Cardinaal (a name which translates roughly into 'First Brother') was born as Shadow Star's first shadow was made when his mother held him up to see her new-born son.
A shadow created by a child borne into Shadow became a new creature, a self aware shard of the Plane.
While physically native to the Plane of Shadows, he has been a nearly constant companion to his brother throughout both their lives.
He commonly disguises himself as his brother's shadow.
In times of trouble, he carries his brother though his hold on this plane is tenuous and can disrupted fairly easily.
He ranks as a Minion and follows their rules.
