The child known as Crispin was born with a mark of the Goddess of his people on his shoulder the problem was one of the leaves of the clovers was falling off, which was the sign of a Jinxed child. One of the halflings that could send bad luck to the way of his would be enemies. This is marked as a blessing and a curse to the village. Crispin was trained to be an agent of his people being shown practical skills to he could serve the humans the way they expected. He was also trained on how to channel his bad luck and in Martial practices in only the way a halfling can be shown, on the sly.

Crispin left his village when he turned of age he head out to find a home to serve. Crispin a firm believer in Ascalia prayed to find a family that would be fair and not abusive. He had to many stories from others of his kind of the abuse and humiliation that human families bestowed as reward and punishment. All he knew unless he found a home to practice his art he would be homeless and he would not bring his family honor.

Crispin counted on Ascalia to guide him and she did he found a family that he could learn and grow and even worked out a deal to attend the festival the ATA threw for a chance to be free. Everything with the family was well until the father died and a new head of household came in Though he honored the contract his method of dealing with the help was quite violent, this made Crispin learn more sneaky ways of dealing with his household chores as to not attract the attention of the one in charge.
