Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cort winced as he touched the arrow wound gingerly. Glancing down, he saw that the half-orc was still bleeding out. "Damn!" he cursed, carefully lowering himself to get a good look at the half orc. He then treated the wounds, cursing the entire time.

Take ten on First Aid.

He then looked over as Cormut suddenly exhausted himself. "Cormut, help me find a safe place," he ordered, carefully extracting the arrows from himself and his badger. He then picked up the halforc in a fireman's carry, grunting at his extreme weight.

Me and Cormut will try to find an ABANDONED cave or something to hide out in. Survival check d20 + 11 = 28. If all else fails, I'll try to convince Cormot to dig us a hole. Then, I'll use long-term care on the half-orc. Might be a little tough, since I don't have bandages...

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cort grinned as his blow damn near took the goblin's head off. "Ha! How d'ye like-" he was saying as he turned towards the bugbear, and saw the halforc fall to the ground, slipping free of the blade in his chest. "Bastard!" Cort shouted at the bugbear. "I jest patched 'im up!" The druid then staggered on his wounded leg and advanced, swinging mightly.

Cormot is savaging away; he's pissed about the arrow business.

Cort: d20 + 3 = 17. d6 + 3 = 7.
Cormot: Five foot shuffle and coup de grace.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

"Hurry 'n die!" Cort shouted, swinging again.

Meanwhile, Cormot's mind is filled with rage, and he savages the archer.

Cort: d20 + 3 = 16. Damage d6 + 3 = 9. 'Bout time.
Cormot: RAGE! Claw 1 d20 + 6 = 13. Miss, prolly. Claw 2 d20 + 6 = 14. Damage d2 + 1 = 3. Bite d20 + 1 = 13. C'mon!

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cormut's attack of opportunity misses.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cort winced as he got knicked again. Deciding to try to fight on the ground, Cort again tried a double handed swing at the pesky goblin.

Cormot hissed at the archer and followed, clawing and biting with all his might.

Cort: d20 + 3 - any modifiers you might give him= 19. Damage d6 + 3 = 4.
Cormot: Claw 1 d20 + 4 = 16 damage 1 Claw 2 d20 + 4 = Crit miss. Bite - 1 = 13 damage d3 - 1 = 2.

The dwarf glanced over where the halforc was blasting with strange magic. Ah, a sorcerer, I guess he thought.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cort gritted his teeth as the arrow punched into his leg. Glaring fiercely at the goblin who missed him, he shouted at Cormot, "Git that gob with the stick!" Cormot growled in response, and shuffled forward to savage the archer while Cormot swung with both hands at the other goblin.

Attack on gobboe for Cort is d20 + 3= Critical miss! NOOOOOOOOO! Attack on archer for Cormot (bite) is d20 - 1 = 16. Damage d3-1=1 point.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cort's eyes widened. "Idiot! Ye want to go hunting for gobs when ye... orc! Wait, ye darn blasted..." Cort growled, then shouted at his friend, who was now able to fully comprehend him with his spell, "Cormut! Keep up with him, and make sure he doesn't get his sorry hide killed!" With that, the badger and the dwarf charged after the strange prisoner, the badger easily matching pace with the dwarf falling behind.

Init d20 + 1 = 5.

Cort you can go ahead you have a surprise round since you here the bear coming and then we will go to initiative if we need to.

The problem is, casting IS my surprise round action. Although, if the bear doesn't attack right away...

Spoiler:
Cort stands in front of the bear, with arms out in supplication. "Let us go, great bear. We mean you no harm!"

The bear growled in anger. "We Bears are a proud race! You will pay for your intrusion."

Cort spake back with, "On my journeys, I met one of your kind. His name was Katow-jo. We became friends."

The bear fell forward on his front paws. "Katow-jo? He is my cousin. How is he doing?"

"Oh, he is doing fine. He has a bad gas problem, though."

"I keep telling him to not eat those berries. In any case, you may go in peace."

"I shall tell tales of your compassion!" Cort exclaimed.

The bear shook his furry head. "Fare thee well, Cort Stonetree. You shall always be a friend of bears." And with that, Cort and the inpronouncable half-orc skipped merrily on their way, Cormut struggling to catch up.

Now that's over with...

Cort swallowed nervously, knowing that a riled bear was nothing to be trifled with. "Good friend!" he said loudly, stretching his arms out to appear bigger than he really was. "We did not mean to encroach upon your home! Let us go on our way!"

It's either Handle Animal or Wild Empathy. Not quite sure. Either way, my d20 roll is... 14. So, either a 17 Handle Animal or a 14 Wild Empathy. While speaking Bear.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

11+1=12 for initiative. Yippee.

Cort's stance softened as he noticed the angry bear come in the cave. "Ach, great. Should've seen this one comin'," Cort grumbled, ignoring the half-orc.

If I get a chance to go, I'll cast Speak With Animals on myself to reason with the bear.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

"Yer in the Dragon's Spines," Cort says, as though that explained everything. He stilled, hearing footsteps, and slowly picked up his quarterstaff in one hand, and set down the sledge. He said nothing to the half-orc, not knowing if he was in on an ambush or not.

He glanced at Cormot, who was busying himself with a pile of rocks near the other wall. "Durn over curious badger..." he growled irritably.

Cort got it square on the dot, and Cormot missed by three.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cort continued to look at the half-orc. "Ach, I don't think yer in the position t' be orderin' me 'round, lad." He crouched in front of him, watching his erratic breathing, then muttered something under his breath. He then reached out and poked the young half-orc with a finger, which, beyond all reason, infused a small bit of healing power into the half-orc.

Used my Cure Minor Wounds to get him over 0 HP.

He then took off his backpack, and unstrapped the sledge off of the outside of it. He took a glance at the chain, to see if he could either break the chain, or the stone that it was attached to.

I have NO idea what roll to make for that.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cort snorted as he watched the wretch jerk around and awaken. "Good t' see that yer up 'n about," he grumbled in the common tongue in a slightly sarcastic tone. The druid can see that the half-orc could definitely use a bit more healing before he would be functional, but... Orcs aren't a group of monsters to be trifled with. Best to keep him where he is until he can get a sense of his intentions.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cort was silent as he inspected the wound, then reached into his belt pouch to pull out a handfull of berries. Concentrating his druidic powers, he cultivated life giving force into them, making the dried berries plump, as though freshly picked. He then carefully mashed the berries into a fine paste, and put the healing berries into the half-orc's mouth, washing them down his throat with some water from his waterskin.

I don't have my book on me, but I think the roll's 2d4+caster level. Go ahead and roll for me.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Cort grimaced as he saw what his companion lead him to. "Great. One of those half bred'd things..." the druid grumbled, before looking up at the manacles that held the unconcious half-orc's arms over his head. "Still, no way fer one to die. Lucky that he ha'n't been 'ere durin' the winter."

Slowly, Cort crept up to the soul, stave at the ready, looking for mischief. When he saw that no raiders were going to pop out of the stones, he looked back at Cormut. "Oi, ya li'l rascal. Would it be too much t' ask ye to sniff about a bit?" he muttered to the badger. He then set the stave against the stone wall, and took the half-orc's limp head in his hands, inspecting the wound.

Heal check take ten + 9 = 19.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

DOOOOOOOOONE!

Male Dwarf Druid 1

Got a little bit of Cort worked out. Good ol' grumpy dwarf...
