Ah. I thought I needed a hand free, not *hands* (plural) free.

This is my first time playing the class and it has more moving parts than I'm used to. So I can still use my horns, I just need to keep the hand free or put one of those choices in it (maybe a weapon with parry so I can block with it, in lieu of a shield).

It won't break anything as long as you avoid anything that might boost it beyond 1d6 damage somehow; finesse weapons have damage caps and the math could get messier if you're grabbing something that assumes agile. Nagaji have a 1d6 finesse bite attack, so the same basic "slot".

What about handwraps using Striking runes? or did you mean base damage die of 1d6 is capped?

I made a Thaumaturge for a new Blood Lords game. I made a Dex-based build and took Littlehorn Minotaur as my ancestry. My plan was to use my natural weapons (horns) in combat and take advantage of my remaining free hand to use a shield.

Unfortunately, I misread the traits on the horns. I thought it had the Finesse tag, but it's actually the Agile tag. It's really making it hard to land a blow with my +0 strength. The GM offered to let me switch the tag to Agile.

Does anyone see any balance issues in doing this? I don't want to take a "cheat" that is unfair to the other players, but this stupid mistake is really hurting this character.

How's the archetype for Animist?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

A new game of RotRL is starting on Dec 26, and I'll be playing in it. The game has been converted to PF2 Remaster, so while I saw some threads about PC advice under PF1, does anyone have new/updated suggestions for PF2?

Currently the group will consist of an inventor trip build, and (maybe) a rogue, so I've got a fair amount of leeway in choices. We're using Free Archetype.

I have a few personal preferences:

I prefer simple-to-play PCs (especially in a 1-20 AP).
I prefer spontaneous over prepared casters.
I prefer classes that aren't solely ranged DPS - not counting spellcasters since they have spells that can do other things.
I would like to avoid bard, fighter, monk, and divine sorcerer, as I'm playing these in other PF2 games and would like something different.

Thoughts appreciated.

Is this part of the Season 4 Crystal Key arc, or is it just coincidental that this takes place in Ustalav?

I am kicking around buying the Pathfinder system - the books are gorgeous, I love the art, and I like what I'm hearing about it. I wanted to buy the book for use in an Eberrron setting game I may begin.

Questions:

1) I understand there was an effort to eliminate "dead levels" (where PCs don't gain anything interesting when making a level) and front-loaded classes that encourage too much multiclass "double dipping." I like the former for Eberron since I want the PCs to be the stars, and the latter I like from a game balance perspective. Can folks shed some light on this? Is it true?

2) I have a ton of 3.5 adventures (including piles of adventures from another excellent Paizo product, Dungeon Magazine). Money and time are both tight so I can't go and buy all the PF system books and I don't have the time for full conversions. How backwards-compatible is PF with 3.5?

3) Are there any products in the PF line people would recommend specifically for an Eberron-style game?

Thanks,

Christian
