These forged are clearly outmatched, Brignat's trades strikes with one of the forged, the impact of their weapons pushing each other away the weapons being stopped by the armors. Drexel's flaming blade is being watched warily by those facing him, though he lands a vicious strike with kukri.
Brignat hits the Warforged, not too severely, but the weapon flashes blue, and a wave of force tears through the warforged the forged glows blue and collapses...
Yeah, been a rough couple weeks, still trying to heal from that cold, trying to not get pneumonia, or bronchitis.
Brignat is hit for 4 pts, no crit, since he needed 20 to hit.
The warforged have a difficult time keeping up with the nimble hobgoblins in the dim lighting, Drexel cuts one of the 'forged down, shearing its head from its torso in a pair of swift strikes. Stepping in the way of Brignat though causing his weapon to skip off the shimmering mithral plated armor of the forged.
Feel free to add more detail to your descriptions.
The hobgoblins wait for the charge, then launch the attack as the warforged crash into them. Drexel cuts into the first dropping it as teh flames leap to life. Brignat, not quite used to the falchion, misjudges the distance to the warforged, swinging a second too early. The warforged crash into your line. They're all armed with bastard swords.
The entrance to the tomb was 10 ft wide, filled with traps, as you drop the second one, the others break into a run, weapons drawn. They'll be there in a round.
The warforged blocks Brignat's Falchion, but misjudges the hobgoblin's power, staggering as Drexel lunges forward and brings the flaming scimitar down on the forged's head, splitting its head plate open, as it collapses.
As the warforged advance on Brignat, Brignat draws back his bow and releases an arrow, impacting the 'forged in the chest. As the arrow impacts, Drexel slips out of the shadows, the scimitar flaring to life as it strikes the 'forged in the back dropping it, its back smoldering as its face impacts the stone floor.
I will head down the tunnel to the split and head the opposite direction as Brignat, once I get around the corner I will start calling out for help to draw the Warforged to my position. I have a readied action to attack the first warforged that comes around the corner.
"Ooooh, Brothers help me, I think I broke something, I cant move! Is anyone out there? I need help!"
I will have the scimitar with flame in my hand to attack with.
Brignat, brings up some valid points, I would vote for two charters each but I am going to be disappearing for 10 weeks (or more) Dec 14 for boot camp and getting ready for A-school. The only reason that I havent been checking the board everyday is because the game has slowed down so much. I would like to hop back in after my short break for boot camp though.
"We should take care of the two that are coming toward the crypt first, that way there is less to deal with outside once we go to save our new friends. Let us set up an ambush farther down the hall where the path splits. You can hide down one way and I the other. I will make noise to draw them toward me and you can attack them from behind while I attack them from the front. That way we can cut off their escape rout so they cant go back and warn their fellows."
Short break...riiiight...How about we just run it til then? Then we can close up the game...
You guys want to run 2 characters? Then you'd have a full 4 person party, and it would run pretty fast, not sure if you're up for double characters, I know I can recruit more, bump you to 4th level and let the new people come in at 3?
Totally up to you guys, either run a second once you rescue the other hobgobs, or we recruit others.

Lay of the land hasn't changed too much over time, it's still a grassland some trees have died, others have grown to take their place, but it's still generally the same, the entrance tot he tome is half covered in dirt now, no wonder it had lain dormant in your time.
[spoiler=drexel]You sneak to the edge of the complex after renegotiating the traps, you see a camp of warforged holding the hobgoblins captive. You also see two warforged coming toward the tomb.
You shield your eyes as you get to the entrance of the tomb, the sunlight streaming in from outside is very bright on your eyes after several hours in pure darkness. The other hobgoblins aren't answering your calls.
we still have the magic weapons yes? And the weapon I just picked up? What is the tone of the elf? Is she angry, in awe, upset?
Yes, all the items you picked up...up to picking up the Dhakaani Falchion. Yes she seems a bit miffed. And...you're all feeling perfectly healthy and well rested, as if you rested and recovered for several weeks...
As Drexel touches the weapon, there's a shimmer in the air once more, the remaining skeletons on the ground crumble to dust, their armors corroding in seconds...the coins disappear, all that remains are what you had on you.
sry bout that. Been really busy the last few days with work and stuff
I look into the sarcophagus after the chill passes. I shrug and say, "well we are already doomed for entering this cursed place we may as well enjoy the spoils. cunsulting a mystic sounds like a good idea to me brignat"
Within the sarcophagus you see the remains of a Valenar noblewoman, thousands of coins line the inside of the sarcophagus, but most importantly, she holds a weapon not made by Elven hands, but a Dhakaani made weapon...
Both Haruuc and Brignat seem to stomach the odors well, Brignat almost seems to enjoy the lingering smell of death.
As you stand before the sarcophagus a mist rises from it swirling around you all.
you hear as a whisper, foolish Dhakaani, you've desecrated my tomb, destroyed my guardians, stolen my treasures, now I will be forever with you... then the mist merges with you and disappears
After a quick investigation of the sarcophagus, you find a catch on the underside of the lid, you realize it's been quite a while since the possessing undead has shown itself.
I will cleave Hruskin's head from his body in hopes of keeping him from coming back a second time, then I will take the time to search the entire room we are in for trap doors or secrete openings. (taking 20)
Hruskin's head comes off cleanly, the little goblin's grin one of determination in death. After an hour of searching, you notice that the area below the sarcophagus sound hollow.

You can see that the weapons of all the guard are exceptional scimitars, one is the black metal of adamantine, one glows with an light blue radiance, another was flickering with flames while held; that last is silvery in appearance, possibly mithral traced with Valenar style elven runes.
You look behind the dias, and Hurskin's lifeless corpse is there, a chill passes down your spine, where's the spirit that was inhabiting his corpse? All's quiet in the tomb currently, you could probably check out the weaponry of the skeletal guards now.
Haruuc sees the other Skeletons falling to his companions and roars in fury at his inability to even hit his opponent. He once more swings the Heavy Flail around in a sweeping arc, trying to smash the thing before him to dust.
Attack Skeleton 15 with Heavy Flail: 1d20 + 2
Confirm Critical Hit: 1d20 + 2
Damage: 2d10 + 1
Haruuc seems to be in a daze from the blood loss, as he begins attacking the fallen skeleton, pulverizing it's bones.
2d10+2 damage on a critical, str bonuses are doubled as well, only precision damage is not multiplied.
Drexel brings hismace down on the skeleton's skull driving the weapon downwards, shattering the spinal column of the skeleton, and crushing the helmet. Brignat finishes off the final skeleton spinning it's head about as his gauntlet impacts the jaw, jawbone flying as it collapses into a heap.
One of the Skeletons facing Drexel falls, brought down by the light mace. Brignat hits a glancing blow off the other skeleton, narrowly avoiding Haruuc's wild swing
Don't you hate d20s? I think 2d10 is better, it HAS a bell curve. You guys can rework your characters with APG stuff after this combat if you like.
Drexel's strike lands a solid blow. While the rest of the room maneuvers and attempts to strike at each other, but to no avail. Still no sign of Hruskin
Perception DC 15:
You hear a scrap and thump from where Hruskin was
I'm going to play-test a rule I have been mulling over for a while now. Minimum damage inflicted = amount over AC your TH roll was. Thus Drexel's attack was 6 above the AC so 6 minimum damage, up to the maximum you can inflict. (1d8+2 = max 10) This is ESPECIALLY important in CRITICALS!! I hate getting a critical that rolls 1s...LAME. Let me know your thoughts. Note: this is for PCs and Important NPCs only. Lame skeletons can inflict 1 dmg cuz they're WEAK!.
The hobgoblins turn the tide of battle, as the combination of attacks bring down one of the skeletons, the one facing Brignat goes down but not before the one facing Haruuc reopens an earlier wound. Still no sign of Hruskin.
