Meanwhile Lord Vanderbuilt returns to his manor. He looks pale as death and is shaking. In his hand he clutches the contract that is his ruin. The shame!

He walks to the garden shed and gets some rope. He tries to avoid all the servants and especially his wife. He doesn't want to explain how he staked all the remaining wealth of the family on one card and it blew up in his face.

He sneaks into the bedroom and grabs a chair and puts it under the chandelier. As he can't reach the hook at the ceiling he ties the rope to the chandelier itself. He binds a noose, puts it around his neck and slowly lowering himself into the noose he kicks away the chair.

The chair hits the floor hard and the chandelier jingles as Lord Vanderbuilt struggles at the rope.

Question: should Campbell Vanderbuilt live, or die?

As Persephone wants to enter a distraught man rushes out of the door of the office.

While the introductions are going on, a pale Lord Vanderbuilt comes down the stairs and passes without greeting and leaves the house.

At the temple of Abadar.

As Menan leaves the library in the temple of Abadar he notices Campbell Vanderbuilt, the husband of Lady Eleanor, approaching a clerk and putting an envelope on the counter.

The clerk invites Mr. Vanderbuilt into a closed office.

Vanderbuilt's face is red and drops of sweat form on his forehead. He dabs them off with his silken handkerchief. "Yes, yes. Thank you." His hand clenches around the envelope.

He stows the handkerchief in his coat's pocket, turns and leaves the office.

"Vanderbuilt is my name."

About an hour later a well dressed man appears in the office, with a quizzical look. "Good morning. I'm looking for Mr. Marinelli."
