Naturally Rorik will have the gunsmithing feat. Shame to the dwarf who can't repair the non-magical aspects of his own equipment. Greater shame to a dwarf of clan Cragblaster to do the same(the one thing all my dwarves have in common is that they all come from my self-made dwarf clan, and they all share the culture of the Cragblasters, a most proud, prolific, talented, and diverse[at least by Dwarven standards] clan).
Ranger, I'll be playing a ranger, since I can't guarantee being available every tuesday and I would make very roleplaying intensive characters for a rogue or inquisitor, whereas a Ranger I kinda want to make a more stoic and gruff character that could more easily hang in the background or run off for when I'm not available. @BUSquirrel: Are you using Ultimate Combat Firearms rules? If so I want to use the Trophy Hunter Archetype for rangers so I can have a dwarf w/ a gun
I wouldn't be opposed to it if you have room. However availability is an issue for me. I'm navy, and my ship goes out to sea one week out of every month right now, and I have duty on tuesday once or twice a month. I'm fond of Ventetrilo. And I'd likely play a rogue, ranger, or maybe inquisitor, y'know, to add in a skilled/sneaky type

Awesome, thanks, I've already worked out some of her stuff, I'll finish her up soon. Might not be on much for the next week though, have to visit the 'rents and do some nanny duty for the baby brother Oh and to Pathfinderize the Psion, since they've made Wizard and Sorcerer hit die d6can I boost the Psion hit die from d4 to d6? And since all Caster related uses for the bygone Concentration have been move to Spellcraft, should I use Psicraft to get Psionic Focus and to Manifest Defensively?

I checked everyone's scores back before all hell broke loose on the boards, it looked like thirty-two. Anyway do you accept psionics? I've been wanting to mess with them for a while now if you do. If not, I'll make something else.

Thanks a lot, yeah, I'm looking into them, they sound good so far.
I'm going to be be starting a Council of Thieves campaign shortly. My players are easily distracted, and I've found that music helps, but the music itself can't be too distracting either. Anyway I'm looking for different kinds of music for the different sections of the adventure, suggestions would be appreciated. Those of you who don't want even a little of the adventure spoiled for you probably shouldn't read below Spoiler:
For the Sewers I'd like something creepy and eerie, but fast paced, since they're supposed to be running away.
I'm not certain what I want for the carriage ambush. For attacking the Bastards I want something infernal sounding, dark and violent. Also would like some good music to have random fights to that would suit the them of the campaign. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Think I'll do a Gestalt Cleric/Wizard, Half Eladrin(Half-Celestial)/Half Human, really a Half-elf, but a magical experiment from a Wizard he was apprenticed to accidentally targeted him and caused a bit of a change(pretty much same thing that happened to Araevin Teshur in The Last Mythal series) Or then again maybe a Gestalt Wizard/Rogue, I'd make it a Half-Fiend at that point though. And Fighter/Rogue is tempting...

Hey, hey, Raven, can Orrin be Orik's Cousin? Because seriously, that'd be AWESOME!!! *Shakes off the facade* Lol anyway, no seriously, that could potentially be hilarious, I love the whole bickering Dwarven family members thing like in Salvatore's work.
catman123456 wrote: ok everyone how soon can you have your char. ready. i kind of want to start sometime this week. Mine's nearly done. Just need to finish equipping him. 100,000 Platinum you said? Also I re-rolled his abilities scores(Had used roll 4 take away lowest), I got 13,18,14,16,14,15, that alright? And Raven, Allizor, I'm taking full advantage of your Craft Wondrous Item and Forge Ring feats if you don't mind. And Raven, did you end up giving your Cohort a Craft feat?

Well if you've got room for a rogue or a cleric can I assume you have room for both? If so I'll take whichever of the two Dewn doesn't.

Cool. Just wanted to make sure You were allowing 3.5 stuff in, some DMs want to just use pathfinder by itself.
nightflier wrote: I'm not all that much interested in the concept of divine vs. arcane magic. It would work in monotheistic society, but not in polytheistic methinks. So, I'll wait for the rest of the group to decide what to play, and then I'll create a character based on the group needs. It can still work in polytheism, either the government has decided arcane magic to be too dangerous, or the gods, never having a god of magic or defeating that god, don't like the idea of magic coming from any source besides themselves and have thus allied to squash out arcane magic and keep it banned from society.
Dragonborn3 wrote: Think I'll go with necromancer, then, and a cleric devoted to a god wanting to bring aracne magic back will give me the RP application for the cleric levels. Perhaps Nethys is coming back? Idk, this is Pathfinder, but it's also a homebrew, I'm not sure if I'm liking Nethys or not just yet. So maybe he'll be our god of magic, or maybe we can use another from somewhere. If everyone really wants Nethys than I won't complain, I was just thinking that maybe I could find someone else.
Hey I just had an idea for my character. Okay, so arcane magic is forbidden, that suggests there's no God of Magic or if there are they've been long forgotten. Perhaps they were defeated by another god or gods and have been slowly recovering there power and are now ready to restore their church. Or perhaps a new god from another pantheon or cosmology wants in on this world's worshipers and wants to bring arcane magic to prosperity on this world. Either way I want to play a cleric of such a god, the first of their new priesthood. Dedicated to building/rebuilding the faith, and freeing and nurturing arcane magic.

That would likely be your best bet if you wanted to disguise yourself as a neutral or evil priest, that'd give you the mastery over negative energy and obviously undead to fool others into thinking you were.
Chris Parker wrote: Certainly sounds interesting, though another idea may be a sorcerer who must, for obvious reasons, keep his gifts a secret. It would certainly give him a very good reason to want to bring about change. Of course one might be able to use their sorcerous talents to pass off as a priest, obviously a neutral one focused on negative energy or an evil one to explain the lack of healing, but it might be possible, Bluff is a Sorcerer class skill after all. Mind if I join in? I'll play whatever role needs filled, but I'm most likely to play a Rogue in this sort of setting, or maybe a ranger. Heck as a Ranger I could be a bounty hunter that goes after arcane casters. Likely he'd only do it for money, not out of any hatred for arcane casters, allowing him to befriend one in the party and find a way to use his connections as a bounty hunter to their aid. |
