Backstory:

Celeste was born to a serf parents under a draconic and unreasonable lord. They were dirt poor and lived in mud hovels, trying as much to tend to the lord's lands as well as ekk what they could in their free time in the nearby forests. Celeste might have lived and died as serf, but one day, somebody came for her, claiming that she had magical talent. Her parents, wanting the best for her, were all too happy to give her over to the Order of Merlin (they had too many mouths to feed as it is). She trained with them, then on one visit back to her family, found that they had been executed by the cruel lord, for not meeting the quota. In anger, she razed the Lord's castle to the ground, in answer for what had been done to her family. She kept the Lord's whip as a memento of her vengeance done, before returning to the Order of Merlin, never visiting her hometown again. She distinguished herself in the war against demons, and when her mentor was killed during one such assault, the Order of Merlin sent her back to assist the Pope.
