Calithilon's Background:
When he was a young elf in the recesses of Kyonin, Calithilon met a another young elf seated in the crook of a tree deep in the forest where no road ran. The newcomer welcomed him and offered to share his wine.

He and Calithilon drank and sang and traded boasts until the stars had wheeled halfway through their nightly course and Calithilon had fallen asleep. He awoke alone and cold, and could find no sign of the previous night's fire or the young man. But from that day forward he began to grow in insight and in foresight, ever aware of things about to happen.

As he grew to manhood, the young elf came to realize he had been touched by the divine. He read and wandered and grew in power, uncertain who he had met that night until at last, in the fullness of his power, he summoned Athaniel, a minor spirit of the Upper Worlds and questioned her. They became fast friends and Athaniel revealed to the now powerful mage that he had encountered Sinashakti, Empyreal Lord of journeys, joy and messengers.

Impressed, Calithilon dedicated himself to the pursuit of goals the Empyreal would approve of. He has taken joy wherever he could find it, in wine, song, lore, lovers, friends and even in war.

Calithilon has no permanent abode, and seldom remains in one place for long, though he often returns to favorite places and old friends.

Then the attacks of Amberfall came and ended both Calithilon's idyllic life and the lives of many of those friends. Never a joiner, Calithilon long resisted the call of the Remnant Crusade. But as the Great Forest burned and his friends were killed or scattered, the elf wizard found it harder and harder to find the joy promised by Sinashakti. His studies turned more and more to evocation and necromancy for the power to reverse the horrors visited on his world.

Now a grimmer and deadlier Calithilon has at last joined the Remnant Crusade, determined to drive out the invaders or die in the attempt.

Notes on Calithilon's Build:
Calithilon has the Diviner (Foresight) school, granting him several abilities including the Foretell Aura. He has Preferred Spell (Fireball), which allows him to spontaneously cast fireball and add metamagic feats to it without increasing the casting time. His Magical Lineage trait allows him to cast fireballwith metamagic as if the final spell level were one level lower. Thus, he can spontaneously cast a dazing fireball as a 5th level spell as a standard action.
