I'm not aware of any in APs. Even Strange Aeons (the most "occulty" AP) doesn't have any.

One note on the NPC in Captive in Crystal: it is seriously under-CRed. It is a monster with class levels so determining the total CR is based on what role it fills. The problem is that Paizo never defined the key roles for any of the classes past the CRB. So the author chose to treat them as not matching, essentially giving the CR3 monster four "half-price" kineticist levels. Really, a kineticist should be keyed to the combat role, maybe multiple roles like the barbarian, fighter, and ranger. Which would mean no half-price levels and that would increase the CR by 2. The author also used the heroic stat array, which should have increased it by another 1. It's also a great race to choose for a kineticist (but that doesn't have a listed CR adjustment). So the true total CR of that kineticist should probably be 3 higher than listed.

That's not to say the Captive in Crystal kineticist is an impossibly difficult enemy. It's just that it's quite a bit stronger than a typical "Paizo enemy" of that CR.

Understood, thank you anyway!

I know of one written in PFS 7-13: Captive in Crystal. But it are levels of Kineticist stacked upon a fey creature.

There is also another one in the Villain Codex on page 35 (pyrokineticist 7).

Thank you! I will look into both sources, it is already a great help.

Anyone has anything inside Adventure Paths, please?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if you could help me. I would like to know if there is any Adventure Path where there is a middle/high level Kineticist enemy NPC.

I have seen tens of character concepts by excellent players over the years, I have seen Yoon's Character sheets, now I would like to see how Paizo builds them as enemies.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you very much, both of you!

My Calder is NG and worships Gozreh, as I wrote. I found the history of the Irriseni Ulfen simply irresistible and since Irrisen is one of the most likely place to find Hydrokineticists the two things merged.

Your suggestions are all very interesting, Irori would have been a very good choice, since my version of the Kineticist is always one bad day away from a cataclysm...

Hello everyone!

I was wondering, is there a specific God/Goddess that has Kineticists in its portoflio?

My Character in ROTRL is an Irriseni Ulfen that was helped at a certain point by a Gozreh-worshiping Druid from the Heralds of Summer's Return, so he has decided to follow that faith.

Thank you!

By default, SLA's provoke an AoO. So to override that default we need something telling us it does not provoke. (By default SLA's are also a standard action).

You can use this form infusion once as part of an attack action, a charge action, or a full-attack action in order to make melee attacks with your kinetic blade. Since it’s part of another action (and isn’t an action itself), using this wild talent doesn’t provoke any additional attacks of opportunity. The kinetic blade deals your kinetic blast damage on each hit (applying any modifiers to your kinetic blast’s damage as normal, but not your Strength modifier). The blade disappears at the end of your turn. The weapon deals the same damage type that your kinetic blast deals, and it interacts with Armor Class and spell resistance as normal for a blast of its type. Even if a telekineticist uses this power on a magic weapon or another unusual object, the attack doesn’t use any of the magic weapon’s bonuses or effects and simply deals the telekineticist’s blast damage. The kinetic blade doesn’t add the damage bonus from elemental overflow.

Because this is not its own specific action, but part of another action, what we care about here is whether the other action that we are using this as part of provokes or not. So I might make a full-attack, creating a kinetic blade as part of my full attack. I would not provoke any AoOs if I just use this to stab my opponent. If I instead tried a bunch of disarm or trips with my full-attack though (and did not have improved disarm/trip feats), each of those would provoke as normal. Forming the kinetic blade would itself not add any additional AoOs than whatever action I'm taking would.

TLDR: Using kinetic blade does not provke an AoO. The action we are using the kinetic blade with may or may not provoke - depending on the action and other circumstances.

Thank you, thank you very much! The explanation is really quite clear. A friend of mine had postulated something similar but getting a confirmation on the Paizo Forum is always better.

Good evening everyone,

for my first post I am humbly seeking an answer on the workings of the Kinetic Blade.

In its description it says "[...] using this wild talent doesn’t provoke any additional attacks of opportunity".

Now, my dilemma is based on the word additional: does it still provoke an AOO because it is still a Spell-Like Ability? Does it refer to a potential AOO triggered by gather power?

Every post I read on Kinetic Blade assume that it does not provoke AOO but the word "additional" is keeping me awake at night.

I sincerely apologise because i am sure there have already been plenty of discussions on this but i cannot for the life of me find them. Also, my thanks in advance to anyone who will decide to help!
