Hi! Got a pretty basic question here, but couldn't really find an answer in the Rulebook. I'll use the Barbarian level 1 feat 'Sudden Charge' as my primary example, but my general question is: When an action/ability states that you can perform another action within it, does that take an addition action slot or not?

For example, 'Sudden Charge' states: '... Stride up to double your speed. If you end the move within melee reach of at least one enemy, you can make a melee strike against that enemy. ..."

It is a 2 action activity. My thought is that it uses the 2 actions to both stride twice AND melee if ended in range. My question is does it actually use a third action to make the melee strike, and the 2 action activity is simply stride 2?

Seems pretty obvious to me that it would be a useless feat if it was just stride 2. But it is level 1. Again, just using an example of something that contains multiple actions within its context.

Thanks!
