your crimes, but we will do our best to protect your family. You need to tell us what you know about the operation so we can get moving as quickly as possible."
Male Human Sorcerer 1
"I told you, I'm not going to hurt you. You already know I can affect your mind. I can make you talk if I have to. I'm giving you the chance to talk of your own accord and possibly keep your head. I'm also not sure my associates will give you a better offer either. You're slaving days are over. I just want to know who you're working for." Bluff roll if needed 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Male Human Sorcerer 1
"Garreck! Get him tied up quick!" Dannic looks over the ragtag bunch of slaves to see if any are wounded. "Don't worry, we'll get you back to the village and if he," Dannic glares at the slave driver, "tries anything else one of these 2 large gentlemen will make him wish he hadn't." Dannic grins at Garreck and Tiberius adding, "I do believe a visit to the magistrate is in order and I for one would love to know where he was heading."
Male Human Sorcerer 1
LOL...niiiiiiiice. And you thought the dice gods hated you;p I didn't have time to check it when I posted this morning, but that's just awesomely bad. I think there is a 1 point minimum, had it come up with kobolds before. In any case, I think that roll and Garreck's quote might become my new sig tomorrow:)
Male Human Sorcerer 1
The map isn't showing up for me, but it doesn't make any difference. I'm aware of the AoO, but Dannic won't stand by while the slave is threatened.
Attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4 Damage: 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4
Male Human Sorcerer 1
Dannic sighs as he realizes the slave will die if he doesn't act. Knowing he can't get a spell off in time, he grips his staff tightly and runs directly at the slaver. "Let him GO! I don't believe I can charge him, so I will run up to him to make sure he is threatened if he attempts to kill the slave.
Male Human Sorcerer 1
Dannic cranes his neck to look up at the newcomer. "We should definitely stay together, but I would like to see how many guards they have before we attack. If we get lucky we could overwhelm the guards before the others can react."
Male Human Sorcerer 1
Taking the offered hand Dannic says, "Dannic Ortha, welcome to Pirren's Bluff Tiberius." Listening to the conversation, Dannic's eyes narrow as he puts the pieces together. "Slave traders? Why don't you talk to Ablamar, Garreck? I'll take our new friend to get him fed and you can meet up with us there. I don't have the coin to buy food, but Ma won't fixin something up for him."
Male Human Sorcerer 1
Dannic rubbed his eyes and willed himself out of bed as the sun blasted through his window. He had agreed to do some cleaning and errands for the smith Ablamar that morning. Dashing out the door with barely a word to his mother, he hurried over to the smithy.
Male Human Sorcerer 1
Dannic is always around town doing odd jobs. He can be very flexible in where and how he could meet any of you. He doesn't do much physical labor, but between prestidigitation and his natural charisma he can usually get enough work to scrape by. He doesn't tell people about the magic yet because he's afraid of being run out of town. He knows the distrust most people have of wizards and that they would see him in much the same way.
Here is the full version of Dannic
Dannic: 1. Dannic-Sorcerer, until recently taking on odd jobs to scrape by
2. Dannic is an affable young man, just coming into his own. He is just learning to deal with his newfound powers. He has taken almost every odd job in town and isn’t above laying it on a little thick to squeeze a few extra coppers from an employer. He can’t stand a bully and delights in embarrassing them. He is generous with what little he has and is always willing to help someone in need. Anger can cloud his judgment when dealing with slavers and bullies. 3. Dannic hates slavery and bullying with every fiber of his being. He is opposed to killing unless it is absolutely necessary, preferring to humble and shame people who take advantage of others. As he has always been a little smaller and weaker than most of the other boys his age, he learned the value of a quick wit and a kind word both. Lying and stealing to achieve an objective is OK as a tactical move or in matter of survival. Using mind affecting magic is acceptable when dealing with slavers and bullies, especially to embarrass them or teach them a lesson or in a life threatening situation. 4. Dannic’s father was captured by slavers when he was 8 years old and he has always felt guilty for being able to escape. He and his mother got by doing odd jobs around town until at the age of 15 Dannic began to display some magical ability. It was minor, for instance, when he wished out loud one day that a particularly frustrating knot would come out of a rope, it did completely on its own. As his power started to grow he realized he had a knack for compulsion spells (fey bloodline). He decided there was no better way to get back at slavers than to control their minds just as they tried to control another's body. He realized the slippery slope he was walking and vowed to never use his mind effecting magic except against slavers and other oppressors or unless he was in mortal danger. He views his use of enchantments as fighting fire with fire. He has drawn the ire of a local thug, Bildon Greenwold, by dazing him and letting his latest victim get away. 5. Friends: Mother Helena, potentially Tiberius as they share a similar outlook Foes: Bildon Greenwold 6. Short term goal: Free the slaves in this shipment, cause a dent in local slave operations, embarrass and potentially get Bildon arrested. Medium term goals: Eliminate slave trading in the immediate area, establish some sort of charity for victims of the slave trade Long term goals: Help undermine the Chelaxian government and abolish their slave trade. 7. Poor judgment at times, balancing his desire for freedom against his talent for mind control magic 8. In profile. 9. In profile.
