HeftyUpTop: I'm not asking anyone to prove anything.
When I've gone to Pathfinder Society games casual sexism/homophobic comments are ubiquitous to the experience. I am not talking about on the boards, that experience has been mostly fantastic. :)
For the podcasts - many of the ones I listen to are sensitive to the issue and I truly appreciate it; however, I have had a surprising number of people approach me and friends across the country [when I've brought up what I'm trying to create here] who have said they have heard from LGBTQ gamers that they wish there were more LGBTQ RP podcasts. So - that is a thing I'm looking to do. It sounds fun, and like something others would be into, but don't have the interest in creating.
As for wanting LGBTQ folks, for an LGBTQ podcast, I'm looking for more than my cis-gendered, white, male voice (or my husband's). So I'm asking for different voices. I have tons of cis-gendered male LGBTQ people who are interested - and that is fantastic - I love it. However, I play in 2 different in-person games, both w/ women in them, I have heard women/female identified individuals, lamenting that they don't have a voice - so I want to see if that is something I can encourage in this podcast of LGBTQ people. My request isn't about excluding people - it is an open call for female identified people to feel included and wanted in gaming, in podcasting, and in role playing.
I HOPE I am not going about this in the wrong way. I'm hopeful that it will work, but if I can't get any responses that fit the demographic, I will go with other options. I just don't want to not TRY to be inclusive and label a podcast I'm creating as LGBTQ and not have opportunities for people other than the "G" to have representation.
