Cel drops to his knees, tears starting to stream down his face, and says in a defeated voice as he lets the air out of his lungs, "Anything you need."
With all of the excitement dying down and the major's comment about finding friends, Cel's brain finally starts to settle in that Alaina is missing. His face squinches up, turns bright red, and tears begin to form. He clenchs his fists, inhales as deep as he can, and creates such a Valsalva that if he had an aneurysm it would almost assuredly rupture, . He screams out, "Where is she?! " He inhales again, grunts in pain, and raises his hands in firing stance, and he screams, "" He yells in pain this time, the swirling like a tornado around him, he walks up to Terry with his hand an inch from his face, and one more time screams, ""
Cel blurts out, "Who he?! Dara was scared by a he! Who is it?!"
Cel takes on a look of confusion again, "Components for spells? What do you mean?" He flashes red again, Not the time for these kinds of questions, Cel, then clamps his mouth shut and tries to look intimidating again.
Cel eyes the pouch with growing curiosity, "Should...should I pick it up?" He doesn't drop his firing stance, but it is clearly more and more challenging to keep his eyes off of the mystery pouch the closer he gets to Terry.
Cel giggles a little as the man gets up-ended, he again goes for broke on his shot, tryin to take aim through the flailing limbs of the now-beast Xizoh
Cels face clinches up in anger and he tries to do to Terry what he did to the shadow...
Cel gasps slightly and tries to catch his breath after such a violent Blast, then sees Terry...the man who betrayed him with all of his sweet, sweet lies...and prepares to attack again.
A blend of fear and anger takes hold of Cel's body, this time he inhales and does the most intense Valsalva he can before letting go...
Cel extends his inhale allowing himself to feel the pain of it, and exhales with all of his force...

Cel reacts to Alaina readying her shield and takes a deep breath in. The wind currents begin to swirl around him and he settles into his practiced shooting stance. He doesn't release with Major Kijel's warning, but he is ready to fight if this escalates further.
Cel fixates on the drawer, almost too much for him to resist his curious nature. He tries really hard to pay attention to the conversation and only catches bits and pieces as he tries to inconspicuously crane his neck to see more. That is, until he catches enough of Terry's words to interpret it as a confession of a plot for murder. "What?! You...you're going to...you just admit it like that?!"
Cel frowns with concern after Dara slaps his hand away, "Dara, why are you keeping things from us?! We might be able to help you!"
Cel comes over to awkwardly put a hand on Dara's shoulder and pat it an unnecessarily large amount of times, "Are you sure you're fine? You don't look fine. Maybe we shouldn't leave yet, let you get some rest and find another way out of town."
Cel digs through his pack a second time, "Um, I don't really have the spare change, I'll just pay a gold for my breakfast and part of the rations. You're welcome everyone!" At the comment about the crowd Cel leans in to Alaina and whispers, "We should slip out soon if everyone's distracted right? Should we go wake them up?"
Cel takes a deep breath in with the plate. "This is great! And thank you for offering the rations, how much do we owe you for those and breakfast?"
Cel rumages through his pack, "I could use some more trail rations I think. Do you you have anything like that?"
"Can I get you anything? Maybe some breakfast?" he says eyeing the drink.
Cel rolls out of bed, puts on some warm clothes and heads downstairs. He sees Dara and says in a chipper tone, "Good morning!." Then he notices that she has ale. "Oh...are you okay?"
As Cel leaves with Alaina he whispers to her, "Hey, I think I think those two over there are watching us," and points toward two people across the bar as non-chalantly as he can.
Cel takes out another gold and digs into the delicious food without reserve.
Cel stares at Elioden for a moment before asking in confusion, "I'm a knight?" Dara's statement reminds Cel of an incredibly important fact, that he's a growing boy. "Extremely hungry! And I'll take a room!" He puts two gold down on the table for the room.
Cel's demeanor turns slightly sad at Xizoh's comment, "Oh, yeah, we probably don't do we."
Cel frowns, "Uh, yeah, lets definitely not go down there. And my name is Cel, not Pel! Where did Pel come from anyway?"
Cel gets slightly nervous, "No, we're here to rest! Just passing through. This place is real pretty, though. I wish we could stay a little longer."
Cel smiles, and whispers back "I'm fine," in a genuine tone. He continues on listening to the two discuss the area they are in.
Cel's face starts to twist in confusion, I'm relatively certain that this whole place is crazy! People don't like Terry, the city is built on madness, good music turns out to be rude...I'm over my head. He doesn't speak, and just settles into Alaina.
It went perfectly! We got lucky with perfect weather in a place that rains 12 feet per year. As an aside, I can't recommend Stefan and Audrey Photography enough. They really know how to handle both taking pictures of people and nature!
Cel maintains his scowl at the bard, but snickers a little at the "crowds just love sex" comment, then returns to a frown. He didn't know we existed?! Well, I guess that does make sense. His scowl softens toward the bard, but only a little.

Pretty good, Acquisitions Incorporated (the live D&D show they put on) was the highlight, but that's no surprise. Went to a panel from a guy who wrote an entire book on a civil war that happened in EVE Online that was really fascinating. It was like listening to an actual account of real life history the way it played out. The most important piece was I only had to do 5 injury screens on just over a thousand Enforcers this year, way better than last year where I had about 30 people I had to assess.
"Oh that's what he was singing?! I didn't even really notice the words, I got caught up in the melody. I'm sorry Henri," then casts a scowl over at the bard.
Cel calls out to Henri, "Why are you being so mean to this guy?! He's super great! And throwing a glass at the singer...Henri, what's wrong, are you okay?"
It occurs that I never posted to say I was working PAX all weekend, my apologies! There was no internet left with all the attendees, and I more or less lived at the support staff HQ for 4 days.
Cel wiggles in his seat to the song, ALMOST in time with the beat, but just not quite all the way there. When the song takes a shift he's so lost in the music that he completely stops paying attention to the words being sung. That is until Henri gets up and throws her glass. "WHOA! What's going on?!" a look of pure confusion on his face.
Cel has a look of both shock and confusion, "Brave and true?" spoke to no one in particular. "This is starting to get kind of weird." After returning the cheers to Alaina he leans closer and whispers to her, "I think Archana is trying to spy on us. He looks like I normally do when I'm trying to find out information."
Cel steps up next to Alaina, "Um, I'll try one too," some trepidation in his voice after his last experience with alcohol. He places a gold coin on the table.
Cel continues to marvel at the tour and whispers to Alaina, "I've never seen such majesty this close up before!" Upon reaching the wall after the introduction Cel looks up to the guards above the gate, grins widely, and waves in a wide arc several times.
Cel's face takes on a bit of a red hue, Oh no, I think I talked too much again! His mouth shuts and turns into a thin line as if he clamps hard enough it would stop a torrent of words from falling out.
Cel grins, "Why thank you! I am excellent! Hang on, who's 'Sir Pel'? And how do you know about some of us?" Catching the Major's eye, "And why don't you like him? This guy is great!"
Unsure of what he's supposed to do in these settings he goes for the comfortable and starts studying the map. He tries to listen to everything going on, but much of it feels over his head. There's a comfort in the map, though, familiar from the geographical studies when he was a bit younger. He squints trying to determine scale from the map. In a soft, slightly sheepish voice Cel asks, "How far is Occhnor from Kinghaven?"
Oblivious to the Major, Cel blurts out, "Wooooooooow, this is beautiful!" His eyes continue gazing around the majesty still not recognizing that someone spoke.
Cel nods kurtly with a look of determination on his face.
Yep, players union that has allowed themselves to be completely handcuffed at the discretion of the commissioner, Roger Goodell. Such an unfortunate situation. And happy birthday Henri!
"Those things sound awful! Can they be fought? Do they die?" Cel asks in excited tones. After hearing the story, "Oh yeah, I know that story, those creatures are real? I'd always thought those were just made up stories for kids, nothing based on any reality." He blushes again. "I guess those stories had to come from somewhere. Sorry." He takes a small step back sinking in among the group a bit again.
They do have bonuses written into their contracts, but it's often for things like "if you get 1000 passing yards you get X bonus." It's never a situation of wins or length of season because they argue it's a team game so no one does it above others. So, their paycheck is just like yours (I think) or mine, where it never changes in size, it's just given to you every two weeks. How many games you play isn't reflected in it. Yeah, I recently met with an independent massage practitioner who exclusively works with NFL players. She has never had a "nerve guy' as part of her team, has realized from me she needs one. So, now when these guys get hurt she finds out, yells at them for getting treatment by the team, and sends them to me first. Each team has their own medical team, and the surgeons are all phenomenal, but the Athletic Trainers and strength and conditioning coaches they use are just a good ol' boys network. Once you're in, you're in for life, and when someone leaves you tell the team a "good replacement" that happens to be a friend of yours and now that person is in. People aren't being hired on merrit, they're being hired because they're friends. It's resulted in flat out negligent treatment because they are bad practitioners. Many of them think they're doing good work, but they REALLY don't. The owners just don't care enough to do anything about it. |
