About Brom Emberflow

Childhood:
Abrea and Barram fell in love at first sight literally, bonding over their shared occupation of blacksmithing. One thing led to another and over time, Brom was born.

The two parents beamed with pride as the young dwarf grew. He seemed to take to working with the metal almost quicker than he took to walking. In fact, prior to adolescence, he was a huge help in the business, his work occasionally rivaling some of the craftsmen more skilled than his parents.

The only thing that caused any major concern these early years was during a fight. Brom had come upon a adolescent dwarf bullying a much younger one from a poor family. Brom couldn't stand it, eventually grabbing the aggressor and spinning him around.

Brom meant to insist the bully stop, and to Brom's ears, in fact, that's what he did say. To everyone else however, a sound came out, one that only an elderly cleric who happened by could even partly understand. Brom did say what he intended, but it wasn't in dwarven. Instead, he'd used Celestial, which after the altercation, he couldn't repeat.

Dreams:
After this event, Brom started dreaming of a dwarven woman quite unlike any he'd ever seen before. The woman was made entirely of metals of varying types, bronze hair, platinum skin, and iron armor.

She explained over the course of these dreams that due to his family's long line of metal working, he'd been gifted by the very nature of metal itself.

He'd have great skill with metal, and abilities other dwarves had not seen since some of the older Halls were being built. However, he'd also serve to the world to the nature of metal, steadfast and true to the law of justice over laws of man or dwarf. That work would start with his community, but would continue on to the world at large.

At irregular intervals, and seemingly at times that served her own interests, she's appeared to Brom since. The most recent a veiled inference that a great peril was looming.

What Brom doesn't know:
While yes, the lady is due to his connection to metal, the connection all oracles share with their mysteries, she's also sent by Torag, as stated because of the care and devotion to metalworking his family has always done.

Brom is not really suited to be a cleric in Torag's eyes as the dwarf isn't as serious or driven, tending to decide for himself what is right and wrong, sometimes without regard to laws or traditions. This is why he was directed in the dreams towards justice.

Future build plans:
At the next level, I plan on taking a dip into the fighter class primarily for the weapon proficiencies. I see this as a furthering of his connection to metal since most of the weapons that would be added are made out of it. From there, unless situation dictates otherwise, I plan on sticking straight through with oracle.

Stat block:
This is a placeholder for the moment, I'll get this up later today, at which point I'll replace this notice with it.
