My roleplaying group are considering a trip to GenCon 2018. With that in mind, our GM is planning on running our home Starfinder sessions as Starfinder Society sanctioned, with the hope that we could possibly bring our home game PC’s to Starfinder Society events in the future.

My issue is that I had my heart set on playing a Halfling Operative, a former member of the Free Captains who has put his pirating ways aside and decided to go “legit”. I have had the core PDF for a week now, and I had already rolled him up. It appears that you may require a boon to legally play a Halfling in SFS. I am unfamiliar with organized play. How would one go about acquiring a racial boon for a home campaign?

Thanks!

I am building an Operative with the Thief Specialization. The description states in the specialization says "You can use Sleight of Hand to make a trick attack by concealing your weapons and motions."

My question is, will the Operative need the Quick Draw feat to benefit from this if the weapon is not in hand? With a +1 BAB, you can draw a weapon as part of a Move Action. Is it then assumed that you can also draw a weapon as part of a Trick Attack, which is a Full Action? Or will you have to have the Quick Draw feat to draw the weapon as a Swift Action prior to a Trick Attack?

Lastly, what if the weapon is concealed? It is normally a Standard Action to draw a concealed weapon. Quick draw reduces that to a move action. If an Operative had Quick Draw, would he be able to draw the weapon as part of the Trick Attack, or would he have to draw one round, then Trick Attack the next?

Thanks!

So I ran the first session of the Shattered Star last night. The session ended after the party recovered the Shard of Pride, and Sheila Heidmarch activated the shard with a scarlet-and-blue ioun stone.

My question is, does the bearer of the shard gain both the full benefit of the ioun stone (+2 Int and Knowledge-history)and the full benefit of the activated shard (+2 saves vs illusion and +2 to all skill checks).

It is pretty powerful to get both. It essentially gives a +2 to all skills but a +3 to all Int-based skills (due to the Int boost). In addition to the skill boost, they will also receive the additional skill points from the Int boost.

I have no problem with allowing it if that is how the author intended it. I just want to make sure I am reading it right.

Thanks!

I recently received my order (Paizo Order #1470100). It was missing the Prince of Wolves novel. It instead had the "Before They Were Giants" novel, which was not part of my order.

I was wondering how soon after subscribing will I have access to the PDF download of the Cheliax Pathfinder Companion? I am anxiously awaiting that download so I can begin prepping Council of Thieves!

Thanks, and great job on all the great products released and still yet to come!
