Appearance/Personality:

Spoiler:

Cernan is an Assimar with elvin features. He is pale enough to be mistaken for an elf or half-elf from a distance. However at close range his otherworldly coloring becomes unmistakable.
His 'fair' skin is a pale burnished Gold, and his 'white' hair is actually shining Silver. He has distinctively pointed ears which he could hide under his long shining hair if desired (But, why would he?) And Long, black eyebrows (All the better to waggle at the ladies!) over piercing Deep Purple eyes.
Cernan wears armor heavy enough to protect himself in battle (because, he's not stupid) but light enough to still be able to move swiftly around the battlefield thanks to Caydean's blessings.
In 'heavy' battle, he will wear a helm, but generally forgoes such protections to better display his Deity's blessings, and his own good looks. (How can they be inspired by me if they can't see my face?!?)
He sometimes wears jewelry and ear adornments, because he thinks they enhance his attractiveness. But he is not overly attached to them per se. (Come on, How can you really improve on THIS?)
When not dressed for trouble, he dresses in the best (IE=most expensive he can afford) clothes, silks and supple leathers are his preferred materials, all in colors that either enhance or complement his natural coloring.

Cernan is cheerful, bold, brave and fun-loving.
He is also stubborn, egotistical, opinionated and occasionally a drunkard. Pretty much the perfect Priest of Caydean. Some have dared to question why he isn't a Paladin of the popular Power.

In battle, whether social or serious, Cernan prefers to show off as much as possible. He's no swashbuckler, but with his natural athleticism and rapier wit he does a pretty close imitation. But when things get serious he's smart enough to put his personal ego aside (enough) to get the job done. He's happy to aid the fight by supporting the better warriors with his spells. (And somehow still manage to take the credit for it. In Caydean's name, of course.)

Background:

Spoiler:

Cernan was destined for great things from birth. And he knew it. Just ask him.

Born to a highly respected and wealthy family in <Country/City>, his otherworldly heritage was immediately obvious. Fortunately, the family's friendship with a powerful priest paid off when he publicly declared the Aasimar was a sign of the god's favor on the family. (And coincidentally not the result of the wife's dalliance with a disguised heavenly being. Which it was.) In fact, both his parent's were typical rich, spoiled, politicians. So they did what all good rich spoiled politicians do. They continued to ignore their marriage vows with each other privately, while publicly taking full advantage of their new son to reap more prestige and political influence.

Cernan was born with the proverbial silver spoon. He was raised primarily by nurses and tutors, who were no substitute for a parents love. (And they did love their son. They were just really lousy at showing it.) Fortunately the child's natural inclination was for kindness and caring. And perhaps a touch of mischief.
His blessings from the Powers became evident long before his formal training ever began. No matter how influential his family, rumors still abounded, and kids will be kids. Once he entered the world of formal education, his fellow students thought they would teach Cernan his place. Caydean's first blessing became evident, and the bullies found themselves facing a child who now towered over them. via Enlarge Person Cernan became instantly popular, and he found he liked it.

Cernan grew into a handsome, popular young man over the years, (Aging at roughly the same rate as the elves in the city,) but as a son of a wealthy family, managed to avoid having or learning any real responsibility. It was finally decided that with his heritage, his blessings, and his undeniable strength of personality, he would be apprenticed to the priesthood. Every priest visited gave the same answer. Cernan was destined for great things. But he would pass through hell on earth to get there. He finally ended up electing to join the temple of the young upstart, but highly popular power, Caydean. It was not really a surprise. Although there had been those betting on his joining the Callistrians. But while he definitely favored certain aspects of their worship, his personality wasn't really compatible with revenge.

Besides, the Caydean's had more fun. And it was rumored that the frisky otherworlder who had begotten Cernan into his family was likely a servant of the fun-loving Power. Or perhaps even an avatar of the power himself. (Highly unlikely, given that Cernan started THAT rumor himself.)

So Cernan went off to 'priest school' as he called it. The priesthood was small, (More applicants turn out to be future alcoholics than future priests) But were more than capable of handling even a 'blessed' willful applicant. And succeed he did. Despite his philandering ways, his tendency to over-indulge DURING lectures, and his general unwillingness to accept responsibility for ANYthing. Even when it was his fault. He passed or exceeded everything they gave him to do. But he had to learn to accept responsibility. And soon. OR all of his supposed blessed future would come to naught. And that spelled possible doom for many lives.

So, as fully prepared as classroom teaching can make you, trained well to defend himself if needed, (and take the fight to the enemy, if needed), And outfitted with the best his parent's money could afford. (What he hadn't spent carousing with his buddies) he was told that several high priests, including a few from other temples, had all had the same vision. Cernan had to go to the Worldwound.

Cernan was told that he must 'follow his heart, keep faith in himself, his fellows, and his deity. If he did, he would learn the greatest secret that any Power can bestow upon a mortal. If he did not succeed,'... Most priests stopped talking there, as if they all had the message end at the same time. But one managed to continue,...
'there would be no need to return home. There would be no home to return to.'
So prepared, with a letter of introduction to a battlepriest of the forward command, Cernan left his home and headed towards the Worldwound.
