Born on Calth in 720.M41, Quintus was raised on an underground farm and worked upon the land since the day he was able to walk. From the age of six, he was recruited by the Ultramarines and trained at the Agiselus Barracks on Macragge; he graduated in 727.M41 and went on to complete his training at the Fortress of Hera. Nine years later, he became a full-fledged Apothecary in the 5th Company. Almost immediately after his initiation, death came to Macragge: Hive Fleet Behemoth.

Under the command of Marneus Calgar, Quintus was fought in a series of rearguard attacks to buy the 1st Company enough time to fortify the polar fortress. After the battle, Quintus traveled to the ruined polar fortress with the rest of the Chapter's Apothecaries to salvage what they could from the annihilated 1st Company. With each dead Marine he harvested his chapter's precious geneseed from, his hatred for the Tyranid race grew.

As an Apothecary, Quintus has devoted his time on perfecting war against the Tyranid menace, specifically the creation of deadly toxins. He has since taken the Apocryphon Oath, in order to expand his knowledge of xenos. He relishes being able to spread his knowledge and train younger Marines in Tyrannic War tactics.
