You know, I just realized how much 20 points hurts when your stats start at 8. Woo! This'll be entertaining to make. Yay for 14s!

So far I have his levels prepped and a lot of other work done for the character itself. I'll probably end up somewhere between the two archetypes I listed, with a hint of combat.

Priority, you say? Count me in on that, my friend!

Expect a fleshed-out concept by the end of the day. Probably something charismatic, most likely a rogue/assassin kind of deal. I just need to do some reading on RotRL, so I can get a better feel.

I have no objections to this, Willpower. It's sad that you have to end it like this, but it is understandable - I'd be blown away with the two failures myself.

I wish you and your players the best, and hope they find the Captain in good health!

Course of Action:

The Captain can only think of a few possible outcomes, seeking but to help his fellows in their missions and personal lives, as well as the boat as a whole. He believes, point per point...

1: The wounded half-dragon does need medical care, and he would most likely want Nerine to oversee it, since she has replaced Avion - also, I would like to have a few others watch and oversee so they can learn medical facts and get training later on it.

2: The Seaborn needs help. Devannis will probably instruct Kai and Suny to the Seaborn to assist in its navigation for the time being, and help train the other sailors - leaving Devannis to man the wheel and handle the normal day-to-day assignments on the Brotherhood.

3: As for the cursed area? It gives Pantera the creeps. It's not worth his time, or the time of his fellows, to stay. It only brings bad omens, and may trouble the crew further as far as he can tell.

4: Beyond this, Devannis would like the original Seaborn crew to stay on the Brotherhood, whilst some of his best crew/sailors go to the Seaborn to get her steady. We need both ships operable ASAP, as a still ship is a dead ship.

Devannis finally leaves the stronghold that is known as the captain's quarters - a place that brings sure fear if ever called there alone. It is here that the Captain moves to the wheel, and ensures none touch it. He clears his throat, and moves to the balcony.

"My fellow sailors and refugees, I have not only started the organization of lost fellows, I have given us a second vessel of which to guide us from this hellhole! We have suffered, through much effort and aide of my friends and the crew, and as a result, we have gained an ally and his own crew, as well as a place to put many of our supplies. If any of you wish to join that ship, please prepare now, and do so by morning - for we will stay afloat nearby for the evening, and sail out in the morning.

"I also want two officers, Suny and Kai, to sail with the Seaborn, and ensure that the boat is sent along in the best manners - granting repairs and needed leadership. This way, we will have two competent crews, rather than one expert and experienced one. We are now sister ships, and begin to form a small gathering.

"I did find a current, and I wish to follow it further along as we prepare to leave this evil place - the water disturbs my nose, and fill sit with its alien presence. It is then that we can begin to mend the hopes and dreams of our new friends, and guide them back to the hope we have in our hearts this day. I also wish to address that the wounded ally we have rescued will be treated in time by our own dear Nerine, who shows great proficiency in mending wounds. In time, she may yet recover from her injuries.

"If any of you, at any time, wish to ask myself or the officers further questions, please do so in private - I request this in the most polite of ways. Thank you for your patience, and I will see you in the morning."

Here he immediately leaps the balcony, and walks back into his cabin, shutting the door firmly - foreshadowing a mood of isolation until the morning, perhaps.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

I try to come on when my minions remind me - they do all my hard work and everything for me, so it's their fault I haven't really posted lately.

Also, holidays are eating up 100% of my time at the moment, will be free to resume once this day is over. Until then... off to family.

These are the best things Devannis can imagine for the time being, and will execute them in short manner if not stopped. (Meaning, my next post.)

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

"C'mon, lads. We're almost done here!"

These words echoed in his mind as he spoke them, and headed back to the Brotherhood. He coughed lightly as he stopped exerting himself, and boarded his ship.

From here he took his leave from the deck, and closed the door to his cabin after entry. Seating shortly after, Devannis took his hat off, and disrobed to comfortable clothes, and began to work on a navigation chart. He updated them to show where they'd recovered the Seaborn, and began to write in a journal to himself.

I may post the journal at a later date. Who knows... also, in class.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

I always believe I do - when I need the ship's rigging to get repaired, I picture Suny climbing up and inspiring.

When my hull's getting blasted apart, I can see Nerine working underwater. And when I need commands shouted, I see Kai support Pantera in his actions.

Also - I do see Raz sometimes, usually when I need my shells to slow my opponent...

Beyond those - the game is really fun. The economy is so fluid, I guess the word is. Shipbuilding is the big effort, requiring you to first make the raw materials, then take those and make manufactured materials, and then make more manufactured materials, and then make a ship. It's very realistic in that process.

Beyond that? Picture 24v24 ship battles over a port. Just imagine it, and thus is the glory capstone of the game.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Why yes, Kai, yes it is. I'm on Antigua, as 'Devannis Pantera' and I pilot 'The Brotherhood.' I figured I'd borrow them, y'know...

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Hey guys. For the most part, my comment about my family crisis held a lot of truth. My grandmother is starting to suffer from age, and it's hard to watch her now even when we're there for the holidays.

In better news, I've found one of my old MMOs went Free-to-Play recently. I'll provide a link later so you can visit - and it's relevant to this PBP's interests...

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Fortitude Save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Devannis gives a smile - and as he hoists the rope about, he ensures the section of the rigging is put to good use. Hemp isn't cheap, at least now, anyways.

"C'mon, lads! Hoist it about! Let's get these folk out of their mess! PULL!"

Sorry for my very, very delayed post. I had issues involving my family, and I'll be posting regularly soon.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

With a resounding sigh, he checks everything he can possibly see - no mere eye-looker, Devannis wanted to know what had happened here to see so few left alive. He checked all the crates, all the barrels, and did not stop his search for anything.

All the while, though, he ensured he kept an eye on Darius - something was off about that one.

As he opens the specially treated crate, he does take a good gander, not touching what he saw, and closes it again. He nods firmly, and stretches a bit before turning back to Darius.

"Mr. Drevard, it seems you were running low anyways - it is good fortune that we came upon you! We'll be ensuring you and your fellows get their welcome aboard our ship, and hope we can all cooperate from there."

He smiles, and walks out of the room - only to see the effort given forth by his crew. It can only bring a brighter smile to his face, and deftly watches for just a moment - and then lends a hand himself.

"Here - tie them like this. They should last a bit longer that way!"

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Willpower, not sure if you noticed, but Darius and I are waiting for a description of what's in the hold. That way, we can continue this wonderful, wonderful adventure. Just a heads-up.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

It sounds like a plan. Tie the rigging to the small boat, tow em over, and tie them to a real boat, and tow them out.

On another note, in our calmer times in this game, when I post, I listen to very soft, very meaningful classical music.

So I want to share this piece with you, and enjoy it - I know how beautiful it sounds, and it brings forth a lot of emotion whenever I hear it.

Chopin's 'Raindrop'.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Sorry for the absence, guys. I've had a giant workload from college, and I'm not getting time to post. I hate databases now.

With a grin as he watches, Devannis can only admire his crew's natural inclination to aid. He agrees with Garth's decision, and moves to look back to Darius.

"As we can both plainly see, my men, and ladies, are more than aware of the issues within your crew - possibly better than I. What needs to happen now, Mr. Drevard, is getting everyone from here to our ship. I believe the safest way to transport the wounded one is by the boat, though flight may be faster. I leave that choice to Kai and Garth.

"I believe, though, that I shall inspect your hold and what you have left - we need to know precisely what we can salvage from your ship. If you'll do me the honor of leading the way, Mr. Drevard?"

He spreads an arm, as if to guide him towards the hold - insisting, obviously, that he go first.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

He seems to place his thoughts wisely, and looks at him with a look of empathy. Devannis seems to want to say something, but holds back.

"I see - we came from a world called Faerun, where something similar occurred. In much of the chaos, the original captain of the Brotherhood was slain, and I took his place due to my knowledge of sailing. We've been sailing for about two weeks now.

"So, as we can both tell, Mr. Drevard, your ship is unable to move due to a lack of wind in this region. No worries at all, my cr--" And is interrupted by shouts from down below. He chuckles, and shakes his head for a moment.

"Well, it seems they were faster than I could imagine they'd be. If you give your permission, they'll board and we can all begin our rescue plans, if you'll have them. You see, one of our crew identified this place as a trap for ships - sadly, your vessel was a victim. Nonetheless, we can remove you from the vessel, or remove the ship if we're fortunate enough.

"We can support what remains of your crew onboard us, if you'll wish to join, and if we can remove your ship, we can probably get you sailing behind us, or otherwise. If not, we could certainly use the spare parts from your boat to aid us in the coming travels. What do you think of all this, Mr. Drevard?"

He gives a wide smile - and then addresses the question. "As for my associate here, Garth is very aware - he can find things I can't sometimes. I appreciate how active he is."

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Captain Pantera reaches forth, his hand gloved and firmly clasping the wrist of Darius; a firm shake that tested to see if he hid a dagger 'neath his sleeve with a feel. He wore a grin, and did indeed notice the small details in his eyes.

"Thank you for the offer, Mr. Drevard. Before we begin, I have a few questions - such as, are you from this world? How did you end up stranded in this area? Just some small things, Mr. Drevard. Oh, and before I forget, this is my associate, Garth. He'll be my guardian abord your vessel - I also have a few of my other crewmates on their way, so we may conduct a full set of negotiations and inspection. We're not lookin' to pillage you, if you're getting that nerve - so relax!"

He gave a wink, and released his wrist, taking a stance in his full garb, grin still planted on his face.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Flying high over the ocean blue, Captain Pantera was at the mercy of his aiding guest, Garth. The half-dragon seemed intent on cooperating for the time being, but for now, the Captain would firmly trust him - thus, the entire 'don't drop me or you'll regret it' issue that arose in his mind.

He sighed for the few moments as he was flown towards the other boat - he could easily tell how small it was on the landing approach. He looked up at Garth, and smirked.

"Hope you're ready - negotiations start as soon as we land. Stay close - I might need you to lift me out in case it goes sour."

Within a minute of this very talking, he would land on that boat, and give a smirk, adjusting his tricorne to his head.

"Greetings to all of you! I am Captain Pantera of the Brotherhood, and it is my pleasure to have met you this day! I have allies of mine coming in by sea soon, so I only have one question! Who is in charge here, so I may further discuss the terms of our cooperation in this dastardly time of survival?"

He hoped that would work - if not, he'd surely be in a hell of a problem.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Pantera looks around him, and looks to the sea between the two boats. He taps his chin in a bit of thinking... and smiles.

"Tell you what. In the efforts of trial and error, we'll go both ways. Garth, I need you to carry me over there - that way, we can start negotiations before we actually get there. Kai, Nerine, Suny - use that rowboat, and possibly Waveflier too, to go there by sea. I agree with rowing that boat out of there - we can probably assist them in that way, no matter the results."

He snaps his fingers, and turns to his crew. He gives them a smile, and stretches, looking over to Garth.

"Whenever you're ready."

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

With his head rested in his hands, Captain Pantera thinks further on the matter. He moves to the railing, and rests his hands on it... and remembers something.

He reaches to his hip, and unfolds his spyglass (smart idea), and peers through towards the boat in question. Before he begins to analyse whatever it is he sees, he smiles.

"The issue with the rowboat, Kai, is as Nerine said. If this ship could not traverse that distance in that water, what is to say it would? Flight seems to be our best option. Oh, and in case we haven't already, drop anchor - we'll sit here for now."

He peers forth mightily through the glass, and hopes to see some sign of life.

Spot Check, aided by spyglass 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

He thinks. His hand taps his chin firmly, as he previous thoughts have since been vanquished by the sudden turn. He does smile, and begin another plan.

"That's an excellent idea, Garth. Though we know nothing of either side, or if the Dead Calm does extend to the air or not... If you feel anything, anything at all, you should return to this deck.

"However! I do wonder if you're strong enough to lift another person up with you? If that's at all possible, I want you to take me with you - we need to start negotiations of some sort with that boat. If they need help, then we should give it to them."

He looks around at the assembled crew members, and nods firmly - he seems to look for feedback, however.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Almost as soon as his crew had assembled before him, Pantera heeded the advice of his fellow sailors - that's what crew were for, eh?

He bolted back to the helm, shoved the man off violently, and grasped it, screaming out at the top of his lungs, "HANG ON! Swift turn to port!"

He took the wheel in his firm hands, and spun it violently, the wheel looking more like a discus at how fast it span, and he'd soon grasp it to keep it from turning the ship on its side. He gritted his teeth at having to do this, but he would surely be forgiven.

Profession (Sailor) +8, Shiphandling +2 : 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

I meant the subject, not the actual child. I know the kid was dead! The less people that know, the better, y'know? Anyways, back to IC posts.

And, you're welcome, Willpower. Glad to have you back.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Nothing was done - the Captain ensured that the child stayed hushed, as to not bring about further panic in a time of stress. Hopefully, this also passed to Nerine - he didn't really say to keep it quiet, as far as I recall.

Devannis peers forth into the distance. His eyes are weary from so much water, so much salt to see for miles and miles - it's as if he almost has given up on seeing land, or anything of the sort.

Then, and only then, does he notice the amount of wood in the water, and the speck in the distance.

His face grows a smile, a brilliant smile, and he whistles loudly to garner attention from the crew onboard.

"All hands, on deck! We've got company coming! Seems this current has led us towards another boat! I need everyone able-bodied on-deck NOW! We don't know if they'll be hostile or generous, so prepare yourselves! Our course is straight for that ship!"

He wears a grin now as he finishes, and adjusts his tricorne. His face holds this false smiling, and closes his eyes for a moment.

"Kai! Nerine! Suny! To the helm!" he'd cry after, having a plan forming in his mind. He licked his lips once, and played with the hilt of his cutlass.

Tonight, we will have more guests - but will they be living, or be dead?

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

You never know. Maybe he's the real propulsion, and has waterjets installed. It -is- a warforged...

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

With a great sigh, and great patience, Devannis finally had a moment to himself. He could be lost in mind as his hands held the wheel in place, ensuring the boat stayed on course.

His mind drifted to a very beautiful port-town, back on Faerun. He closed his eyes visibly, recalling the very wondrous ladies who crooked his arm to wear. He let a wide grin fill his face as he did so, and sighed again in contentment.

He opened his eyes to the current world, and still felt a tinge of that happiness - he had a boat full of crew that would gladly stand on his side if something were to happen; A cargo of refugees that would soon find a home; and his own home, this ship, where he could easily spend the rest of his days sailing.

Captain Pantera kept his eyes open now, focused on the sea he could see, and relaxed.

The party's almost over. Soon, we'll be able to rest on land, and then we can start to rebuild again. Soon, my friends. Soon!

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

As the captain resurfaces from the entire ship search, he retakes his position at the helm, and sheathes his blade. He clears his throat again, and claps his hands once.

"After a thorough search throughout the day, we have found nothing of ill intent aboard this boat - you are all safe for the time being, 'lest something foreign joins us today!

Even as we speak, I can barely make out the shape of our ally, Garth. Maybe he will also have joyous news for us - so for those who worry about their well-being, worry not! You are all safe in our hands. For those who need medical attention, feel free to guide yourself towards Nerine - she did offer her services unto us when Avion left our service."

Here he sighed, and leaned back on the railing. He watched his boat full of passengers, having known their worries at one time. They really do need hope, and just offering alcohol does not give the real thing. Why, oh why, did I forget about that?

He nods to the temporary helmsman, and takes back his place at the wheel, clasping it with a heavy sigh once again.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Oh, it happens. I just wonder what will happen next, since Kai wants to add people to the search.

Last I checked, the less people that know who the culprit is, the less chance they'll talk about it... =P

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

With a hiding of distaste in his face, he moves forward, letting those who volunteered themselves move on.

Kai, you overstepped my authority. Let's hope this isn't a trend.

"Onward, then."

He moves swiftly over near where his quarters are, through the crowd first, of course, and starts at his own room first, or at least, somewhat.

"Search my room, high and low. I'll start over here - none of us are exempt from this search, not even I."

He, however, moves to the room next door, where many passengers currently sleep at night. He begins to conduct his search.

Taking 10 - Search 10 + 2 = 12, on room 3

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

I completely agree with how you're doing it. I knew I as a player had skipped over that part that our friendly gnoll had to bring up right there of all places.

It dirties the captain's impression of him - it could have been brought up in private, in his mind, but I as a player completely agree. Now, then, we get to search this boat, room by room...

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

He nods. He knew he forgot about it, and was trying to move on. It did show he was slightly ignorant now that he forgot it and tried to move on.

"The murder of one of our own was caused by a source only Avion could have deciphered, and thus it remains unknown. If this matter continues to trouble you, I will personally inspect every room of this ship, and scour it, while you all remain onboard up on the main deck.

"In fact, let's do that now. Kai! With me! All passengers of this ship are to remain on deck until the search is done. If we find nothing, then there is no need to fear!"

And with that, blade still drawn, the Captain moved with some distaste in his mouth, towards the hold.

Try to lift spirits, and all they can do is think negatively. I understand, but... must you ruin the faith of the whole ship?

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

And, it's almost as if nobody wants to post after my speech... humm.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Makes sense. Speech posted. Hope it ain't bad. I really wish I'd put more description in.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

With much anticipation, and much anxiety, the Captain nodded to Kai, whispering to him in Draconic before he would even entertain the thought of speaking.

"Xurwk jaunus nomenes ti whais nymuer creolnali svaion. Garth ui busy, shar jaci mirjalic ekess nymuer nomeno kiri."

Draconic:

"Make sure those not present hear something similar. Garth is busy, but he deserves to hear this too."

He nods with a firm stance, and moves to the front of the helm, hands placed on the railing. His appearance is very serious, very focused, almost as if he had changed from being a 'generous' captain into something else. He clears his throat, and adjusts his tricorne.

"Good afternoon to the lot of you! It has been some time, I believe two weeks, since we first set sail onto this voyage! None of us had ever planned such a thing, and it was very, very sudden that we all had to leave our homes, take our families and friends, and rush onto whatever boat would take us.

"I believe we have come far in our time together, as crew and guests, if not friend and family. We have persevered in the showing of storms and tides, and been valiant in defending our temporary home from the clutches of wretched beasts who sought to cut our time short. We have even had to experience the loss of one of our crew, may the gods rest his soul."

Here his tone visibly changes, to something a bit darker, and more saddening.

"However, not all of us had plans to cooperate. Nay, our own surgeon, Avion Merdiota, sought to corrupt this ship in his name and the name of his deity. He is no longer with the crew, and is imprisoned for the rest of his stay on this boat."

He returns to his his more normal tone, as he raises his voice.

"Now, our journies have been hard, and we all come from different parts of life; in our previous home, we probably would have sooner gone to war with each other than cooperate - but in these desperate times, we can only look to each other for guidance, and most importantly, hope.

"What I have discovered, thanks to our friend Nerine, is that there is indeed a current in these seas! This flow is the first of many signs that everything is looking up! I can only say that there is indeed hope for us yet, for the gods themselves have seen fit to show us the path. Plan ahead, my friends! Plan for the day we hit land! Plan for the day we start anew, and can begin our life once again!"

He unhooks his blade and raises it high with a grin, allowing the sun to gleam valiantly off his blue-hued blade. He looked to his fellow sailors, and his guests, and could only wear that grin, as he did all he could to stir the entire vessel.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

All I need to post, is to see how many NPCs actually show up to his beckon and call - after all, I don't want to control them and force them to listen to this speech, hm? ;)

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

"Well, the current in question, Suny, is one that Nerine was so kind to find - unfortunately, it had been foretold by a body of a young child - may Sashelas rest his soul - and as such, I managed to find the body's flowing from the water to be a current! Now, I will make a more official announcement when we're up top, but for the meantime..."

He turns back, and inhales deeply as he looks about the final stairwell.

"ALL HANDS ON DECK! I want all passengers to join us all as I have a very important announcement to make! Hop to it, move!"

He gives a sly grin, and a wink, and finishes climbing, only to repeat his words as he moves to the helm.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

He should end up posting tonight, I just have to go bug him now.

On other notes, that's a really nice array. Almost wish I'd gotten something like that!

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Alright - go ahead and roll up his stats for him - he was thinking something like a warlock or rogue, but nothing like the nonsense we've put in our past (cough cough). But, I'll help him get finished and set up by tonight. He's known as SilentMan on these boards, and it's his first pbp, but he's a really good roleplayer.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

On another note, I'm sitting at a friend's home at the moment. He was overlooking the thread, and I wanted to ask on his behalf - do we have any more free spots, or are we full-up?

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Yup,I did mean the both of you. It's time for an epic speech - I just need to figure out how I'm going to do it.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

SRD is good stuff indeed! I think I'll go doublecheck my racials...

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

He clears his throat, and listens carefully. He made sure they got up without any questions, or if there were any, he didn't answer to them. He was ignorant until they put the statue back into Kai's room. He wipes his brow, and clears his throat.

"I can, and have before. It's much easier for me to speak like this, though. A man of my years, though you might say elf, is more or less very booksmart when it comes to things like talking.

"As far as on deck, we have a current! Yes, my friend, a current! And we'll be following it until we hit its source."

He had a smile, and rubbed his head for a moment, though he seemed conflicted. As they prepared to head on deck, he cleaned up his attire, and checked his sheathe, to look as appropriate as possible on the trip upstairs.

"Got anything prepared? People are going to ask 'bout those wounds there."

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

With a great, great sigh, the Captain sheathes his blade. Noting stone, and using common knowledge from the Realms, he closes his eyes enough to make his way over - averting his gaze. He pats her on the shoulder, and moves to position himself to lift Avion.

"There, there. S'alright now, dear. I'll make sure nobody bothers you here 'lest you need something, alright? If looking at your face did this to him, perhaps a mask might help you come back to being social with the rest of us, hm?"

He'd add a tone of hope to that, and looked over at Kai, nodding firmly.

"Alright, we're gonna take him out of here, and put him somewhere else - probably in his room for now. We do need to discuss what we'll do with him afterwards, but right now, I found a current - and we're taking it."

Strength Check(Assisting)1d20 ⇒ 13

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

The Captain nods at Kai, and responds to him in turn, equally - it seems this was one language the Cap'n spoke!

"Coi ui - kepesk persvek jaka! yth tepoha thric tairais ekess lose!"

Draconic:

It is - storm in now! We have no time to lose!

He twirls his blade about in his hand, and holds it out with much preparation. His stance changes to match.

In other words - readied action to charge the first person/thing that attempts to attack him.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

With little patience for this betrayal, Devannis cleans his blade with a bit of cloth, and twirls it once. He walks near the door, and utters forth a loud shout.

"Avion Merdiota! You have been found guilty of treason against the integrity of the ship, and the authority it holds! You will remove yourself from your cabin, or else we will be forced to enter and remove you by all means necessary. You have exactly twenty seconds to do so!"

He by no means lowers his guard - until something changes, he takes a defensive posture. No longer tolerating this, it seems.

For purposes, total defense action until something changes. So, +4 ac.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

Using what intelligence he has, the captain moves with his nimbleness towards the flank of Kai's current foe - the one he's been scoring hits on. With much haste, he knows he must be more careful.

Take back two damage, Will - I forgot my damage does not apply to undead, due to no 'precision' damage.

I was doing a lot of editting, and a lot of fixing, because my eyes betrayed me. Small stuff.

Male Half-elf, aquatic Swashbuckler 3

First Round of actions!

The captain, much to his dismay, finds that the undead he so graciously allowed have attacked his fellows! He leaps forth and strikes at the undead beside Kai, letting Suny have her own prey.

Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Damage:1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

His blade echoes in the air as it slices towards its target!

Round 2, queued.

Since most likely he missed, he tries once again - he swears he hasn't gotten rusty! However, if by some fortune he did hit, he'd move to the next one.

Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Damage:1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Alright. So from what I've read, I need to post a legit action, in preparation for round 2? Or do I need to wait for someone? Sorry, I kind of got lost.

Also, I would love to see how people picture the Captain. Somewhere I had his appearance down, but apparently it's not on the sheet here on the site. Time to search.

On another note, I'm glad the captain has a secret weapon, of sorts. He isn't good at it, since it's still foreign, but she packs a hell of a punch.

She'll sleep soundly tonight - can't say that about his blade, though, with that stellar initiative. I hope I didn't assume too much - it's not like I couldn't hear the scream. I only did what was most pressing at the time.

There was the revelation of a CURRENT. And there was a random scream. Pick your poison.
