First off, Tzizimine, thanks for all the initial hard work on this project. Eberron has always been one of my favorite settings and as I'm just about to start a group in the world using Pathfinder rules this is an absolute godsend.
Secondly, thank you so much for continuing to work on this and maintain it as a living document. After I found it initially my main concern was that it would be a bit out of date. The fact that you continue to work on it years later shows that it's a labor of love that we, the RPG consuming public, greatly benefit from.
I plan on using this extensively and if I just wanted to make sure you knew that your work is appreciated.

I received my order today and sadly found that my copy of Pathfinder Unchained has largish 1" dent in the bottom of the front cover caving it in a bit from the bottom inward toward the pages. How is damage like this dealt with? I normally don't bother, but I figure I'm going to be using this book quite a bit and I'd prefer to save as much future damage as possible. :)

Could you please cancel my Comics subscription? I've decided I'm going to continue picking these up digitally to help save space.
Thanks!

This is becoming a habit.
Name: Karreen
Race: Aasimar
Classes/levels: Magus 6
Adventure: The Curse of the Lady's Light
Location: The "optional" section of the adventure
Catalyst: Babau demon slice and dice
The Gory Details: The same player that had died earlier in the adventure was reintroduced later on as an individual who had managed to wander into the Lady's Light. This character proved to have some excellent damage potential but I'm not quite sure the player realized the "glass cannon" effect. To be fair the player was trying to defend a downed party member but deciding to do so by placing himself in perfect flanking position between two demons with multiple attacks with a sneak attack bonus. It wasn't pretty as the character went from a reasonable amount of health down to Con dead in a single flurry. On the plus side, there will be no more deaths by this character until the next book which we start the next session. Mostly because that new character won't be introduced until that new book.

It's been awhile since a player died during one of the games I've run, but got one this time around.
Name: Larrien
Race: Half-Elf
Classes/levels: Summoner 3/Magus 2
Adventure: The Curse of the Lady's Light
Location: The oval platform on the first dungeon level
Catalyst: Large Water Elemental Crossfire
The Gory Details: The resident cleric decides to investigate the hollow statue by smashing it in the backside with her mace. This obviously brings forth the two elementals. Due to the way the party is positioned one is summoned next to the statue and the other out in the water. Larrien, being a low AC summoner who generally relies on his eidolon is stuck in the middle. I generally choose randomly the targets using die rolls and through the course of the fight end up hitting Larrien with multiple full attacks from the elementals. The final blow was a critical hit (using Paizo cards) which included the "Knockback" result of double damage and 1d6 squares of pushback directly away. So, the image was a giant double handed upward blow that picked Larrien up and knocked him into the somewhat shallow water. Larrien never surfaced (29 points of damage so from upright to full dead). There was a moment of mourning before the loot fest began.

Thanks a ton Kyle. I know how annoying all the little feature requests can be so I appreciate the quick response and "to do" add. It'll make the combination of Combat Manager and "the beta software" very handy.

First off, this program is pretty amazing and I'm happy that you've taken so much time to create it and keep it up to date. One thing I'm trying to do is use Combat Manager along side the beta of up and coming program that I'm also excited about. This program allows me to access external programs from within it by doing a bit of manipulation but essentially it relies on Windows to know what program to open by the file extension.
I've set Windows to open a .cmpt file (created earlier in Combat Manager and saved) with Combat Manager. However, when I attempt to access the file Combat Manager opens to a blank window. The same happens if I simply try to double click the .cmpt file from a Windows Explorer window so I think the behavior is more to do with Combat Manager than my beta software. If I open the .cmpt from within Combat Manager then it works fine. My guess is that Combat Manager doesn't know what side (party/monster) to open the .cmpt file into and therefore doesn't open it at all but that's simply a guess on my part. I also tried renaming a file to .cmet and get the same result when double clicking on it. It opens Combat Manager alright, but nothing in either side.
I'm new to Combat Manager so there could be something very simple that I'm missing. Does anyone have any ideas?

I did do a bit of google searching to see if I could find something that could pass. Unfortunately, Triela seems to be something of a unique little town and couldn't really find anything that would fit it well enough.
I appreciate the suggestions though. I hadn't thought of digging through old Paladium releases.

I have found my Achilles's Heel when it comes to the Inner Sea. I can't make town level maps to save my life. So my question is this, has anyone created or is there a product that contains a town map for the settlement of Triela in Andoran? It's relegated to a single paragraph in the Androan, Spirit of Liberty book and while I enjoy the fact that lets me expand on it as a GM as far as the fine details I find that I can't make a map for the settlement to save my life.
Worst case scenario I'll use description instead of a handout for the town and it'll likely be fine, but players generally like handouts so I like to provide when able.
Anyone with any ideas, suggestions, or can point me in the right direction?

Hello. Due to some recent financial concerns I need to cancel all my current subscriptions. I will still have access to all the PDFs that I've received through my subscriptions up to date correct? I just need to know if I should take some extra time to download and back them all up before my subscriptions expire.
Hopefully I'll be able to pick them back up in the near future.

And thus, is my faith restored. :) Just happened to check my downloads area (not that I haven't been doing that multiple times daily in recent days :) ) and noticed the PDFs for this shipment including the Beastiary.
At least now I can look through it and have happy player-killing (I jest!*) thoughts while I wait for the physical book to arrive.

Hate to sound the downer, but at this point I'm just hoping I get the book sooner or later. :) The fact that I see a pending charge on my card again is a good sign.
At this point, I'm somewhat concerned at the timing between the shipping of the October set of books and the rather large (according to my subscription page) November set. Are these planned to ship reasonably close to each other at this point?

Karui Kage wrote: Did you guys note that whenever you have 6+ players the average party level should be increased by 1? So if your APL was 5 with 7 players, then you would treat it as 6 and play in the 6-7 tier. They actually had several level 4s in the game. The APL with the number of players granting the +1 was 5. This gave them the option between tiers.

Darius Silverbolt wrote: I found the mods I found easy were easy because we ran the wrong tier. The group was level 5 but with 7 players and we opted for the 3-4 tier not 6-7. The D(G)M asked and I chickened out but we had to AWESOME DPS machines and myself and a buddy was playing 2 healing / defensive clerics.....We SOOOO needed the higher tier of 6-7 w/ #30. I tried to push you guys to the 6-7 tier but noooooo. :) No worries though, I can completely understand the hesitation. From a GM standpoint, I think most of the "too easy" issues really did stem largely from the tier system, but as in as was stated above, not a problem with the tier system itself. With that said, with #30 specifically (as I ran that several times) I think the lower tiers could be bumped up a smidge for the convention setting. That of course gets counter-balanced by the fact that if I run it at my local game store and we only have four players without covering the four monster food groups, it could be much more difficult.
So yup, completely subjective to the group playing it. :) You're never going to please everyone. There's always going to be the group that blows through it and another group that gets slaughtered.

I have #29 for one slot, #32 for one slot, with the rest being filled up by #30. I'm grateful that I get to run the first part before running the second for the rest of the con. Comes in handy.
Looking forward to seeing the NDA come out soon as well. I have a lot of stuff to read over before GenCon comes. :)

Personally, I always thought very little of the CD included with the PHB 3.0. While it contained promise, it never really amounted to anything in the long run. If a character creation program cannot be maintained, it quickly becomes worthless.
That aside, I'm glad to see that Paizo sounds like they're more than happy to have 3rd party companies deal with this. Myself, and I admit to some bias here, I'd love to see work done with Lone Wolf Development's Hero Lab product and/or RPGXplorere's Characters & Rules product. Both have proven to be very good character creators.

Hello all,
I'm part of a gaming group that plays pencil and paper RPGs of various sorts on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. We're a reasonably mature group (all 30-40 years of age) and we're looking for a new player.
We've been around as a group for over 5 years now and tend to play various games. Here's a list of games we've played thus far.
D&D 3.0-3.5 (Homebrew settings)
D&D 3.5 (Eberron)
Spycraft
Lords of the Ring (heavily modified)
Mutants & Masterminds (Extended one-shot)
Star Wars Saga Edition
Pathfinder (coming soon, using Beta rules with the Curse of the Crimson Throne AP)
We're an RP centric group (LOTR is very RP heavy as you can imagine) so someone who likes to RP or wants to learn how to RP is most welcome. We generally play twice a month on Saturday at a home in Shaker Heights. We try to schedule a month at a time and while we completely understand that life comes up (I have three kids myself) it's important that you show up for as many sessions as possible. We tend to try to start around the noon hour and wrap thing up by 8-10 pm or so though we're reasonably flexible in that regard. We do try to get a reasonably long session in however, because one of our members drives up from Mansfield, which is a bit over an hour away.
We're looking for someone that would be a good fit with our group for a long time to come. We tend to be democratic about what we play and we have multiple game masters to run various games. I will state though that at present, the group really doesn't have any desire to play in a D&D 4th ed game. The next D&D style game will probably still be either 3.5 with house rules or something based off the upcoming Pathfinder ruleset from Paizo.
If you're at all interested, please drop me an email at cullyn [at] oh [dot] rr [dot] com.

Just like most of the folks my group wasn't really all that keen on 4e once it actually came out and we got to read over the books. So, since that wasn't an option, and I have a LARGE stack of 3.0 and 3.5 books already, the whole Pathfinder thing really appealed to me. Also, as I now have three small children of my own but still like to DM, the Adventure Paths also are very attractive.
So.... now... here I have... a superscriber without seeing one of the Pathfinder books up front. Basically I was just going on the strength of what I heard regarding past Adventure Path books. And now, I get the massive August shipment (which hurt to a small degree, but I know it's a one time thing) sent out and I see some of the quality in the PDFs I'm able to download as a subscriber.
I am impressed. I am hooked. I am enthralled. :)
