About Brehai

A worshiper of Alseta who has been seeking the secrets of arcane magic, Brehai trained herself as a warrior because she believed that balancing on the threshold of body and mind would allow her to best serve Alseta.

The other reason for this decision on Brehai's part was the pragmatic view that if she could not fight, she would not be able to survive long enough to open the doors that have been long-since shut, nor to seal off those that can lead only to the temptation of abuse.

Despite, or perhaps because of, the fact that she was raised in Thuvia - where alchemy rules - Brehai has long sought out the Runes of Wealth. Even though their origin was a continent away and in an intensely unbalanced culture, she sees their secrets as a means to an end, just like all other magic. If they could be used to bring her excellence in both martial and arcane skill, then keeping them out of the hands of ne'er-do-wells would be the icing on the cake.

In her extensive training, Brehai left Thuvia behind and studied at various martial academies. After earning scholarships and attending classes for a month or two, she would leave and go on to a different school, seeing these schools as incredibly adept but distinctly unsatisfactory to her purposes. However, upon reaching Lepidstadt, she saw their intense focus on skill and the surrounding community's proficiency in intellect to be a sign. She now bears the Lepidstadt scar on her left cheek.

As part of her faith, Brehai wears a mask made from alchemically-treated wood on the back of her head. This mask is stylized to appear as if its eyes are stitched shut while a third eye opens on its forehead. When asked what it means, she responds that hubris can seem enlightening, but all it does is blind.
