About Cestrus Boll

Cestrus Boll was raised by his uncle to be an acolyte of pharasma. His daily routine involved an hour long trip from his small cottage in the woods, to the temple in town and back again late at night.
One such night, at the age of 17, Cestrus came upon two men. The first seemed to be hurt, lying still in a fetal ball, with the second seemingly praying over him. On closer inspection, a grim truth came to light. The second man was a ghoul, eating the first.
The ghoul struck without warning, and clawed through the thin tunic Cestrus was wearing. Cestrus' body fought to succumb to the chill touch of the grave, to freeze up, as the former victim had done. But that night, Pharasma's glory shone upon him, giving him the strength to fight on. He clutched his holy symbol in his fist, and let Pharasma's strength flow through him. The creature fled in terror.
Cestrus managed to make it to town before collapsing with fever, able to warn the town guard about the ghoul and it's victim before passing out.
Days passed. The fever worsened to the point that his mind began to burn itself out. Finally, on the 5th day, Cestrus' fever broke. Though his mind was never the same, and his memory became fleeting, his other strengths returned. He began to truly perform his duties to Pharasma well. First as an acolyte, and then as a cleric. Professor Lorrimor became a common visitor through the years, asking a myriad of questions about the creature that he had encountered and giving guidance on how to handle other creatures of the undead. Now, upon hearing the grim news, Cestrus makes haste for Ravengro, to visit his friend one last time.
