About Count Vascor

I have played this AP before and DMed it, my favorite character in it was Nox for some reason I always played her as more of a doomed character, and I wanted to make a character that added more to her background because I felt it was very half hearted on a character that traded in her soul for no reason.

Feats and traits:

Feats:

Traits-
Fates favored +1 to luck bonuses
Child of Kintargo- +1 trait bonus on Knowledge (nobility) checks, and Knowledge (nobility) is always a class skill for you. The Noble Scion feat (see the sidebar on page 11) does not have a Charisma prerequisite for you. In addition, you start play with a noble’s outfit, a signet ring, and a single additional nonmagical item worth no more than 200 gp.
Lost Nobility: Your family was prominent before the rise of Thrune, but that legacy is now forgotten by all but you. You hold every Chelish government official (including Hellknights) personally responsible for your lost glory. You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack and damage rolls against these officials.
Staying up on Current Events- (Reason to protest) You gain a +2 bonus on all Diplomacy and Perform checks made during the protest itself.

Drawback
Family Ties- Effect(s) When a family member makes a request of you, you must fulfill that request or take a –2 penalty on all Wisdom– and Charisma-based ability checks and skill checks until you either do what was requested or succeed at a DC 20 Will saving throw, which you can attempt once per day at the start of each day. You can’t take this drawback if you have no family. If you ever lose your family or lose contact with your family, exchange this drawback for the Doubt drawback.

Appearance:
Castus Prefers to keep his clothing and hair immaculate. Dressing in White and Red to represent his god. secretly he knows that Asmodeouses color is red and knows sometimes it seems as though he is a follower. Castus tries to make others believe he is better off than he is. And always strives to make the best first impression.

Background Info (requested):

Count Vascor is the last heir of the once proud noble family Vascor (Child of Kintargo trait)Only because his sister Noxia (now NOX) gave up her name. His parents were brought up on charges and executed supporting the new Glorious Reclamation as spies (by the order of the Rack). Castus was too young to be tried, but his sister was not. During the interrogation Noxia offered herself to the Thrune family swearing allegiance, and as a show of support, turned in everyone she knew was associated with the family. This threw the remainder of the family to the four winds because the Vascor family always supported Iomedae and many believed in the War (drawback family Ties). (it was rumored falsely that Iomedae was a distant cousin before ascending to Godhood.) The representative to the Thrune family was pleased ,and took "mercy" on her little brother (he also believed to use this as a warning to other noble families) by allowing him to keep the smallest house his family owned , and leaving his title as Count as a mockery of how far his family fell. Castus grew up with the only person left he could turn to. A Kind Halfling nursemaid that was a slave to the house by the name of Choloe. She brought him up as best she could as if it was her son even supporting him in his greatest times of need. Castus when old enough, by using his family name was able to enter a prestigious school in chelaxia working hard and racking up debt (cosmopolitan). When he graduated as a barrister he has been using the funds to pay back the school, freeing his nursemaid, and searching for his lost family. All that is currently left is his name and he will be damned to eternity in the hells than see it besmirched again. His curiosity is what brought his to the protest (reason to protest). To keep informed of the goings on in Kintargo is to stay one step ahead of his enemy's (cunning). Castus harbors a deep and fiery hatred for the Thrunes and would try anything to make them hurt as he has been. (lost nobility)

Iomedae Edicts:

Castus follows the edicts to the best of his ability. Because it would be better to try and fail than look bad among his peers.

I will learn the weight of my sword. Without my heart to guide it, it is worthless-my strength is not is my sword, but in my heart. If I lose my sword, I have lost a tool. If I betray my heart, I have died.
-I will have faith in the Inheritor. I will channel her strength through my body. I will shine in her legion, and I will not tarnish her glory through base actions. (Castus favorite name of his god is the Inheritor because it gives him hope)
-I am the first into battle, and the last to leave it. (if anyone is watching him.)
-I will not be taken prisoner by my free will.
-I will not surrender those under my command.
-I will never abandon a companion, though I will honor sacrifice freely given.
-I will guard the honor of my fellows, both thought and deed, and I will have faith in them.
-When in doubt, I may force my enemies to surrender, but I am responsible for their lives.
-I will never refuse a challenge from an equal. (and not challenge anyone I feel could best me.)
-I will give honor to worthy enemies, and contempt to the rest.
-I will suffer death before dishonor.
-I will be temperate in my actions and moderate in my behavior.
-I will strive to emulate Iomedae's perfection.

5pt background for me.:

1) I'd like 5+ points that capture the concept and story of the character. More are welcome, but no less than five.
1- Castus feels guilt that his sister sacrificed herself to serve Thrune and wishes he would have stepped forward. (see also secrets)
2- Castus is much more worried to look bad than the moral implications of what he does. (Deep down he knows it is right and he is doing the correct thing but he will continue to questions his own motives.)
3- Castus will help anyone in his family using his position, skill with words, or even as a attorney to try to get them off. (see Drawback)
4- Castus has a obsession with art. He mostly prefer art that depict the battle between good and evil rather than interpretive art.
5- Castus has been trained as a passable warrior, but his combat depends too much on his natural strength rather than his knowledge of tactics. where he does know some things he is much better as a diplomat.

2) Two goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game.
1- He wants to reinstate the Vascor name in Kintargo and then later Chelaxia he knows he has to start small because his family was scattered to the winds.
2- He will try to do his best to save his sister he does not know if it is possible but he is willing to try anything.

3) Two secrets, one the PC keeps to himself, and one kept from the PC. I'll come up with a third that both the
1-(kept from him) Noxia wanted to join Thrune she despised her family and her place in it.
2- He secretly craves the attention his station gives him and tries to be the center of attention all while appearing to be humble and pious.

4) 3-5 people that are tied to your PC by blood, love, rivalry, honor, etc. I'd like at least one enemy in a set of three or four, with no more than two for a set of five.
1- Noxia (NOX) the right hand of Thrune is Castus's sister. she is his closest relative.
2- Mardis- another worshiper of Iomedae who is a scout and spy for the glories reclamation.
3- Choloe- his nursemaid, maid, cook and confidant in his home he keeps her employed and gives her shelter. she repays him with loyalty.

5) Three key memories that define your character as the person they are at the time of submission.
1- Castus remembers his family being summoned before court for their support of the Glorious Reclamation. his parents executed as traitors and his family name disbanded. When that happened his sister offered herself up to serve the crown by disavowing her family name. any relatives were scattered and Castus being the only heir left was given the smallest holding they owned a small house as a warning to others.

Special abilities:

Channel Energy 5xday (d6)
Touch of Glory 6xday

Cardinal-
Armor Proficiency
A cardinal is proficient in light armor, but not shields.
This ability replaces the cleric’s armor proficiencies.
Political Skill
A cardinal adds Bluff, Intimidate, Knowledge (geography), and Knowledge (local) to her list of class skills. She gains a number of skill ranks equal to 6 + her Intelligence modifier at each level, instead of the normal 2 + her Intelligence modifier. However, she gains only one domain, and her base attack bonus from cleric levels is equal to half her class level (which is the same as for a sorcerer or wizard).
This ability replaces the cleric’s spontaneous casting ability. It alters the cleric’s domains, as well as her class skills, skill ranks per level, and base attack bonus.

Future build and plans:

I am planning on starting Castus as a LN character that has already been corrupted by polotics. He will slowly change to a NG character as the campaign moves forward. I have built him as a diplomat. ill be taking a few channel feats to round out the character.
