About Brett Erikson

Back story:
Brett Erikson is a traveling blacksmith, specializing in creating weapons. Well that is his day job that most people know him by. In reality he is a small time smuggler. He uses his cover as a blacksmith as an excuse for some of the stuff he smuggles. If anyone asks he uses those materials in his craft. When he was growing up he was an apprentice to a weapon smith when he was a kid and that was how he survived in Jula.

His days as a kid were boring after he learned how to make all the tricks of the trade he would need to know. He was always looking for a way to get out of Jula safely. The Sodden Lands are not a great place to travel.

One day a traveling caravan passed through Jula and he decided that if he was ever going to leave Jula then would be the time. He packed up and joined the caravan. When they found out about their stowaway they first thought of bringing him back to Jula but Brett said that he wanted to see the world and learn much more than what the people of Jula would have taught him. They accepted him as one of their own and taught him much in the way of the bow, how to follow tracks and most importantly they taught him how to hide items of interest, and how to bluff his way out of a situation if he ever got caught in a tough spot. Whenever they stopped by the ocean he always felt more at ease and knew that the ocean is where he would end up one day.

After traveling with the caravan for years he figured that it was time for him to leave and start his life on the seas. They understood why and dropped him off in the next town. He quickly grew connections and started to smuggle small time stuff. One of the jobs was to smuggle a very special weapon to Port Peril. After delivering it he decided to have a couple of drinks at the
Formidably Maid, then he went down to the docks to look at what he knew would be his future. He didn’t know how soon his future would present itself and the last thing he remembers is a blow to the back of his head.
