Male Bugbear Dungeon Master 1

Welcome to the new players! Now we can finally discuss character creation: sorry for being vague about it on the recruitment thread, but I wanted to discuss with all of you any special additions you wanted added to the game.

In this world, there are people who would give up anything to achieve their goals, right down to their own life. Some will go one step further and give up their afterlife as well, selling their souls in exchange for a bit of earthly pleasure. But for all the riches, acclaim, and influence you can get up above, not one bit of it comes with you when you pass on. And for most who sell their souls, the only reward they end up with is an eternity of damnation.

But you, on the other hand, might just get a second chance. When the devil you made a pact with finds himself in a bind with no options left, he turns to the only warriors he has left: the damned souls in his possession. In return for your temporary servitude, he offers you a second chance at life on the material plane. Quite the tempting offer, but can you really trust the word of a devil? More importantly, do you even have a choice?

This is a Pathfinder First Edition game, running from levels 7-10 on the Fast Advancement track. Intended to be a combination of Suicide Squad and Dante’s Inferno, the game will focus more on combat and roleplay than it will puzzles or exploration. The game will mostly take place on the Paizo forums but Roll20 will be used as the virtual tabletop when necessary.

Other important details:

  • Players are expected to post at least once a week, and more often is preferred. If your absence is unavoidable, at least warn me in advance.
  • This goes without saying, but please don’t meta-game or god-mod.
  • Players can argue in-character as they please but no PVP; at the very least, please don’t actively try to kill other players.
  • This game is 18+, for obvious reasons. On that note: mild sexual themes are fine, extreme sexual themes are not.
  • Tone is mildly serious. I love jokes but players should generally understand when a scene is comedic and when it’s serious.
  • If you break the rules, I’ll politely warn you. If you keep breaking the rules I’ll pm you letting you know that you’ll be dropped if you continue this behavior. Break the rules after that and I'll drop you, no warning no appeal.
  • The setting will be generally based on Golarion but since I don’t have the setting guide on hand, you can expect a few artistic liberties. Same goes with the afterlife: this is MY version of Hell and the Abyss, not Paizo’s.
  • For characters whose strategies revolve around specific enemies: the adventure will take place almost entirely in the Abyss, and the majority of enemies will be demons or fiendish creatures.

If you want to apply, post with the following information; note that this isn’t supposed to be your character build, just a basic post detailing your character concept. Build rules will be discussed after the players are chosen.

Had a cool idea for an adventure and wanted to see if anyone was interested. Basic concept goes like this: The party sold their souls to a contract devil sometime in the past, and now they're all dead and in Hell. The devil, having recently lost a large portion of his minions in a fight against the servants of a good god, comes to the party with a deal: if they do a few "favors" for him, he'll resurrect them. The story will revolve around them on a "Suicide Squad" type of mission. It would go from levels 5-8 on the fast XP progression, and any house rules or homebrew classes can be discussed after players are chosen.

So, anyone interested?

Exactly as the title says: in your personal opinion, given the time sink that a Play-By-Post campaign is normally, is it a waste of time (on part of the players or the DM) to run a one-shot in a Play-By-Post forum?

Hi! I'm a new DM looking to get some practice DMing. I figured play by post would be great since I don't have a very flexible schedule yet.

The adventure is Lachlan Winter's The Fiendish Felon, converted from D&D 5e to Pathfinder 1st edition. The basic set up is as follows:
The town of Bealy draws visitors from far and wide coming to see the "Night-Lights", a yearly event where pixies and sprites float from the woods to deliver gifts to the townsfolk. But when the local flora and fauna start becoming more aggressive, everyone is packing up, leaving the town on the edge of collapse.

Ideally I would like to run this adventure, it's sequel, and beyond if the party is up for it, although I understand if they can't.

A few basics:

  • My virtual tabletop of choice is Roll20.
  • When I do start the campaign I'll hold session 0 on Discord.
  • I am all for new players, and am willing to teach them how the game works.

So, with all that in mind: anyone interested?
