Crixus was born the son of a soldier on campaign and quickly learned the tools of the trade. His small size meant that he could scout out a position and remain undetected.
As he grew older, his commanders quickly realized the he was smarter then the most of the soldiers under his command who had to be given orders in order for them to do anything other then stab the guy in front of them.
Given instructions to the nearest pathfinder lodge Crixus was given instructions on who to meet and what his role would be in an adventuring party.
Crixus knows he isnt the smartest person or the person you want talking to the king of a country but he is fine with that. His role is to kill the guy in front of him and he is the best at that.
