It was a joke.

Kyle, I plan on playing my level 8 Goblin in both Scenarios. Would be awesome to sit at a table with you. He's a bit "twinked" i'll admit, but I figured I'm going to be playing him at as many of these super hard adventures as I could, and many GMs would be gunning to take out one of the few goblins that are out there anyways. PM me if you're interested.

Thanks. I appreciate that. Really that's all it took, everything else had been one line and perhaps I was over reading it, but it did feel as though you were just blowing it all off like you were above it all. Although the fact you'd even respond probably should have been an indicator that wasn't the case. And I didn't realize you'd been working on your day off. I only emailed you directly because it was the contact point on the gencon ticket site.
I didn't come here and start pointing fingers or blaming anyone. Not sure why some of you feel the need to jump down my throat. I came to make 2 clear points, one of which is that I'm looking for tickets. I don't follow the PFS website closely, and I don't go to Gencon typically for the event games. I've been going for 15 years now, and didn't start doing the PFS events there until just last year (Gencon and Living campaigns weren't as wild back when I played). I'd heard they sell out quickly, but getting into the special was one of my primary goals for this years GenCon. Sorry if the thought of sending out your own email was completely unreasonable on my account. Clearly the fact is the tickets sold out, so what's it matter really who you reach out too. Another top notch PR response from you Mike. Perhaps it's just the internet that makes you sound short in your responses.

To be honest, I've never been one to rush out and book my events for GenCon. I play a few PFS mods (previously living greyhawk), and otherwise I'm just there for the convention itself. Last year was the first time I'd play a PFS special, perhaps next year toss a "GenCon tickets go on sale" notice into the Paizo Newsletter you email out to society members?
I agree Jeff. One part of me wants to b%*%% and complain about it, but at the same time...it was a nightmare last year and it only makes sense. It just sucks that 2 weeks after event registration opens I'm way too late to order tickets, and I'm sure they were all gone within that first day or two if it was anything like last year's registration.
So I am obviously behind on my scheduling this year, but the special for this year is already sold out. So I decided to send PFS a polite email and see how it would be handled this year. Those of you not in the know, last year was a nightmare with generic tickets at the door. I wanted to see if I would be able to get in this year with a generic ticket, and more importantly...if I would be able to sit at a table with my friends. This was the official email I received: "Agreed that last year was a mess. This year, we aren't seating generics for the special at all due to lessons learned." This post is for 2 reasons really...not to stir up drama. 1.) Let others know that if you haven't pre-registered for the event...you are also SOL. 2.) If you have event tickets and aren't opposed to parting with them...please let me know (milesnotminutes@gmail.com). I'm hoping to find 2 tickets, but whatever I can get is fine with me. Thanks so much. Would suck to not get to play my Goblin in this years Special.
I'm looking through the event catalog, and there is only one 7-11 adventure...and the special is only level 1-5? I'm a little disappointed, I was hoping for them to perhaps push the level cap up with the new convention mods...but I don't follow this website/forum hardly at all. Is there no plans to increase the level cap from 12? Is anyone else disappointed that everything on the gencon schedule is low to mid level? |
