Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Dakash peers down the corridor looking for any obvious traps. perc: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17.

"They wouldn't be so obvious as to have traps in a corridor full of spears would they?"

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Dakash climes down after. As she reaches the last section of the rope, she struggles to support her own weight.

Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Same question as Khere.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Dakash pulls 50 feet of hemp rope out of her pack, uncoiling the end and handing it over to Braydir. "This should be enough to make up the difference. I'm not particularly attached to it, so we can leave it here as we explore under."

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Bow: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 4 = 15

Hearing the commission, Dakash draws her short bow and awkwardly tries to get a shot in around the corner of the entrance way.

draw weapon as move action, take shot. Cover likely applies

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Dakash skips past Braydir into the room. "Play nice boys. I know you're excited, but we're here to work."

As she steps into the room, the samsaran casts her eyes around for anything interesting or out of the ordinary.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

DM:

For ease, Dakash is going to be actively checking for traps as she goes. Here are my next ten "Perception for trap rolls" as appropriate.

Trap1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Trap2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Trap3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Trap4: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Trap5: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Trap8: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Trap9: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Trap10: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Apparently I only have access to view the document. You might need to chance access to edit

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

"Oh, I didn't mean to diminish you boys, but this - nghhhhhhhhh - work is hardly fit for a lady of my skill or beauty!" A flippant laugh bounces off the stone walls.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

assist: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

"Next time - hgnnn - we are bringing - hgnnn - a barbarian or something!" Dakash strains against the stone as she assists.

Know(Rel.): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

"Well, we can't just turn back. That would be unsporting! All those ancient osirini workers who put effort into creating defences against grave robbers? Their time would have been totally wasted if someone doesn't at least try and get past those defences. Let's honour the dead and keep going shall we?" Again, an impish smile starts to play at the corner of Dakash's lips.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

and all the while, Dakash stands behind him - hand on one hip - holding out the crowbar for him to use on the door.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Use the crowbar!

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

"Ooooooh, trapped entrances, plagues of madness, invaders. This is so exciting already! Whelp, best for this lady to get to work." In a swift, well practiced motion, Dakash sweeps a thin silk scarf from her neck and quickly ties her hair well out of her face. She then bobs low under Braydir's out stretches arm to inspect the entrance, rattling around in her pack for some tools.

Perception(Traps): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Dis. Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 If nescessary

Anyone who seems surprised about the thieves tools:

"What? For a while I thought that one of my past lives was a pirate lord. Everyone goes through phases...." Dakash grins lopsidedly, slightly embarrassed.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

only modern osiriani for me, although I comprehend language as a spell

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

We forgot to find out what our favourite tavern's name is! GM, any help?

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

"Akhentepi hey? Well, if we're going to rat around in this guy's final resting place then I'd better make myself acquainted with him. I'll head to the library, and meet you all at the FAVOURITE TAVERN NAME this afternoon?" Dakash quickly notes down the spelling of the dead tomb owner, and happily skips off before anyone can give an answer.

Dakash will head to a nearby library and spend the early part of the afternoon doing research

That was interesting. I just had a very suggestive post-off with my kitsune female... It was almost disastrous. And it was in recruitment as well! I guess this just helps display how well I can RP my kitsune :P

I noticed that whole chain of things. Was not expecting it in a recruitment thread :/

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Dakash holds a mint lolly towards the sky. "Get well soon, GM."

More banter it is. Get well soon!

Haha. Figured the hiccups thing our right before reading this post. Too good :D

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Know(Local): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 To see if Dakash knows anything about Sebti the Crocodile.

Dakash ruffles through her pack and passes Talon a small sucking lolly, wrapped in bright maroon paper. "Here friend, these should help with those hiccups. HiCAWps?" The lolly is mint flavoured.

A little impatient at the wait - if she wanted to stand around all day, why not at the inn instead - Dakash turns her attention to the priestess on stage.

Lol, I'm pretty sure tengu don't say CAW after every sentence:) Otherwise I could just laugh like a hyena every few minutes ;)

Maybe Caydenites CAW when they are excited?! :)

I think we are quite the band of misfits if we are cawing and laughing the entire time though.

What better way to strike fear into our enemies? By the time they hear the CAW and the yapping laughter, it's already too late for them.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

And we're off!

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Dakash grasps the group's copy of the rules. She is finishing reading them out-loud for the second time, excessively over annunciating each third or fourth word to make sure that Dagori catches it all. "If the in-TERRED need to be dis-TERBED to recover an AN-TI-QUI-TY or relic - that's anything we find under there Dagori - they should be re-TURNED to their resting places care-FULLY."

Noticing that the others are trying to hold a conversation, she cuts herself short, smiles impishly and flicks her hair back out of her face. "I'm more than happy to accept that help Khere, and obviously I won't be messing with the long dead. For all I know, I could be messing with my own past corpse. I wonder if that would cause some kind of time paradox?" The young Samsaran's lips purse as she starts to stare off into the distance.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Yep, I'm happy with that version of events.

GM wrote:
Can you tell me a little more about how the Silver Seekers formed and what your group's goals are? Why are you as a group participating in the lottery to investigate tombs?

Unless anyone is opposed, Dakash is probably the one most likely to suggest a bunch of people she met in a bar become her permanent traveling companions. Dakash is constantly looking for anything that could trigger her past memories, and she is certain that one of her past lives was an ancient osirian. As such, the idea of a lottery to explore an ancient tomb seems like it's destined to lead to her past. It seems reasonable that Malik could have previously crossed paths with Dakash as they're both searching for similar evidence and/or looking in similar pools of research material.

GM: I'll check the stats when I get home from work, but I'm fairly certain the plus 8 includes the stone.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

I have the trap skills set up as well, but if we want to shuffle things around I'm happy to do that too. As a samsaran I get bonuses to any two skills, so is there anything the party is missing at the moment?

If not, I'm all set.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Well, I'd be happy to endorse the seekers, and have Dakash repeatedly suggest that the other name was better.

And the ioun stone seems good, I'm happy with it.

EDIT: I'm indifferent with PC romance. I've never really had it come up before.

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Hahaha "Drinking Buddies" is pretty topnotch

Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Haha, well for ease, let's say Dakash spotted Talon walking into a bars month ago and having never met a tengu before, she boldly walked up and started asking him questions about his family, hobbies, favourite animal, relations to non-humanoid birds, thoughts on the afterlife, allergies, favourite childhood memory, and just about anything else several rounds of drink would cover :P

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Female Samsaran Bard (Archeologist) | Perception +8 | HP 8/8

Hey friends! Congrats on getting in :D

Dakash is a whispy female Samsaran, dressed in practical khaki clothing that accentuates the pale blue of her skin. Unlike a lot of Samsarans, Dakash is in a constant sense of wonder at the world around her. Given that she has difficulties remembering her past lives, she is quick to laugh at jokes because she is generally hearing them for the first time. Dakash would describe herself as studious, but she's taken to flights of fancy and often will find herself getting distracted by grand dreams or little things going on around her.

Happy to tie her in anyway that's possible.

Yep, I'm happy.

Ok, here's the alias for Dakash. I'm still mulling over backstory, but some cliffnotes:

- Dakash is a Samsaran bard/archaeolist. She is captivated with studying the past, because unlike all of her brethren, she doesn't feel the echoes of her past lives impacting her.
- Dakash knows that one of her past lives was some how caught up in ancient Osirion, and as such she has made it here life's work to investigate long lost ruins in the hope that something will trigger her past selves and open her up to the great cycle again.
- Dakash is almost certain that in her past life she was some kind of Osirion nobility, although she is prone to flights of fancy...
- Dakash is an ardent worshipper of Orisis, Osirion god of Rebirth. She believes that Osiris is the original maker of the Samsaran race, but again, flights of fancy...
