Background:
Cracked loved his life, but sometimes he felt like the unluckiest Tiefling in the world- and he'd actually met 3 others besides himself, believe it or not. All of them were the 'normal' fiendish Tieflings, while Cracked had the distinct honor and great fortune to descend from Qlippoth. Lucky him. And still, he'd made a pretty good go of his life so far, all things considered.

The worst part of his heritage, Cracked had long since concluded, was those Qlippoth 'feelings' that would bubble to the surface every so often. Sure, the way people looked at him still bothered him occasionally, but he'd largely outgrown those feelings. He had honestly and truly embraced Goodness, and knowing that was enough for him, even if it wasn't enough for the strangers who crossed to the other side of the street when he passed through, or those who instinctively reached for their coin-purse in his presence. Rising above those things, in hindsight, did him nothing but good. And it wasn't as if Tieflings were the only folk that people judged. It was unfair, but Cracked walked a fine line between optimism and pragmatist. No, the worst part of it was that almost spontaneous Hatred.

It probably would have been easier to handle if it had been 'people' that he found himself hating, but Cracked wasn't so nearly so lucky. No, his hatred targeted the Abyss, of all things. Cracked knew dozens of folks who hated the Abyss, that wasn't the issue. He'd spent some time adventuring earlier in his life, as many of his kind did, and had fallen in with a group none would have described as "risk-averse". Unlike most folks in the world, Cracked had actually fought and killed Demons. He knew they were evil, and anathema to everything he stood for, and he could probably even say he hated them! But that hatred didn't fold a candle to the intensity burning in his blood when the Qlippoth stirred. The worst part wasn't even the feeling though: it was knowing the feelings weren't HIS.

Still, Cracked remained ever the pragmatist. His life was different that most, but he was wise enough to recognize that his was a great deal better than most folks. While his colleagues had aged out of the business, Cracked had shifted his focus, becoming a Bounty Hunter, instead. The life wasn't much safer, but he didn't have much in the way of family, and truthfully he enjoyed the work. Chasing down escaped criminals, fugitives, and the occasional outlaw made him feel good and kept him on his toes. The fact that it paid decently wasn't to be overlooked either-- he wasn't exactly qualified to be an accountant. What he didn't spend on sundries and supplies for himself, he typically left among houses of good repute. He'd grown up in a monastery, abandoned and effectively orphaned by parents who didn't like his scales, and had never forgotten the charity he'd received in his youth, even if rarely spoke of it. Some things were hard for even a pragmatist to face.

Today, that was what brought him to Sandpoint. After collecting a bounty far exceeding his needs, Cracked had swung into town intent on dinner and planning on lightening his purse at the House of Blue Stones. Fate, it seemed, had other ideas for him.

Personality:
Cracked isn't a bookish fellow, but he's been around long enough to have a pretty decent understanding of the way the world works. He chooses to ignore things he can't change, and works hard to affect the things he can. Optimistic though it all but never naive, Cracked has retained his ability to find and enjoy humor. He knows the goodwill of others, combined with a healthy bit of luck and circumstance is the reason he's done so well in his life, and he chooses to pay it forward when he can.
