Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis looks over to Violant to see what she says on the matter. He indicates his Earthbreaker with a raised eyebrow, trying to ask her if he should use it or not.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Any update on this or is it done like a Turkey Dinner?

" Don't worry. we are not here to kill you unless you do not reply to our questions.

Charsis hefts his Earthbreaker menacingly. "Feel free to not answer our questions. I haven't killed anything in a while and that tends to make me tense."

He winks at Zaranae. "Of course I can think of other ways to relieve tension as well, so if you're lucky and do answer our questions I can think of somone else who might get lucky tonight as well."

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis feels Zaranae standing close to him and half turns, grinning his lopsided grin at her and pointing to the bed and table. He then points to himself and the door, before once more heftinghis Earthbreaker and bringing it down on the door handle and trying to wrench open the door.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis strides forward intot he room, taking a quick look around before heading straight to the other door. Not waiting for the others, he once again hefts his Earthbreaker with a smile and brings it down onto the handle with an almighty crash.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Smiling to himself at his handywork, Charsis wrenches his Earthbreaker from the step and uses it to prod open the clearly busted door, ready, after the baboon downstaris, for anything that may leap at them from this new room.
He peers inside, looking for the next door awaiting his ministrations.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis claps Zaranae on the shoulder as he passes and gives her a wink. Good reactions, I wasa bit rattled by that door. It's all good now though, so let's see what we can find upstairs shall we."
He makes his way up the stairs to stop at the door. He tries the handle just to make sure it's not unlocked but shrugs and decides to make sure it stays unlocked anyway. He hefts his Earthbreaker and brings it down on the door handle with an almighty thud that reverberates down the stair towards the others and rattle Clifford on the sstep next to him.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Once he sees the door start to close and Zaranae's failed attempt with the chain, Charsis puts his shoulder into the door and attempts to barge his way inside.
Not sure what knid of Combat maneuver of Strength Check you'd wnat for that Zoom, so I'' just post a d20 roll and you can grab the bonuses off Charsis' Profile.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Sorry for my absence guys. I've been having some personal problems and felt it best to take a break from the Boards for a week. I'm busy catching back up with my PbPs again.

Charsis stands off to the side, his hands wrapped tightly around his Earthbreaker and standing protectively close to Zaranae. He tenses as the man identifies Violant, but smiles when she is quick enough to roll with the situation, something he knows he'd never be able to do. He gently places a hand on Zaranae's shoulder and gives her the the thumbs up, motioning for her to take the left once inside and he'll take the right.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

"We had a recent run of bad luck and lost a lot of staff," he says as he thinks.
"That is a tricky one. Maybe I should go with polite chat. I throw too many people out in one week and it'll start to look bad."
He waves Clifford to follow him as he makes his way back to the table and places his hand firmly on the cheating man's shoulder. "Excuse me sir, but the house would like to have a little word wwith you. We wish to congratulate you on your run of good luck and offer you some of our V.I.P. priveleges."
He steps to the side, not taking his hand off the man's shoulder but allowing him enough room to stand and be led away.

Dead campaign ? I hope not !

Ack, sorry. I diddn't realize you were waiting on me. :(

Charsis leads the little man a short distance away, hand on his shoulder and looks down at him. "So what's all this about cheating then. I looked and I can't see a thing." "Although since I have no idea what I'm looking for that's not a big surprise," he thinks to himself.
"Who's cheating and how badly? 'I need to have a polite chat to them' kind of cheating, or 'I need to pick them up by their collar and throw them through the door' kind of cheating?"

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis finally spies the little man Violant was talking about standing off to the side watching the game. He makes a note of his position and proceeds downstairs again to confront the man.
Striding up behind him so as not to raise an alarm, he places a hand on the little man's shoulder and says, "excuse me sir, but if you'd like to step this way, there is something that we need to discuss in private." He siganls to Violant to come over and help him if the man tries to argue.
IC is down again, so I rolled the old fashioned way. Seems my dice aren't too fond of me either... Intimidate Check. 1d20+3 (13+3)= 16

Rob I just sent you an e-mail about Council of Thieves.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Eyeing the blot suspiciously once more, Charsis nods to Violant and begins making his way up onto the catwalk over table seven. Looking down, he nods to himself and grins as he spies her sidling her way around the table to see if she can pick up anything.
He scans the table himself, but can't see anything out of the ordinary. "Of course it would probably help to have a knowledge of the game being played in the first place to attempt this kind of thing," he thinks to himself.
Perception Check. (1d20=5)

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis turns suddenly at Samaritha's saying his name. He quickly glances over toth e last place he saw Zaranae, noting her absence and relaxing a little before returning her smile.
"Oh think nothing of it little one. I want to see the Goblin's interests flourish to help line my pockets and with a beauty such as yourself working here that's sure to happen."
He once a gain glances around to make sure Zee isn't around, before patting Samaritha getly on the shoulder. He smiles again an turns back to the door, jsut in time to heara gods awful screeching sound. He looks up and sees the weathervane swinging wildly and pointing towards the blot. A perplexed look comes over his face and he lets out a low growl. "What kind of dark sorcery is this? I have no problem with magic but that is simply... wrong. What on Goalrion could be causing it?"

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis barely realizes that the Halfling Bard is tugging on his pants. He stops smiling at the red head long enough to point out Violant for her, before returning his attention back to the Half-Elf.
"I'm sure we can find a suitable postition for you here Miss Beldusk, can I call you Samaritha? Such a flowing name, befitting a daughter of the mighty wind."
He leads her into the Goblin and over to Saul, explaining her situation to him and telling him what a valuable asset she will be to the Goblin.
While he is talking to Saul, he spots Zaranae looking his way with a smirk on her face and the smile disappears from his own. He quickly glances between Saul and Samaritha, before excusing himself and returning to the door, glancing sheepishly at Zaranae on his way.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis notices the attractive Half-Elf and he nods and smiles at her when she smiles at him. Seeing her looking around as if lost, he walks over and introduces himself, asking if he can help her.
Diplomacy Check. (1d20+3=13)

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charis looks on at the gulls in wonder. "Now that is something that you won't see in the Cinderlands! You city folk sure know how to put on a show."
He chuckles to himself and turns, following Violant back inside away from the spectacle.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

His ears ringing from the din outside, Charsis sticks his head out the door to see what in the hells is going on with those damnable birds. As far as he's concerned, birds are only good for one thing and that's being shoved down his throat after being roasted in their own juices.
He notices both Zaranae and Violant have also taken note of the disturbance and raises an eyebrow in query once he catches Zee's attention.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Intimidate Check. (1d20+3=10) *sigh* There go Charsis' dreams of living the high life...

Charsis nods to Saul and heads back down to the floor. He wanders the crowd, making sure that everyone is behaving themselves, while trying to keep an eye on Clegg Zincher and what he's doing. Unfortunately, heis view keeps getting interrupted by the busy floor and the Goblin's Patrons.
Perception Check. (1d20=11)

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis grins at the man and at the timely manner that the event managed to clear itself up, greatly impressed by the solid nature of his new associates.
He lets go of the man's outstretched fist, pushing him back and saying, "begone with you then. Take your friends with you and don't come back."
He returns Zaranae's wink with one of his own and gives her a smile in return that is full of promise of how he will return her assistance later on that night.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Initiative. (1d20+8=25)
Charsis grins and shakes his head as he sees the leader ball his fist for a punch. He slowly raises his hand to intercept the punch and attempts to grab the man's fist as it comes at him, stopping it in mid swing and holding it in the air. He slowly tightens his hold on the man's fist, crushing it in his viselike grip. He smiles at the rest of the toughs as if daring any of them to interfere.
Attack Roll. (1d20+4=24) YES!!! Finally Invisible Castle throws me a bone! =D
Still trying to end this without a fight, but if any of the others attack then 'It's On Like Donkey Kong!'

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis looks over at the man and his associates with a blank expression. He flexes his muscles and puffs out his chest dramatically before addressing the lead drunk.
"I can assure you right now that I or the house have no intention of paying you one single coin. What happened the other night was unfortunate, but as this is a gambling hall, you took a gamble by even coming."
He calmly swings his gaze to look at all of the drunks in turn, returning his gaze to the leader. "I think it's now time that you and your friends were on your way. In a quiet like manner if you will. I know Saul wouldn't like it if I were to break anything, but personally it wouldn't pain me in the slightest if it were any of you that got broken." He cracks his knuckles for emphasis.

Intimidate Check. (1d20+3=22) Not sure if I can roll another Intimidate Check? I figure that the first roll was a general roll for the establishment, so this one relates specifically to the drunk(s). Not worried if you don't let me use it, just thought I'd give the roll just in case.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Intimidate Check. (1d20+3=5) *sigh*
Bluff Check. (1d20+3=15)
Diplomacy Check. (1d20+3=18)
Perception Check. (1d20=4) *double sigh*

Charsis makes sure that the door is manned, usher ing people into the Goblin with a lopsided grin. He relinquished the door to the other Bouncers once they are fully healed and make shis way around the tables, checking the security and chatting with patrons.
He periodically takes a moment to watch Zaranae's smooth movements and admire her battle hardened body, a fact which leaves him a little remiss in actually paying attention to a lot of what's going on around him.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis stands aside as people start to stream inot the Goblin. He makes sure that Violant and the other two Bouncers are tending to them before walking over to the others. "OK. I've seen some strange things out in the Cinderlands, but that takes the cake."
He turns to Tvaliss. "What in the Hells was that Smart Man?"

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis springs forward to bring the men more fully into the Goblin and leaves them in the care of Violant. He grabs the door as it swings shut and throws it back open to see who had attacked the two men and give them a taste of his particular form of 'Justice'.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis and Zaranae step forward and after a nod from Zaranae, Charsis says, "we also had some success, although the freak flood dampened that success somewhat. We met with some young toughs who showed an interest in the job and agreed to meet us here."
They step to the side to allow someone else to report.

See who posts a followup to your post and we'll go from there.

Charsis grabs Zaranae and hoists her into his arms and out of the water, moving to the bar and placing her uon it, he climbs up after her, wringing himself out.
"Well at least we got some help. What in the hells was that?"

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1
Zaranae Rivendale wrote:
Halfway through her statement she takes a long langushing stretch.

Charsis watches the curves of her body as she stretches and ever so slowly pulls his eyes away. He turns to th others and says,"so whatta ya reckon boys. Are ya in or out?"

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis gives the man a nod in thanks and slides in next to Zaranae. He introduces them both and gives them an outline of what they need, asking them if they'd be interested in working for the Goblin.

Mark, Zaranae's player is away for a week, so Charsis stepped up to make the offer to keep it moving.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis follows Zaranae this time, content to let her do the talking. We want the best results after all and it seems prudent to give the men what they want... "within limits", he thinks to himself, content in the fact that the first one to touch her will get an extremely large fist connected squarely with their nose.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Once the tremor subsides Charsis releaes his grip and grins back at Zaranae. His gaze becomes hard once more as he crosses his arms and turns back to the barmen.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis reaches out to brace himself and Zaranae against the bar as the tremor hits, wrapping his arms around her for safety.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1
Zoomackulas Eichendar wrote:
You with that big fellow behind you? If you are you could do better right here you know? He grins as he says this with nods from the older man.

Charsis visibly gets bigger at the statement, raising himself to his full height and puffing out his chest. He opens his mouth to say something, but a restraining hand on his chest from Zaranae is enough to halt the words... for the moment.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

"I live to serve pretty lady. Where you lead I follow. Do you want me to do the talking now that I know the plan, or do you want to?"
He starts shouldering his way through the crowd, clearing a way for Zaranae.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis looks around at the crowds. "You know I have no clue. I'm new at this kind of thing. Growing up living off the land tends to narrow on'e scope on such things." He shrugs.
"I'm good at rolling with a plan though, so fire away and I'll get the job done."

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

"I am thinking we probably shouldn't be splitting up, especially since I don't really know my way around town. Besides, the two of us together should be able to convince almost anyone to join up."
"I must admit though, having no experience with this kind of thing I don't know where to start, other than searching other taverns and the like."

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Perception Check for Chadwilt. (1d20=13)

Smiling at the proposition of money, after coming to Riddleport with not much but the clothes (and weapons) on his back, he turns to Zaranae and whispers "well I must say I am still feeling worn out after last night, but ready to keep working with you closely".
Louder he says, "so, seeing as I am new in town, where do you think we should start looking for men or women to do the bouncing?"

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis' grin widens as he walks over to Saul and whispers in his ear as well.
Saul:

Spoiler:

"Ah, Saul if it's alright with you then Zaranae won't need to bunk in with Vee. She has a pressing engagement to attend to in my room."

He gives Saul a wink and a clap on the shoulder.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1
Zoomackulas Eichendar wrote:
"I'll put you two ladies together if that is ok?"

As they start to move out, Charsis slips in beside Zaranae and places a hand on her arm, whispering in her ear.

Spoiler:
"If you don't feel like bunking in with her," he motions with his head at Violant, "there's some extra room in with me if you're interested." He once again ends with one of his lopsided grins.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis seems to think that there was an insult offered to Saul somewhere in Chadwilt's drunken ramblings and steps up behind him menacingly. He puts a hand on his shoulder and says, "Mr Vancaskerin has been more than kind to us in his offer. If you don't want to hear more then it might be time for you to be on your way."

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Sorry all for my absence. I got snowed under with work, then got sick and have just started reposting this week and catching up with my PbPs.

Charsis has been quietly listening to the proceedings from the back near the door and having heard Zaranae's pledge to assist Saul he finally steps forward to stand beside her and agree to help Saul in his endeavours.
"This is nasty business here so I'll throw my hand up and say yes to helping you. Especially with that nice little bonus involved."

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis' eyebrows betray his thoughts on how Saul addressed him, but he lets it slide and jumps down off the table to follow Zaranae over to Saul.
"It appears that this lot put some kind of flash into one of the fires. I noticed something strange but it was too late and all I got for my time was an eye full of blinding white light."
"These fine people," he indicates first Zaranae and then the others he spotted after he regained his sight, "stopped the thieves from the worst of their work. I don't know where the chest is though. A couple of them escaped when they saw their leaders," he points to the woman and the wizard, "fall. Perhaps they took it."
He moves closer to Zaranae, standing slightly closer to Saul than her but indicating by his proximity and earlier gesture that she was instrumental in stopping the thieves.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Taking Zaranae's advice, Charsis climbs up onto the nearest table and says loudly, "HEY. Everybody calm down. Everything is now under control. Those responsible are now well in hand or have fled. Saul will be back momentarily," I hope he thinks to himself, "to take charge of the situation. Until then everybody just sit down or move away from the stage and the bodies."
Diplomacy Check. (1d20+3=12)
He looks down at Zaranae. "How was that?"

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

"Damn thing is, I was only staring 'cause I thought there was something odd about it... my own fault really. I think I could get used to having you fight at my back like that though. Yeah, close is definately where I'd want you." He says this last remark with a wink and a smirk.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

As Charsis' sight slowly returns, he sees that almost everyone is down on the floor cowering. He also sees the last of the thugs exit the building.
He turns to Zaranae and queries her, "what the hell just happened? How come I miss all the fun?" He says the last with a half serious frown.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1
Zaranae Rivendale wrote:
Standing next to Charsis she says, "Hey gorgeous, reach out and grab my leg, work you way up to standing back to back with me."

Charsis smiles despite his situation. "Boy am I glad to hear your angelic voice. Of course it would be much better if I could see your angelic face, but I'll take what I can get at this stage."

She guides his hand to her leg and he resists the urge to move it anywhere but up to her hip, which isn't so bad anyway he thinks with a wry grin. Standing back to back with her now, he gives her hip a squeeze before letting go and holding his Short Sword out in front of him, giving it a few test swings.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis pulls his hand back under the table, shaking it where he almost cut himself. He sighs, resigned to the fact that he is practically useless, at least until Zaranae arrives.
He hopes it's soon.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Realizing he is under the weapons table and knowing exactly where he put Zaranae's weapons, he tries to gather them up quietly, so as to get them to her once his sight has returned.
Stealth Check. (1d20-1=9) Damn you Armour Check Penalty...

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 1

Charsis was looking directly at the brazier, thinking he had spotted something out of the ordinary, when it went off.
Will Save. (1d20+1=5)
His cry of surprise turns to one of frustration as he realizes that all he can see is a big blinding sea of white.
Initiative Roll. (1d20+8=13)
He curses loudly in Shoanti and draws his Short Sword, kicking himself mentally for leaving his Earthbreaker in his room. Once the voice makes it's demand however, he realizes that he is going to be no good in a fight and groping around, climbs under a table to catch his wits and attempt to blink and rub away his blindness.
