Daiko gives a nod of thanks to the servers as they set out the food in front of him, then nibbles at a sample of the closest dish as he listens to the priestess. There may be a middle ground though, no? he asks her. You are right that ignoring interpretation or meaning is...meaningless. The sun is hottest during Shizura and Daiket - sorry, your Sarenith and Erastus - but deciding that means clothes should be lighter and water may dry and lower requires interpretation, a basic one at least. But challenging what others have written is not always bad. Other people could have learned things that old scholar did not think of, and that could change their theory. The key would be that the challenger needs to show their work, wouldn't it. So long as they acknowledge they have the burden to prove old thoughts are wrong, we should be willing to listen if they show us why. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 ![]()

As Daiko advances, he begins hurling inventive a against the beast in not just Common, but a blend of Ignan, Auran, and Aquan as well. (the pidgin sentences don’t exactly make sense, but he hopes the mix of strange condiments and sounds seem appropriately intimidating). The tengu ducks and dives as ‘Rovagug’’s arms lash out at him.
