Hi all,

I was told that off site campaign advertising is tolerated, so I hope this doesn't offend anyone.

I am restarting a campaign called Man vs Machine set in post spellplague Forgotten Realms Waterdeep area to start. Character start at level 8, with typical gold for that level, and epic fantasy 25 point point buy for attributes. Max HP each level.

We are looking for 2-3 players. The campaign is located here: http://www.pbphud.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=747

We will be restarting and picking up close to where the previous PCs left off. The reason we had to restart is because I got sick for a while, and was unable to post, and most of our players had gone on to new games in the time that followed.

A little bit about our site:

Our forum based dice roller works by enclosing dice rolls in the {dice}{/dice} tags. of course with all bbcode you use [] instead of {}. so for example if I wanted to roll 3 attacks I could do {dice}1d20+5,1d20+5,1d20+5{/dice}. You can add as many modifiers as you want after the roll so {dice}1d20+5-3+7{/dice} would work as well.

We also have a custom map software that saves and is always online. You can lay down tiles for your terrain and obstacles, and use custom avatars to represent your characters and the npcs. The demo is at http://www.pbphud.com/maps/?id=demo. Play around with it and read the instructions and let me know any questions you might have. It's HTML5 so you can drag and drop tiles, you don't have to cut and re-paste. This map is available to anyone who registers on our site, you can make your own maps on your own, you don't have to host your site with us. Currently it is ad free, though that may change at some point. If there are ads they will be out of the way and not intrusive.

We also have s chat bar at the bottom of the forum where quick links can be placed. Click Edit Links and paste your urls to each web site in there. I mainly use them for character sheets, maps, rules references, DM notes, combat tracker spreadsheets, stuff like that. But you can put anything you want in them. Click the corresponding letter and a pop up will appear as an overlay of the site, with the web site in the pop up overlay. Handy to access info without having to switch tabs while you're posting.

Aside from that we also have a shadowrun dice roller, {hide=<forumusername1>,<forumusername2>}This text will be hidden to everyone bu the specified users{/hide} tags, and some other goodies, and we're willing to code pretty much anything some one needs for their game within reason as our time allows (which reminds me another game was looking for a custom dice roller, I best get that done over he holidays).

And that about sums it up. We have chat rooms, instant messaging, a social community similar to facebook for our site, statistics, and lots of other goodies.

And that about sums it up. Anyone who's interested please post on our forums for quickest response, though I will check back here as often as I can.

Cheers all!

Hi all,

I am looking to create a fully functional character creator along the same lines as D&D Insider's, in that it will calculate all pre requisitites for you and have lightbox links to the d20pfsrd.com page for that specific item.

I am wondering if something like this is legitimate or not. I don't want to get too far in only to find out that it's against something in the OGL, or against Pathfinder's policies and so forth.

I do know that using the term Pathfinder is a no no, but I see all of the other character creator's / sheets / excel sheets doing the same, and I'm not charging a fee to use it or anything, just site ad revenue.

I started development on it today and plan on putting at least a couple of hours a day in till it's done. Once I get the basic foundation code set up it's mainly database population, as the majority of the content are feats and spells. It is a lot of work but I expect to have it done within the next 3-4 months. putting in 10-15 hours a week most weeks.

So looking for feedback on viability, interest levels, functionality suggestions, and really just whether this project has any major chance of getting squashed by paizo or wizards of the coast.

Thanks all,

Gicker

Hey all,

I am looking to start a new pathfinder game set in Post Spellplague Forgotten Realms.

Your party is part of the Waterdhavian Special Guard, a section of the city guard devoted to rooting out and taking care of threats to Waterdeep that are, out of the ordinary. Last night an elven ship was brought into port severely damaged, with all of the crew dead except a single female elf, who said before dying, 'Evermeet... destroyed'. You've been brought the only witness, an old ex pirate fisherman who helped bring the ship into port after encountering it out at sea in his small vessel.

The game will be casual posting, post when you are able to. Looking for 3-4 players maximum. Any and all Pathfinder or D&D 3.x content is viable. Advanced races are allowed under normal D&D 3.x rules. You can be any forgotten realms race whatsoever that fits within the level cap and has a race entry for, as well as racial templates such as half celestial, vampire and so forth.

Gunslingers are allowed, but if you're going to play one you need to talk to me first, privately, as there are certain things your character will know that others will not, and also, you will not be able to start with the party right off the bat if you are a gunslinger.

Looking to get this started within a week from now if we can find a few people by then. If you are looking for a good Pathfinder character generation check out Hero Lab. A bit pricey for all the Pathfinder content, but a great tool. I use it myself.

I will do my best to keep an eye on replies here, but your best bet, if interested, is to register on and post on the forum where the game is being held: http://www.pbphud.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5636

We also have a persistent online, customizable grid map where you can place your own icons, for free, whether you host your game on our site or not.

Thanks all,

Gicker

Hello,

I am starting a play by post game called No Stone Unturned at http://www.pbphud.com.

Please forgive me if this post is in the wrong place or inappropriate in some way.

About the Game:

No Stone Unturned is a Pathfinder Campaign set in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting.

The story revolves around dark forces in Chelaix that are working to uncover a dark secret that will spell the end of the Kingdom of Taldor once and for all.

The campaign starts at level one and follows a levelling pace of about 1 level every 3-4 weeks. Players are expected to post 3-5 times per week, as their schedules allow, and to inform the group of absences and breaks needed.

The campaign will have fairly heavy role play, so players should be familiar with role playing concepts and etiquette, or be willing to learn. Alignments should be good or neutral. No evil characters allowed. Characters should be motivated for some reason, regardless of alignment, to assist in Taldor's plight.

Character backgrounds will be necessary within 1 week of starting the game.

If you are interested you can go to http://www.pbphud.com/ and register on the site and forums and join the campaign as either a player or lurker through the find campaigns link on the main page. Or you can email me at stephen.squires@gmail.com.

Character generation rules will be posted in the campaign forums.

Thanks,

Gicker

Hi all,

I am considering making some pathfinder products. One would be an online character generator, and the other would be an online web site based role playing game.

I don't expect people to explain the OGL to me, though I do need to get a lawyer to help me out with that.

But I want to know beforehand, if possible, what kind of allowance there is for using pathfinder in such a manner. Would I be able to use it royalty free according to people's understanding? If so what parts would I be able to use and which wouldn't I?

Ultimately all of these questions will be answered by a lawyer, but before I make that expense, I want to see whether the idea is feasible or not, as this is coming out of my own pocket and lawyers aren't cheap.

The other question, which will ultimately also be answered by the lawyer, but would be nice to get an idea of before hand, is whether and/or what parts can I make money off of? The game and character generator will probably run off of donations to start, but I would still be interested in knowing what my options are.

Thanks all for your time,

Gicker
