About Damon Wayang
Damon and his wizard twin brother Marlin were both part of a Wayang tribe in Tian Xia. As is typical of their species they kept to themselves, hiding from the humans and other folk out there who would abuse and murder them. Damon was stupid compared to the rest of his people, and especially compared to his brother, however he was far more agile and a lot stronger than his brother. He knows he's stupid and looks to his brother for guidance in all things, but as the stronger of the two he takes his brother's safety as his personal responsibility.
Sure enough, a group of outsiders, humans mostly, did such a thing, slaughtering the entire tribe so they could steal a powerful shadow artifact. Damon and Marlin hid in the shadows and were luckily not discovered. Damon did not expect their whole tribe to be slaughtered and is still haunted by the fact that he didn't help defend them.
The enemy took their fallen, but some of their emblems remained; though torn and stained with blood and dirt a golden snake on a shield could be seen. With this knowledge (and one of the emblems in Damon's pocket) they did something unheard of for their people, they left to travel the world. Before doing so though they found another Wayang tribe to put a memorial tattoo for their tribe consisting of the raised white dots typical of their species. Damon's is placed on his forhead.
And so it went with the two survivors seeking vengeance, retribution, and a return of their shadow artifact. Damon used his survival skills to help them survive, all the while learning how best to kill humans, whom he hated for their murderous rampage. Marlin found the name of that particular group of murderers and thieves to be the Aspis Consortium, telling Damon that not all humans were to blame. Damon, the stupid among his people, couldn't understand this and continued to hate them. They immediately sought out any of their enemies, eventually joining the Pathfinder Society. Damon blames much of this death and destruction on the patron deity of his people, Lao Shu Po, seeing her as a curse upon their people. This has soured his view of all deities and their devout worshipers.
