The first doctor sees what Lyla's doing in time to throw himself aside, but the second one isn't so lucky. His coat catches fire and he crumples to the ground, rolling around in vain to extinguish it before finally expiring.

The Grey Maiden manages to duck under the worst of the incoming flames. Some of the patients have roused from their drugged stupor and are now cowering against the far wall.

Demitri's strike comes down on the wererat doctor's head, who simply closes his eyes.

"...Achaekek be praised."

The wererat crumples under the strike as his flesh sizzles from the power in the inquisitor's blade.

Ortik is up!

The wall will grant Lyla partial cover, yes.

The wererat screams in surprise and pain as Demitri's silvered blade slices past his guard and cuts a swath of blood across his chest. His reddened eyes fall on Demitri and he starts stabbing at him!

Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Bane Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6

His rapier gets past Demitri's shield and goes through his ribs, glowing red as it finds its mark. He then lunges forward, biting at the man's face!

Bite Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Fortitude Save (Demitri): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

The bite is little more than a cut across his brow.

Ortik is up!

Reflex Save (Physician): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

One of the Physicians manages to twist and squirm away from the fires that consume his colleague. The burning Physician finally screams in genuine pain, collapsing in a heap while another one's coat gets singed.

The wererat doctor bares his teeth in a snarl and spins on his heel, stabbing at Nalun with his rapier!

Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Bane Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

The rapier connects with Nalun's shoulder, and the rapier's blade glows red. The pain that comes from the wound seems to be magnified as the bounty hunter's flesh *sizzles*.

Ortik is up!

The wererat doctor parries Demitri's swing with contempt.

Lyla is still up!

The doctor's face abruptly elongates into a long, rat-like muzzle. The CRACKING and TEARING of flesh and bone echoes throughout the office, and he hunches over slightly while drawing a gleaming rapier. The image of a mantis' head is emblazoned on the sword's pommel.

Brown fur sprouts all over his body, and he chuckles evilly. A long rat tail drops out from under his robe and twitches.

"Indeed." He snarls, his facade of good cheer completely dropped. "Our work will continue. You'll make for a fine test subject."
